This review is the one that best expresses how I feel about it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is not directed to people that dont like them. It’s to the people that send them death threats and and bring up tom at every turn. Dont think any band care if someone thinks their music is not their cup of tea
Great point. Some of the garbage they get thrown at them is truly vile. I would be pissed too!
really well thought out review man, agreed!! would highly recommend you check out Plagues- really enjoy their music and released a new single in october which is definitely a new fave.
Sam’s lows are underrated asf
💯
To be honest this song is my first encounter with Architects - all I had heard before was folks saying don't start with the later / latest stuff as they had, putting it politely, gone off the boil.
I had therefore not explored their music at all until this song - which weirdly hit every one of my favourite reactors in the last week.
I also didnt love Classic Symptoms. FTTWTE is my favorite album from them(sarilege to some, I know) so its not the departure from style, it just didnt resonate with me. And thats okay! Cause FTTWTE is still there and I still listen to that album all the time. Holy Hell, AOGHAU, LF//LT, theyre all still there. I can go listen to them if I want. A lot of the -core community doesnt understand that, frankly, their opinion isnt worth shit. None of us are entitled to have our favorite bands make the music we want them to make. Saying we dont like something is fine, not every piece of music is for everyone. Demanding the artist make the music you want or harassing them if they dont is not okay. We dont go demand Ed Sheeran learn to scream and make a deathcore album. We shouldnt do it to Architects either.
I like the song, but I feel bad that I do honestly. I dont think this is some massive fuck you to the haters, I think its more so "fine, heres what you wanted, please stop harassing us", and that sucks.
those kicks tho - noice
The same thing happened with Emmure.. everyone was mad because they weren't writing the same depressive music like they did in the beginning
You gotta listen the new trophy eyes record bro
Had similar feelings about the last album, David. I wouldn't say all or even most of their discog with and immediately following Tom is necessarily 'downer' but something I see as sort of a spotlight on current world issues with scathing, aggressive lyrical commentary. Seeing Red is definitely a take on SOME 'fans' perspectives, but maybe fails to hit on some of TRUE fans real gripes and expectations with the band's content. The vibe I get from them these days is not the same vibe I had when I got my 'A' tattoo on my arm, that's for damn sure.
glad even if its for one song that we get the non-radio architects
if your making more up beat stuff the bleh is going to sound off if he adds it.
I dunno. When you start making music calling out haters, you've kind of reached your Otep era.
Agreed. Nobody is hating on them because they've changed. People are hating on them because they're the millionth metalcore band to put zero effort into their songwriting and just make their songs build around a bland made for octane hook. Architects have no one to blame but themselves for their haters. Same with parkway drive.
@@Rob_CaryNo this song is about the people who've sent death threats and whatnot. Ignoring your opinion on the music itself, there's never any reason to go that far. Not deserved.
I haven't paid enough attention to this band because of how boring they've become to even know that they ever threats like that. No, I don't condone that and anybody that would get THAT mad over something any band is doing clearly has mental issues that need addressed immediately. But let's be real here, architects have been super salty about all of the response to their made for octane laziness and the response is earned.
