Oh, this is amazing! Can I come do a komodo dragon video with you guys? The work you're doing with them is incredible. Seeing Robert interact with them in this way is so eye-opening. What a special animal!
Hey Clint! Love your videos! Is the komodo dragon the perfect pet? 😂 Just because she let Robert pet her doesn't mean she'll let you. My monitor is great with me and my kids but is weird with strangers.
Even the meanest monitors can be mellow if they are treated right. Nile monitors are known as A-holes in the pet trade but you see a few that are quite tame. The komodo has always been a favorite of mine. Our Zoo has a young male and he's super cool. I Remember pictures from his 6th birthday party. They made him a meat cake with rats for candles. They act savage in the wild to survive. Given the right captive environment, Temps, humidity, food, and positive human interaction, they are smart enough to realize you aren't a threat. My Savanah monitor is almost 5 years old. He thinks he's human. I got him as a hatchling, built him a big climate controlled enclosure, gave him a variety of foods, dirt to dig and play in, take him outside in the summer. All monitors are amazing! They are harder to keep healthy than snakes but much smarter.
I went to the Australia zoo a few years ago and I'm so honored that I got to do an encounter with Indah and have the opportunity to touch the same animal that Robert and Bindi and even Terri have touched. It's such an amazing feeling knowing that I've shared that small part of the world with a family that is so important and influential to animal conservation and wellbeing. 10/10 would pet that dragon again
Yesterday when I went to the zoo I was just amazed how much effort and time they put into the progress of making this zoo well done Irwin family well done!
Whoa wait, how can this Komodo be so calm with all the touches and kiss from Robert? Incredible, she looks like she enjoyed being petted and kissed by Robert😄
Komodos are one of my absolute favorite animals. Indah is so precious and you can tell that she loved being petted when she slowly closed her eyes, so adorable.🥰🦎❤. You guys take such good care of her as well as all your animals. :)
WOW Robert, Indah is getting big and beautiful but then again she's got a great trainer and human Daddy! Keep up the great work she is a beauty! Take care and God bless you and your family always sending much love from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 💙💙💙
Indah means beautiful in Bahasa Indonesia, and indeed she’s a beautiful komodo🥰 I love how they give her Indonesian name as Komodo Dragons are endemic to the Komodo Island, Indonesia❣️
I think it's like that with all the dragons that are given to zoos. Dragons are a natural treasure to Indonesia. The dragons here in the US have Indonesia names too.
Robert...You really remind me of steve☺️. Good to see you following your passion. The way you treat animals and give them respect n love makes you unique... ☺️☺️❤️
Awww when you kissed the top of her head she pushed up into it and closed her eyes and gave you a long slow tongue flick!! That's the best you can get when it comes to monitor lizards
Wow! The pic for the video really made me think of a Steve! I am do glad his son is following in the same footsteps. Great family! Keep up the great work.
She is cool!!!! I have absolutely loved komodo dragons since I first learned about them when I was 6 or 7 years old. This training session is like a dream of mine lol
AMAZING she lets you near ! Thank u Robert YOUR presentation s of WILDLIFE is AMAZING we learn so.much! And too appreciate and respect all wildlife and animals !💕💙❣live from AUSTRALIA
You see a lot of target training with paddles on RUclips. Monitors are super smart. My Savanah knows his name and the word food. He loves back scratches too. Especially during a shed. I remember when your Dad visited the islands where the dragons live. They chased him up a tree. On their turf in the wild we are just another snack.
I’m really impressed with her demeanour. I’m sure there are very few Komodo’s that you can literally pick up and carry safely. I’d love to know the history of her handling. You also have a one in a million opportunity to raise hatchlings. That’s what I really want to see. Cheers from Canader eh!
Omg!!! That is one gorgeous lizard...that is so awesome that he can pet one...I think it is so cool that he is walking in his father's footsteps...I know his father is very proud of him
Steve Irwin will be missed both his family and the people he taught about animal conservation. Including the fans that have come to respect how he loves all wild life. Steve Irwin truly cared about the environment something we all should do and think about. God made us Stewards to care for the earth, wild life, habitats, and all plant life. Yet we are doing the opposite, we are destroying the very earth with pollution. We all should love one another as brothers and sisters. Come together and talk about how we should care for the earth. To quote an old favorite tv show the more we are together, the more happier we'll be. Set aside our differences and do our part to protect the environment and the earth.
I never realized how damn smart they are 🤯 she knows those signals on that paddle instantly and knows that Roberts going to give her food when he switches that paddle over, thats almost some mammalistic smarts right there!
I once read that komodo lizards are able to recognise specific humans, primarely their keepers. You can see when the Irwin enters her area Indah didn't care about him but about the camera men. Her focus was always on one of the cameras as those were potential dangers while she already knows and trusts the Irwin.
"They usually don't really seek out that sort of physical attention" *proceed to scratch her back* *me sweating out a bit* "But Indah is like a little puppy" Oh Thank God
What's up, Indah? He reminds me of Bahasa & Xena from the San Francisco Zoo, along with Ora from Season 3 of The Lion Guard + Chaos & Mayhem from Norm Of The North 3: King-Sized Adventure! Heaving Ophiacodon!🐲🐲🐲
The way she closed her eyes when he touched her head! Omg so sweet 🥰
So amazing to watch, love to all 🥰
So cute but when this thing gets big and *bites* his hands 💀
@@alexxxxis32 she’s already full grown

Hey Clint! Love your videos! Is the komodo dragon the perfect pet? 😂 Just because she let Robert pet her doesn't mean she'll let you. My monitor is great with me and my kids but is weird with strangers.
I love it when he says "one of my absolute favorite animals" he's literally saying it on all the animals 😂😂
Cuz they are ALL his favorites! He loves every single animal just as much as the next one, just like Dad 💪😁
Really hope she’s doing well alongside Naga, here’s to hoping you can successfully breed some little Komodo babies! 💖
Omg yesss I'm really excited for the Komodo babies, hope they will come soon.

WOW! Wasn't it Steve telling us how dangerous these lizards are when he visited Komodo island? I guess bred in captivity makes a difference.

Nice!
That suits her. Thanks for the information! 👍🏼👏🏼
I really hope Indah ends up gravid
The fact he can just lay down a little with a komodo dragon to pet and kiss it, that's so nerve-racking but just so sweet and badass!

That's insane seeing a Komodo so domesticated. They are easily one of the most vicious animals on the planet.
That’s closer than I want to get to that dragon 🐉
Adorable 🐉
ama, ing. never thought you could train a reptile that way.
It’s so amazing that u can just touch it😝
Take care Robert! That is a mini dinosaur!???
