Utterly Gobsmacked. Couldn't believe I was in the audience. Still Gobsmacked. Reliving such terrific musicianship. I recall the auditorium was stunned.
I went to both the gigs Miles played that night at the Festival Hall 👌Great Band. Miles was superb. I have always absolutely loved the ‘Time After Time’ from this gig…so incredibly moving…he takes so much time with the mute…no rushing…lots of space…Scofield’s beautiful little solo..then mute off and those high notes ❤❤ oh my God, it gets me every time…one of my favourite pieces of music.
I think that was the Newport show I saw. I was floored. Did Miles play the set with his back to the audience ? Was BB King and Dave Brubeck on that bill ? Trying to get my years right.
Thx for this addition: such a gem, he sounds confident !(no mute). And yes the sound quality of this recording is not the best, considering that it’s on one of the most renowned European stages, badly affecting Al’s cymbal sound….

An old friend of mine was working in the theatre's sound crew; he met Miles at this show 🙂. Colin, old mate, here's to ya, brother! 😇

Questa formazione ho avuto la fortuna di ascoltarla dal vivo il 21/07/1984 in un grandissimo festival nel teatro grande di Pompei.
Miles! Siempre sorprende, siempre con la luz del Blues. Gracias
The countdown to the video and the introduction was so beautiful!
Love this - I saw him a month later at Newport with the same lineup and it was similarly awesome! Love how much stuff keeps surfacing!

@@paulstefi5714miles with his back turned is about 40 years of shows 😂 but you’re correct about BB King and Dave Brubeck also that day
GREATEST MUSICIAN OF ALL TIME BY FAR...❤

You've done a great job cleaning up the tape. Thanks for sharing. I love this band!
Wow! Amazing find👏😍💥
Thanks so much.

Many thanks again. An improvement on the version I have had for a while. I wonder if the 2nd show has turned up anywhere! bw J
Not that I've found... always on the lookout, though.
this it is a suicidal version !!! I LOVE IT !!!
Wow Old Man Sco sounding very Mike Stern, who of course played with Miles too
Irving III and Branford days
👏🏿🥰
feeling lucky !🎉
EVIL FOR EVER
It hurts me to hear this stage of his career.
LOL- not unlike "Deadheads" who hated the band's 'disco era' ...
proper live album needed from 1984....
got most years from 81 to 91....
