In the mid-1990-'s, I was lucky to complete most of a sort of electronics 'refresher" , when in my early forties. I attended classes taught by Del Kusilek and by the late, great Mr. Ed Merwin. Ed was a Hammond ace, and did repairs & restorations on Hammonds all over the upper midwest. Helluva character, too. I'd been a radar tech in the military 20 years earlier, but had soon become intent on working on guitar amps mainly, & had later enrolled in the college classes in order to study audio, which isn't really a part of radar training. I had to drop out of the tech course, after getting as far as the 2nd semester of my 2nd year, due to a heavy personal-debt load. I missed the parts of the course where Hammonds were studied. But ever since then, I've had some curiosity about the workings of a Hammond, and in particular the role & function of the tone wheel & tone oil. Do you have any videos about tone wheels, or are you planning to make one? I found this video to be so engaging, I liked & subscribed. Thank you for what you are showing all of us. I'm fairly in awe.

Wd40 is great for locks, hinges, and the like. As it is a chemical and not oil-based, I’ve found it causes problems with gears and more sensitive components. Bite the bullet and clean things up with appropriate spray(s) solvent and then oil with Hammond lubes!

Yeah I would absolutely NOT use WD40 on something like this. After a week or so it starts getting sticky and dust gets stuck to it and it causes more problems than it was meant to fix.

Erm, you say connect power to terminal 3 and 4....but what one does negative go to? Is 3 positive 4 negative or 3 negative and 4 positive??? Thanks for the video

I guess in AC it doesn't matter since current is alternating? Confused.

You are connecting to110 volt A/C (alternating current) so there is no + or -. That's only with DC (direct current).
A/C current has "hot" and "neutral" and it doesn't matter how they connect to terminals 3 and 4...just one wire to each.. Hope this helps...

Google "electric current" and study up on how electricity works. Electricity can be lethal so make sure you fully understand it before you attempt anything in this video. Best Wishes.

AC is alternating. The wide prong is the neutral in your receptacles which is connected to ground in your breaker box. It won't matter for your organ because it is isolated by a teansformer.
