This is supposed to be a tutorial, based on the video title. The most important thing about cutting a potentially dangerous tree is assessing what's going on with it, and what the game plan will be to safely fell it. There is not a single word of explanation in this entire fucking video. Just an annoying music soundtrack.
Just guessing here. 1) Notching Face cut was made to determine the amount of good wood vs rot. 2) Notching done because ? bar on chain saw was way shorter than diameter of trunk 3 ) Plunge cut used - ? because it was a safer/ more controlled if the tree was hollow.? What i did not understand is why the back cut was finished first before the cuts on both sides? Guessing that the arborists thought it was not rotten inside - and they did the back cut in the method shown because they expected to use shims to push it over. The hollow was then found only after the tree was felled? Only they would know.
That tree wasn't rotten. dead maybe but not rotten. I have one that has a foot wide opening from the ground up 5' with about 2 1/2" left around the tree and is a heavy leaner over my fence and storage building. I think I'll just rent a 90' boom lift and cut it from the top down.
Not profesional people amateurs. First thing he does lifts chainsaw above his head!! which is very very bad move with big chainsaw, go read chainsaw manuals which they dont know . Any bounce and he goes to er with badly cut head thats the reason why cause than chainsaw is above you chain brake will not turn on! Go retrain, rhese days any guy with saw becomes arborist
Man this music is weird guys
