Although i was born in northern luzon, everytime i go home, i would always feel the same way you felt in this video. Those mountains and rice fields are the manifestation of calm, peace, and beauty. Not to mentioned them ever so welcoming and accommodating local people.
That’s one of the most beautiful places, that I have ever seen. I hope i can visit that area. When i come to the Philippines this year. First time visiting. And meeting my filipina girlfriend. It will be glorious. Thank you so much for sharing.✌️🤙

I've seen many travel vlogs. Yours by far has been one of the best, if not the best. You highlight not only the tourist traps bu you also showcase remote areas and the locals' way of life. You're also very respectful of the culture, even if you did not really like some of the food, you were still respectful and appreciative.
Amazing place. Living in the highlands makes you live longer, food are fresh even the air that you breath is clean. It's a stress free environment Awesome video. Thank you for showcasing my country. Godspeed.
Those drone shots of the rice terraces are stunning! You just don't know how you've captured the beauty of the countryside. Thank you for sharing this with us. Safe travels.
Was worth the late post Gareth - i have to say this was a stunning episode - waking up to the rice terraces is just an experience - the drone shots and the music ambience is just perfect. So the convenient store didnt sell chips but hey we can settle for choccies haha. Was also great that ale’s known even by the local he really is 😉 i have to say i love the bloopers roll - haha
I'll be there in a few weeks! Awesome channel bro! This is getting me pumped! I was near that area but didn't quite get that far north, but I plan on going all the way up this time.. take care!!

For a vlog, i find it too long before i even watched it. But, man! I didn't get bored. I want more! This is a documentary! This is so good. I love the coverage, edit, music...everything! Keep up the good work and take care.
That incredible rice terraces was an awesome piece of living art, and I'm loving it so much. Just praying it will be taken care of and preserverd. Glad you enjoyed North as much as i do.
The narration you did on the first morning when you wake up at your base camp, describing the emotion your going through showing the place what your eyes is seeing through your lens is like a poetry to my ears and before I knew it, I got teary eyed and I'm a hard knock old soul. First time ever. Nice work
This has got to be one of my fave vlogs featuring the phils. you can really tell the joy and peace through your narration. so much more than the typical touristy beaches. what an experience.
A Tao-type ecotourism system in the Northern Philippines would be awesome and would immensely help the communities while also preserving their cultures. Hope it gets off the ground. If Eddie is looking for more places, I'd suggest a look at the the Lumad cultures in central Mindanao. It's very similar to Ifugao culture, but is underrepresented in the tourism industry because it's lumped along with the rest of Mindanao as being "dangerous". It doesn't have the rice terraces, but makes up for it by having intricate traditional arts and music.
I feel you bro at 11:50. Wow! I'd love to go there, amazing place! This vid has just been my favorite!!! I know beaches are beautiful but that site for me, is far more beautiful, it's different! Landscape, those terraces carved by hand, peaceful place, everything about it, like you said, LIFE IS GOOD!!!
Wow, that was an eyeopener. Very interesting and informative video. The furthest north I've been in Luzon is Subic Bay. I need to be more adventurous the next time I visit that region. Cheers 🍺

- Visas are too expensive to stay long, last time I checked. More than $600 usd for 6 months, for a piece of paper. Ludicrous. That is what the customs guy told me.
Edges of Earth, I checked some website about the visa fee. This is what I found: Philippines Visa Nationals of over 150 countries do not need a visa to visit the Philippines. On arrival they receive a free Visa Waiver. Tourists can now stay 30 days for free with this Visa Waiver. It is given to them at the immigration desk in ports and airports. The extension of the Visa Waiver for another 29 days costs PHP 3,130.00. So you basically pay $60 (P3,130) to extend your visa. $600 is a wrong conversion.
You're one of the most passionate travel blogger out here! Thank you for exploring the country and taking in your perspective with the unplanned agendas. It was indeed felt all throughout your travels. The content sincerity as well as how it affected you, that's a real deal. God bless on your future travels and thank you for sharing.😊
I am constantly amazed by the beauty of the Mountain Provinces and the rice terraces! This year alone, I did 2 trips up north to 2 different clusters of rice Terraces. And both times, I didn't see Thanos! 🤣 This is the 1st time I've heard of that one in Bauko. It is true how serene and peaceful one feels in the mountains. It is perfectly fine to disconnect once in awhile and the Mountain Province is the perfect place to unwind and recharge - nice climate, crisp clean air, laid back vibe and a lot of smiling and friendly people! That bumpy jeepney ride would have been the perfect opportunity to test the GoPro7's hyper smooth feature. 😉 I have always been interested to try Tao Philippines' tours. I have always thought it was managed by foreigners. Gosh! I miss the mountains and the weather! Loved this vlog, Gareth! Well done! 👍🇵🇭😊 P. S. @garethleonard, you stood out from amongst the teens, both for your dancing and height. 🤣

Navajo Aucland, it is a unesco heritage site.
@@danilosun1431 that's very good to know, thank you
I’ve lived in this region but not anymore. The Phils is definitely an experience to live in:)
Quality of your video and presentation is fa better from what I've seen from other youtube channels, you earned a new sub. Thanks for this video
I truly appreciate it Dave! Thank you.
OMG! I'm teary eyed when you showed the terraces, so beautiful! Thank you.
Although i was born in northern luzon, everytime i go home, i would always feel the same way you felt in this video. Those mountains and rice fields are the manifestation of calm, peace, and beauty. Not to mentioned them ever so welcoming and accommodating local people.
Was in Sagada 3 days ago. That was a trip of a lifetime.
That’s one of the most beautiful places, that I have ever seen. I hope i can visit that area. When i come to the Philippines this year. First time visiting. And meeting my filipina girlfriend. It will be glorious. Thank you so much for sharing.✌️🤙
Subr.to finn snow he blogger and travel all around PH
We have 7,600 islands and 600 unknow names, if you do not want one island go to another nobody.
Also mountain😊☺️u 100% enjoy
Are you still together with your Filipina Gf?
Hows your trip? Did you meet your filipina girlfriend?
@Keith Hogg How was your visit?
I've seen many travel vlogs. Yours by far has been one of the best, if not the best. You highlight not only the tourist traps bu you also showcase remote areas and the locals' way of life. You're also very respectful of the culture, even if you did not really like some of the food, you were still respectful and appreciative.
I just missed some vlogs you had in Philippines. This is one beautiful vlog to mesmerize!🇧🇭🇵🇭
Was also great that ale’s known even by the local he really is 😉
i have to say i love the bloopers roll - haha

Gareth Leonard,

I'll be there in a few weeks! Awesome channel bro! This is getting me pumped! I was near that area but didn't quite get that far north, but I plan on going all the way up this time.. take care!!
Try to visit Santol LA Union sir if you want to see some of our falls and lakes thank you
@@brendaaglanang1828 Ok awesome thanks! I will try to visit there : )
Go all the way to Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
Ray Junsay is there a ferry that goes there?
@@DustinBackpacks yes. Actually Cody and Kulas (Kyle Jennerman # BecomingFilipino) been there. There's a charter flight to and from Batanes from Manila or better, book with an accredited travel agent.
This is worth watching! Living simple leads us to living healthy...
I completely agree! 👍
@@GarethLeonard hello, would love to go see this please. Are you able to share who could take us to that eco village please? Planning to going in January 2023 :)
Such a great part of the world for beautiful pictures and people. I truly enjoy you and your adventures! Excellent!
who's watching this in 2020? stay safe everyone! Can't wait to travel again,
You're most welcome to the Philippines
For a vlog, i find it too long before i even watched it. But, man! I didn't get bored. I want more! This is a documentary! This is so good. I love the coverage, edit, music...everything! Keep up the good work and take care.
Richard is right. The editing...how you did it. Superb!
Richarrrd😋
That incredible rice terraces was an awesome piece of living art, and I'm loving it so much. Just praying it will be taken care of and preserverd. Glad you enjoyed North as much as i do.
The narration you did on the first morning when you wake up at your base camp, describing the emotion your going through showing the place what your eyes is seeing through your lens is like a poetry to my ears and before I knew it, I got teary eyed and I'm a hard knock old soul. First time ever. Nice work
This is why philippines are so rich about there nature wow just blow my mind
Cowboy style
Thanks again man for showcasing the Philippines on your vlogs. Cheers....
This has got to be one of my fave vlogs featuring the phils.
you can really tell the joy and peace through your narration. so much more than the typical touristy beaches.
what an experience.
Watched it multiple times!
Cheers 🍺
Go try reaching out the beauty within the mountains... See you soon Banaue..
Subic bay is my place. ❤️
My heart swells knowing that you enjoyed your stay here in our country.
Sir,just keep exploring more of Benguet and mountain Province when you come to the Philippines..you will love the people, culture and traditions!
If u want to explore the most unique place in nothern Luzon...go to Batanes.
The Philippines is really a beautiful country. A must-visit for everyone
I'm From Canada I have been to PH 1 time so far . I seen most of Manila Pasig Tondo Malate Intramaros Tagaytay Even Boracay
My girlfriend was rised in Manlia. But her mom and dad were from Pamaga in this area This is the Philippines I want to see sooo nice there reminds me of some places here in Canada But with a Asian tropical twist. It's sad to think that we build Towers and cities in the want of money and power But crave the open wilderness and its beauty
We always look for something that we do not have and then realize later that we don't need those fancy things. A simple life is better.
@@wavemaker2077 exactly! i ended up in manila for looking something i dont have, and now here i am saving money, coz im planning going back to my beautiful hometown in bukidnon mindanao realizing that living a simple life is the best.
Northern Luzon is epic! You'll see for yourself as you travel around up north.
@@john-on2xt wow, Bukidnon can rival the epic Northern Luzon views. Incredible place.
When you see this place you realize...There is a GOD!
very well said, thanks you.
God Bless The Philippines
Well SAID, AMEN!! God Bless and protect and keep the Filipino People!!
amen
Indeed. Amen to that.
Wow gareth I am totally in awe, jaws dropped during those drone shots of the terraces!!! Epic! I have never seen this specific location in other vlogs. Wow wow wow! And when you said that your host was the founder of Tao, that made this more epic beacuse I love watching the Tao Expedition videos and for him to take you and tell you of his plans of doing the same in the northern region of Philippines made me more excited in the years to come..
Kudos and I am happy to subscribe in your channel :-)
yes and the fact is he is the best blogger next is Finn. Both this blogger has emotional connection to our fellow and country. nkakaproud
I've just started watching your videos in youtube right now Philippines to be exact! men that was amazing places you've been . This episode made my mind blow'n. Keep it up Bro! Hope to explore Philippines one of this day.
- Cool! My initial goal was to go to Northern Luzon, but somehow I made a crazy decision to travel south. If/when I return to PH, I will go north! 💪🏼
Batanesss!!!!!!!!! Island...........just don't go during typhoon season.
Also Babuyan Islands & see the humpback whales!
You should allot a longer time exploring the Philippines next time you visit. Two months travel is the minimum.
- Visas are too expensive to stay long, last time I checked. More than $600 usd for 6 months, for a piece of paper. Ludicrous. That is what the customs guy told me.
Edges of Earth, I checked some website about the visa fee. This is what I found:
Philippines Visa
Nationals of over 150 countries do not need a visa to visit the Philippines.
$600 is a wrong conversion.
thanks for sharing to the world your trip to Philippines and to Mt. Province...so wonderful, i am from Mt province in Bontoc.,,thanks guys.
You have the best video of capturing the amazing Rice Terraces. You connected with the people. Great job!
Very lucky of you experienced the beautiful views/ tourists spot in my country Philippines..the hospitality of my fellow countrymen I’m so much proud ..
And I’m glad you’re enjoyed it.
Good thing you didnt just visit the popular tourist spots in the Visayas. The places here in northern Luzon are almost always not featured by foreign tourists. I hope you also visited other provinces up north.
What a beautiful place you took us to.. Thanks for sharing us your traveling experience Gareth... Glad you like the beautiful places of our country, the Philippines..
Another great video Gareth, the rice terraces and the scenery we're absolutely breathtaking. Be safe on your travels sir and looking forward to your future shows.

Awesome Adventure!!!! I’ll be there in that neighborhood this January for medical & dental mission. God’s Best for you Gareth Leonard.
I've been to Vigan, also up in the north and I love the history it has. The buildings are kept the way they were during the Spanish colonial, their food, and the fun Kalesa ride.
Very good storytelling and great drone shots of the rice terraces and the mountains!

Wow! Gareth, just up more a little bit in the highest peak of the mountain is my birthplace called Data, Sabangan next to Bila, Bauko . If you see the small village up up the mountain that’s Data opposite Bagnen . Yeah... enjoy...go up Mt. Polis from Bagnen, and see the stunning beauty 360 degrees view, you can also see The famous Sagada Town, Bauko town, part of Sabangan and Tadian town. Gareth, and to your company , I really thank you from the bottom of my heart for reaching out to the deeper part of the Northern par of the Philippines as fas as where my family settled for years but we came fron the Mountain Province near Sagada, not too far from Bauko. My hometown is just 10 -15 min.drive from Sagada.
You should have gone to Sagada and tour the cave! Thanks again for promoting our beautiful Mountain Province. You remind me of my late Scottish husband who truely loved to retire there one day!
