Do you by chance have any VCW15 frames you would part with I have 1 and eventually would like to build a pair, I actually loved my vcw there a great performer and have great SQ. The one thing I've experienced with nvx is 2 out of 3 had triple joint failure one a VCW and one VSW, the white CA there build house uses seems brittle? I've just never had a sub fail like that as easy. I used em hard but nothing crazy. The other I cooked a coil but that was 100% on me Im sure I clipped the hell out of it on a pioneer Gm9701D 1200w amp. But back them I didn't even know about clipping.
Is NVX good. Been thinking of getting their custom box for a Tesla model 3 w/amp and crossover. Look on sonic electronics site. Could you build me a similar set up??
Same sub as the Type X from Alpine. It's ok, but nothing special. I typically remove the motors and use them normal.... Boring I know.. But I'm always practical when it comes to this shit.
@@RobotUnderground - I just don't want to buy a subwoofer because it looks flashy, I just thought by having Quaid Voice Coils, would make a better sound?
@@RobotUnderground -- I would rather have you to custom make a subwoofer and make sure that it will out perform, from the original specifications? So if the sub did 2,000 then make it do 5,000 , with better tinsel leads, voice coil, materials and magnets? In other words- make the front of the sub look the same, but have better motor equipment. Having people scratch there heads, and asking- how did you do that?
@@tyronepalmer3708 Lol, I'm not a magician. You'd need a much bigger magnet to do numbers like that. Text me pics of what you have though and we can go over your options, 6023126504
It depends on how you're using it. What's better, .45 or .40 cal? .40 is easier to control and gives you more rounds. 9mm seems too small and just pisses people off. .45 will take a leg off but you only get 7-10 rounds
@@RobotUndergroundpat I think thereal question is, are aluminum voice coils comparable to copper? I’ve been wanting to talk to you about that as well. I see a lot of aluminum voice coil speakers and I my self am unsure about them being that with the power wire to a system you don’t want to use aluminum you want to use copper so does that same theory transfer over to the voice coils ?
@@PROATV13rb On the whole, copper is superior to aluminum coils. Most of the time, an aluminum coil is used for cost savings. In really high performance subwoofers, it can be used as an alternative due to the weight / mass savings. We've been using 8 layer copper 4" coils with success. People love being able to play into the 20's. On the larger subs, we use a support / reinforcement spider that's pretty stiff. On some smaller subs like a 12" or 10", we stick with a softer suspension to get those low notes.
I use the Concept quad 1 ohm coil. You'd want to use the 12 spoke to model it and there's two different versions of the 15" frame. one with an 8" landing and one with a 9" landing.
Hey, what about if you melt the input RCA jack on your subs amp? Is that something companies warranty or am I just shit out luck? Well, I'd just replace the jack. Once I figure out how to remove the glue type substance that is on the circuit board over the solder. What the hell would cause that to happen btw?
@@RobotUnderground in the time between now and my question I might have fixed it, the problem not the amp. I'm thinking it was an insufficient ground. Same subs, same power source, different RCA's, different amp (obviously), and different ground location (also same ground wires and block). Anyway, things seem to be working atm. Thank You Sir for responding!! It's greatly appreciated! Oh and thank you for the videos! I only wish I'd have found you sooner. Before I bought new subs!! But I've gotcha now!
All out but Curtis N. had some spiders made at a cut vinyl place and we put them on some caps. I just have that one you see in the video and this will be like the 4th time we've recovered it.
Thanks to you i will never spend insane amounts of money on brand names
I already kept hearing me love you long time, then your educational story made sure I heard my favorite customer service rep. Hi Tina. Lol

If you're melting RCA's, something's wrong. Try a different source like a cell phone. If it still melts it, it's the amp.
