Sleeping In An UNINHABITED HOUSE In Ifugao! Philippines Rice Terraces in Mayoyao

- MANY HOUSES AND RICE TERRACES WERE ABANDONED IN MAYOYAO, IFUGAO OVER THE LAST FEW DECADES.
But now there's a plan to restore them.
Some of Mayoyao's rice terraces are UNESCO World Heritage listed - which makes this even more critically important! Keeping a culture alive - it's so important!

KD in your adventures to the different communities in the country, you really had seen, experience the best of filipino hospitalities, kindness and love. Thfy had served you their best possible can despite of their not so affluent situations but they had given you the best blanket, pillows, foods and others during your visit to their place tha' s what Filipinos are all about.
marami na akong napanood na video blogs ng mga lokal travellers pero iba ang dating pag si kumander daot ang nagpresent. napaka genuine at inspiring. more power po idol
The culture you had immersed in applies to the very basic existence of any civilization anywhere. You were given an experience experience few can only dream of, that is a very closely guarded opportunity for anyone. You are one of the few individuals given that opportunity. You had experienced few only dreams about, I guess you are one lucky person given a gift that is rare as a unicorn. Indeed I can see how genuinely you love the culture, you had elevated yourself way above any fair skinned vlogger set foot in my country. Teary-eyed watching this I consider you a friend even if in this life I had not met you. You truly are one of a kind. May the good lord safeguard you always.
Very well said sir!
I know the pretty lady. I saw her from vlog of Sonny - Best ever food review show.. She's such a gentle soul when speaking, yet real Igorot by heart.. I love her
A very hard working and passionate tourism officer too! Mam Detchie is a legend!
I commend the way you noticed how the abandoned homes were built and the way its pieces fit together like a puzzle (no nails); your narration is wonderful, you choose your words wisely, but most importantly, you do it with a smile on your face :))
Kudos to you KD, you always showed us beautiful sites, sceneries, and amazing cultures of the Philippines. You're the best vlogger KD, in my humble opinion.
Historical, traditional, cultural oiiented vlog.
Beautiful sceneries
Excellent KD!!
I 've been to so many places in the PH just by watching your videos.
While I'm still in the middle of the video, when you started talking about those houses in Ifugao, I kind of envious towards the Japanese because a lot of their ancestral structures are still well maintained because the craftsmanship is still being passed down to the newer generation but for us Filipinos, I think it is because we were colonized by a lot of colonizers, we tend to move on and forget this craftsmanship that people were using before. I believe our sense of identity was lost in the process of colonization and the newer generation tend to move on and forget the things of the past. I'm still grateful because the people in the mountain province and Ifugao still treasure their ancestry.
I feel like a lot of history has been hidden or lost because of colonization. It's a great shame because the old culture is really do great...
300 years of colonization did wiped out 80 or 90 percent the of original craftmanship and culture and identity
How ever in the mountains, its the introduction of christianity contribute to the lost of lots of craftmanship,, i remember my grandfather said the missionaries urge the locals to destroy and burn some pottery and other crafts because they said it is associated with paganism and idolatry
The Clint Eastwood of Vlogger cowboy Commander Daot. Truly a brave man to sleep alone in abandon ricefield watch tower. I dare any vlogger to do that.
Kumander Daot, you are very adventurous. You've been to places a few of us Filipinos will go .very informative videos. Salute to you sir..
Your mountain adventures are always so enjoyable. The Ifugao woodwork and craftsmanship are truly spectacular, especially because it is done without nails and is so precise in joining the pieces together. Very impressive! And, once again, I love your drone shots! The views are so beautiful, and your drone work is second to none. Thanks for taking us along, KD!
Another Timeless Vlog by Kumander Daot. At par with documentaries for me
Alright! Im from Ifugao 😊😊thanks to your videos like i wnet on a quick trip to my Hometown! i missed the local way of cooking "latud"or gabi and watercress but most off the "binakle" !now binak"le on my mind while sipping my morning coffee 😊😊keep safe on yout dialy trip ❤❤
Wow, You visited our place- Ifugao. Thanks KD for showcasing our hometown Mayoyao.
I’m missing home. Watching your videos here in Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪
What a beautiful place. Thank you for taking us with you on your adventures.
The ancient rice terraces in Mayoyao is one of the most iconic, most scenic and most photographed landscape views. Collectively, your own homestay experience in the old abandon Ifugao house, trek to the 'higher grounds', pounding traditional rice in the traditional 'granary house', and traversing through the 'snake river valley', are amazing and priceless moments indeed! Thank you for bringing us back where it all began!
Wow nice place to sleep and so unique! So, where's the bathroom? I think the ifugao are the oldest tribe that they still continue to practice their culture and traditions!
living on the province is very hard life you donlt have a lot of money but you don't get hungry. I am happy kummander that you experience lfe in the province

I've lived in Baguio for many years and worked at Lepanto Mines in Mankayan for a couple of years but I've never been to the other Cordillera provinces. Thank you for sharing your travels to these beautiful places.
Mad respect to all the rice farmers. Hardest labour work and feeds the whole country and yet they get paid the least.
How u stumbled and fumbled to get the rice up the attic lol nice one Kumander! What an experience!
Happy Fathers Day KD.Tnx for visiting one of the town of our province .., RS
Wow!!! another adventurous vlog. Never a dull moment. Thank you.
I like the concept of that abandoned house. Maybe I'll build one someday up in the mountains.

I love these kinds of videos from you. There are so many RUclips videos that show the beaches and cities, but I love videos like this one that show the mountains and the deep-rooted cultures that live there. Thank you for sharing.
See to appreciate the farmers the hardwork that they have done, especially if you will do the ancient way to get the rice grains
Following your vlogs, I think you've experienced the simplest and the extravagant way of life. Great journey with a great experience
Quite an adventure kumander. How much does it cost to have a tour guide? Thanks kumander for another nice video!

loved it at 1:48 of the video - Sir KD you blurted out what a true blue Bisaya would also say. " ATAY " hahahahahahahahahah. Love your vlogs sir.
Kumander Daot, I am from Mayoyao (at least my father is) and watching you in the US. I can barely recognize the place. But I can still feel the pain of cooking rice. That is from harvesting, to drying, to removing the rice husk, gathering firewood. By the time, I cook my rice, I have to get prepared to start all over.
wow How I wish I could reach that place also
KD😊❤❤❤Mabuhay po kayo!!!🙏
Before you're done in northern Luzon try to pass by the cave in Cagayan where the oldest homo sapiens was found. It is older than the tabon man. You're not able to explore the villa verde passage in malico a very historical place like the Dalton pass.
your motorcycle is doing great in mountains
Diyos ti kumuyog kenka kumander daot. Bilib ako, ikaw na. God bless you on your journey exploring the north. Big thumps up👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
