Not wanting to be a know it all, just want to keep all your subscribers informed. There is no old west El Paso, west El Paso is broken into 5 areas listed city directory. 1 Kern Place and also UTEP area, 2. Westside, Mesita Mesa Hills and Sunland Park. 3. Coronado Hills, Shadow Mtn. Westwind, 4. North West El Paso, Redd Resler area to Trans Mountain. 5 Upper Valley all of Doniphan Dr. West of I 10. There are other little hamlets such as Calaverda and Smelter town, but those homes are always past down through the generations and rarely if ever are for sale. Also I 10 runs north and south past the Franklins so it is west of I 10 or East not south. The other areas are broken down the same way such as Central El Paso, Downtown El Paso, South El Paso, 5 points and so on. I appreciate your enthusiasm for El Paso and know why your doing these videos just want to keep the record straight. I am a retired Police Officer from El Paso so I know a little bit about this subject.
Great video. Since the first time visiting El Paso a few years ago, I have always enjoyed driving around El Paso. So much to see and do. Can’t wait to finally be moving there in a couple weeks.
Extremely helpful, since it’s not so easy to drive or fly to see In person. Thank you John. My family and I are considering moving to El Paso. Your videos are helping us see what it looks like.
Upper Valley is nice until you get hit with a million dollar price tag and a 3-percent property tax. Median house prices may be reasonable but property taxes are crippling.
I lived in El Paso back in 1983-86...man I loved it...I was at Bliss in the military..married an El Paso gal and then we got a divorce soon after I got out of the military...I would love to visit again...
@@efraincorpus8777 Hi Efrain, I love Burbank and yes I have seen Jay Leno many times. He has his fancy cars garage in Burbank. He drives a 1927 Ford Model T all the time. Great guy, says hello to everyone that greets him. I met his father as well a while back. Greetings from California!
Hello, yes, I bet that El Paso has changed A LOT! It really does seem to be one of the up and coming places in the south! Reach out if you need anything.
Are there any subdivisions in El Paso where the homes are new, or newer on an acre of land each (or so)? It seems like the homes there are quite close together.
Hi I'm Cathy From Calif I like to know How many bedrooms in the houses To get a idea if is good for me. Thanks For U video. I like it. Im planning to move to El Paso. 😀
I loved your video on your day trip to Juarez! I'd definitely like to see some commentary on real estate there on the Mexico side of the border. Maybe an interview with a real estate agent or investor who has done work there. I'd be interested in knowing what the nicest parts of Juarez to live for families and, perhaps, what the best up and coming areas for investors are. There's really not a whole lot of commentary out there on that, and it'd be nice to see that.
No. Rain is short lived here. You might have heard of some areas getting flooded but its limited to a few areas around town.... there is a flood map on the internet.
John: As a real estate agent close to New Mexico, are you licensed to sell or buy in Southern New Mexico? My wife and I are looking to move to either El Paso or the Las Cruces area. My wife immigrated from Chihuahua, Mexico and I'm from Albuquerque. Living in Phoenix and looking to relocate in the next 12-18 months. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Eloso, no, I am not currently licensed in NM BUT I'm working on it! Reach out to me at john@penaelpaso.com and I can certainly recommend a great agent who is licensed in NM or I'd be happy to help you find a great place here in El Paso!
@@LivingInElPasoTexas John: My wife and I are looking to move to El Paso, Las Cruces or somewhere in between in the next 12-18 months. The primary reason is to get my wife closer to her family in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. We are looking to spend a couple of days in the area sometime the first part of May.
There is NO "south" of Interstate 10 on the Westside. The I-10 runs north + south on the West corridor. I-10 runs East + West around the downtown area, there you will have a "south" of I-10. This may appear like a Debbie Downer moment but El Paso is a dreadful place....but like a frog gradually getting boiled, people just seem to get used to it. I live on the Westside...previously I lived in Scottsdale Az and let me tell you, the contrast between the two is like the Earth and the Moon.Well, you can't compare...blah blah to so and so. Yes you can. Basically, El Paso is one large ghetto with pockets of nice. The Westside happens to have one of those pockets of "nice" but its fairly limited. You will have to spend 300k+ to grant you access to said nice. A medium sized city with a small town mentality, and that might appeal to some people wanting to raise a family here, but the schools here are not producing results to warrant the cost of the exorbitant , California level taxes. Folks from California are moving here to escape the damage there and are getting priced out of places like Arizona too so they continue to move east and this is one of their next places. El Paso is not a destination place, rather a place of circumstance.
Yes, it's pretty competitive for buyers right now. I'm so sorry that you're feeling disappointed! It can be really frustrating, especially when you find a house you really like! Hang in there, your time will come!

Very helpful!
Never even saw the best fly in community in Texas/New Mexico. Cielo Dorado
How are you on the North of the interstate if it runs north-south of where you live...arent you on the east side of the interstate?
Helpful video soon as my credit is good I’ll be on Z way lol 😂

Hi Kiara, yes, I've asked one of our team members who is much more savvy about the apartment scene to make a video very SOON just about apartments!

Great video. Do you do mentoring for real estate in El Paso. I live on the north east and I'm looking forward to getting started in real estate
I'd love to talk to you about real estate, we are always looking to grow our team with the best people!
Which areas have mountain/canyon views?
Most of the houses East/North of I-10, if you're looking at the west side.

Do you have any rent to own properties?
We see very few of those!
My goodness. I have been looking for houses in El Paso and I keep getting outbid. I’m just so disappointed.
what are some the price range homes you been looking at?
Yes, it's pretty competitive for buyers right now. I'm so sorry that you're feeling disappointed! It can be really frustrating, especially when you find a house you really like! Hang in there, your time will come!
Que horrible es el paso. Muy seco y aburrido
Pos que bueno que no vive aqui.
