To clarify, of course I have again in the past "disagreed" with Joe's reviews and scores, we come from different eras and backgrounds, I cannot expect the guys to be my "echo", they have their opinions and I will still gonna enjoy the show despite some of those opinions not agreeing with my views. I mean, I find Superman to be the laziest superhero writing :P

I definitely agree the ending was rushed and that the second half was weaker but overall this is a dam good show. Now maybe had it been week to week I’d feel differently but being able to binge it all at once probably made it even more enjoyable

It's very easy to understand why Lucy ends up being at the same places. There really isn't anywhere else for her to look for her dad except the major towns. It's not like they have that many places to go

This is supposed to be big dangerous wasteland but they ran into each other. Which also makes it feel less dangerous! It’s very uneven tone show!
Also the relationship between Vault 31-32-33 made the plot hole how the raiders got in ep 1 worst!
There's a difference between locating a major town, and being able to CONVENIENTLY be everywhere she needs to be; needle in a haystack after needle in a haystack. Replicating Rise of Skywalker for plot conveniences isn't the play
When I and a friend randomly end up having to go to the same place at the same time I still usually learn about it afterwards because I managed to somehow miss them - but maybe I'm just unlucky
@@HappyLarry.That's a valid criticism up until Filly, then she gets the head and places a tracker in it, providing reason for her appearances at the later segments of the story. The Ghoul was also shown tracking and gathering information to justify his appearances and Maximus and Thaddeus had a radiation tracker. All of this justifies the character's appearances across the show.
I mean isn't this a game adaptation? This is how the plot in the fallout games goes. Player character is always in the right place at the right time to further the plot because, its the player character. Realistically, in a post apocalyptic wasteland filled with radiation and mutated creatures, you wouldn't really be able to find someone or track someone. Hell, there probably wouldn't be anyone. That just doesn't make a good story to tell/experience. I feel like the story here is SUPPOSED to feel like a video game plot because of the source material. AJ and the team are a bit too critical, imo, when reviewing adaptations.
P.S. in the future can you guys write down your scores separately from each other on a card or something that way when you guys all hold up your scores it doesn't end up looking like you guys just tagged on the other persons score and opinion. It would help y'all look honest vs the fear of not wanting to be the odd man out.
I think it was fair, the finale was weaker than the first half of the series. Still the most faithful video game show ever made.
I agree with some of the points posed by the army, and AJ and the gang. I personally gave the show an 8/10 because some of the characterisation, inconsistencies, forced beats, etc. The production values are great, they're pretty faithful to the lore and it's a decent plot overall. That said, I don't think it really reaches a 9 or 10 as an aggregate.
I didn't think you guys not liking the second half was such a big deal..
I personally enjoyed the show, but I definitely think a few changes could make it better for me.

Okay Joe, personally your second vid on fallout disappointed me but whatever. You was right I wasn't as gripped by the last 4 as I was by the first 4. Literally Cooper and the vault 33 held my attention.
Now personally I don't think Vault tec dropped a bomb, I think that was used to give cooper the reveal about his wife being evil. Because at the end with Hank, he asks where his family is. Which is weird considering we saw him with his daughter in the opening prologue of the show as the bombs went off.
Plus, new Vegas, I'm pretty sure Mr House is dead. Though I don't know what the cannon ending is. Plus, at the end, new Vegas looks abandoned.

I only ever buy ubisoft game disks for consoles since on pc it literally locks you out without being able to sign in if you dont have a account or are offline, but with the disc switching off the internet on your console for a second skips sign in screens.

It's just an opinion, and accompanied by explanation why this and not other rating. I strongly disagree with guys' rating of the show, it was consistently 8 - 9 to me, but still was interesting to hear what their gripes are. Why are people not able to just chill and hear what others have to say? We don't need to make it a tribalistic echo chamber around here.

It's one thing when there are flaws. It's another thing when the criticism is based on a fallacy. He made a big deal about how the tracker is not explained when there is a whole scene dedicated to it. He complained that they all kept meeting up, even though they were all going in the same direction, to the same place, for pretty much the same reason.
It was very clear that they were tired after watching movies and TV shows back to back and were just not paying attention. They also criticized the show for changing the lore when the show is perfectly consistent with the lore.
Anyone else feel that bioshock could be made into a great series as well?

If Amazon raise the price on all products by 100% ok. Two hour 8 episodes cost alot of money. I even see why they did not include the protectron which is a Fallout staple droid. No Deathclaw which I can understand but not rad Scorpion. Fallout can be a sc-fi horror if written right.

Many people are still looking through Rose Tinted Glasses. People finally have a decent Fallout product and are being unfairly defensive for fair criticism. After Failout76, the franchise is in desperate need of a 10/10 product. Perfection isn't made by being dishonest or deliberately ignoring criticism. My main issues with the Fallout series were the brief moments were the plot is pushed in an unbelievable manner, and some other minor things.
Example: Lucy running from Cooper just to get recaptured because she stands still. My entire family was yelling at the screen, "KEEP RUNNING STUPID"!
The CGI was also not very good in the initial episodes. The comedy was great in some scenes, and not so good in others. I totally agree that the constant changing of hands was obvious in the second half and the cohesion was noticeably lacking. The immature comedy in vault 4 fell flat, and the romance scenes were bordering obnoxious. The final fight scene was also not very satisfying.
It was a Good show, not a Great one, Excellent one, etc. It was Good. 7/10 is a fair assessment. If people want the show to genuinely improve into a Titan of Cinema; they will need to show some integrity. Fallout can be a world-wide phenomenon if given the proper treatment. That doesn't mean licking the shows boots!!! That means pointing out the garbage and fixing it!

About the Fallout review. i enjoyed the show id give a 8/10. My biggest problem was the convenient meetings and arriving at the same locations but i always just explained it as its a game lol

I agree with some of their negative points. Maximus was the weakest link of the season, although I still liked him, his plot armor was absurdly ridiculous and he does some questionable things. Thaddaeus was at least somewhat interesting with his run in with the chicken defiler then turning into a ghoul. I really liked Lucy, she isn't annoying and knows how to be a badass when she has to. Her naivety isn't her being dumb but just how she was raised. The idea of vault tec somehow starting the nuclear war was interesting because their motivation was to wipe the world clean then emerge as the last faction of earth to restart humanity under their thumb. What's interesting is if they were to raise humanity from the ashes with the vaults under their conditioning, there would be no outside force to oppose them ever, and they could essentially rule the world. obviously there were unforeseen variables but its so diabolically evil that I was on board. I personally really enjoyed this season and I'm pretty critical of things myself, but I was able to look past the flaws. I think the first season is an 8/10 I'm usually in agreeance with these guys but not this time and that's okay. I still like the work you guys do and I'm all for a healthy debate!

Show was afraid to portray him as ambitious man who would go to any lengths to get what he wants(imagine if he was the one who puts razor in the boot, and never tells Lucy his real name after vault 4). I like the ambiguity of the first bomb drop. It's more compelling to me than a solid answer. Sure, it denies us of a truth, but does it really matter when those cultures are now gone? We're left with half remembered permutations of the same kinds of trashy human ideologies and it's like...war never changes.
I don't remember it explicitly being said that Valt-tec drops a bomb. It's fielded around though. It was an idea they could persue. I could see them instigating someone to drop something. Feels plausible in that kinda megacorpo private contracting capitalism way. The original Fallout creators have revealed it too.Tim Cain said It was China because of the US's FEV experimenting. They had varying opinions. That's kinda fun. It's almost like they couldn't come to a conclusion but these were all the ideas that could've led to it. I think there's a small problem in media these days with over explanation of things rather than leaving it to the people's imaginations. Especially in reboots/reimaginations/spin-offs/etc..it's too much.
There was a lot of growing desperation in the pre-war world building, the ongoing resource wars, collapsing nations, the ever losing and growing desperation of China. The States propagandic facade of normalcy and energy dominance. The warmongering...
Interesting that Lucy, her mother, etc, is a seemingly do-good force despite the nefarious forces behind her existence. This grey area messaging is fun. The megacorp weirdos got to have their fun and see what happened. Perhaps these vaults could still produce some alright folks..
I feel like the biggest mistake was splitting it into 2 videos, sure it was great for the views, but it split your good reactions, with your negative reactions in the second video. So people went into video 2 they were kinda just put off by the sudden negativity I guess. For some reason this show in particular is really dividing, there is the super fans who are 10/10 best show ever, the Fallout 1 and 2 ride or die, and lore nerds who give it 1/10 both of which are stirring the pot in order to bring each other down. Both sides are simultaneously over-critical, and under-critical. As a video game adaption is a 9/10, as a regular viewer it is probably a 7/10. People are mad at the review because they expect you to take their side as your the internets main barometer for the good shit and the bad shit. This whole conflict is bullshit.

It doesn't fully respect the lore. It breaks a few key characters, changes a faction and a creature is written in a weird way.

You are 100% right that there were some small plotholes and when we watched the final episode with my wife we were like "wtf is going on", so for sure it isnt perfect. ESPECIALLY with the new vegas plotholes and basically copying the usual bethesda fallout game plotline - find family member, he has THE macguffin, thats just classic lazy bethesda writing
Joe its a snowball effect because theres a lot of big creators singing its praises and since you guys have an actual opinion and reasons behind it, it bothers people. Me personally I also think fallout tv series is a 7 and I think as a big fan I think its good. But the problem I can't shake is the hardcore lore accurate fans dislike the show a lot, and general fans like us who have played a lot of it but not 100% hardcore about the lore that isn't in your face, like for example the battle in alaska is mentiones I think a couple times in the show which is cool. But those people like me and you guys think it's average. And people who barely or never played this game love this show. And you guys are critics who watch a lot of different films and have seen different films. I think that's what it really is about, the show does a good job at suspension of disbelief.

@jorvanbrooks7597 I agree that in these situations the best remedy is to shut up and hope the riots die down while learning from the mistake subtly, however I like Joe BECAUSE he communicates with his community and acknowledges the most burning issues (except for why he wont timestamp his news videos.) You can argue he is very Passive Agressive in this , but I'm glad he's taking a moment to clarify parts the "haters" seemed to overlook, even if I didnt watch the review, nor the show.

What I'm basing this on is a recent thing where in the early days of AJnews both me and my young nephew loved your show and loved your opinions. 9 times out of 10 we seemed to agree totally with your reviews.
As time has gone on ive seen areas where we differ, I'm NOT a DC fan for instance and so often I'm not in agreement with big Joe on superman etc, and my nephew who's a huge manga fan amongst many other things that to be honest I don't always agree with either has a few times said "yeah AJ can get annoying with his reviews, i really dont agree with his stuff, but I still like him "
What's happening I think is opinions of those you LIKE and follow matter a whole lot more to you when you're young, basically you're still a kid right? At least that's how I see it, I was a big kid right through my early twenties lol( if I'm honest! Maybe further than that)
Anyway point being , you tend to be WAAAY more harsh in your reaction to someone who doesn't agree when you're young, and as you get older you realise it DOESNT MATTER. .. lots of things just DONT MATTER and you learn to just enjoy things for what they are and not to take things seriously. Accept your friends might not enjoy the things you do no matter how many times you try to convince them or visa versa. That's just how we all are and you learn this more and more as you AGE like a decaying apple lol😂
And don't forget the way you review and critique something ALSO changes as you get older, you're less likely to overlook the odd moment just because you WANT something to be fantastic. When you're young you're much more of a "fan" if you get me. I for one was a MASSIVE spiderman fan of comics for the longest time, a true fanboy type I think. I would overlook poor comics and art because I didn't want to dislike it I think. Looking back now I can see where certain stories or artworks just weren't as good as my memory of them.

To be fair the Tracker thing was crazy they missed it in FO. It was not only shown for a minute, she references it like five+ times an episode from that point on.
It sure is interesting how Joe and Other Joe attempt to backpedal by saying "WE DID MENTION THE TRACKER!!", even when it's clearly obvious that Joe COMPLETELY disregarded that the tracker was in Wilzig's decapitated head and that was how Lucy was able to follow Thaddeus' trail.

Fallout was mid, 5/10. It's going to age like Starwars TFA, hype immediately after it came out; but given time the Fallout paint will peel revealing a rusty pile.
I'm hesitant to say it's better than SW TFA because I'm much more of a Fallout fan and I had a lot of " :D hey! It's a ________, I recognize that".
The best way to describe the show is that someone spent a lot of time researching Fallout through memes and made the show from that.
I very much disagree with your guys’ opinion on Fallout but it’s subjective. Hard seeing people be so harsh when you guys are one of the few 100% honest reviewers out there these days.

Ever since they were all so adamant Twisted Metal was a spit on the face to people I don't take it seriously when it comes to video game adaptations. Twisted Metal is a super fun adaptation that is light and easy to watch and they acted like it was Rings of Power. Fallout is nothing short of amazing, so giving it a 7 is just insane.
It makes sense why big review websites give everything 7/10s or higher nowadays. It's just easier than having to deal with angry nerds.
If they are allowed to be harsh in their reviews. It's only fair people are allowed to be harsh back in reviewing them. Goes both ways.

As someone who decently enjoyed the show, i wached the final review and it bummed me out. I dont want Joe to change their review. I didnt downvote it. I checked the comments, everyone seemed to disagree with Joe and I just left the video. Yall are allowed to have opinions, its just how these things happen. I love Joe and team! Keep it up.

I truly love you guys, but I have a serious question. How can you criticize WotC as a crap company and then be such fanboys of Games Workshop? GW has been a company that milks its fanbase using bad game design / predatory marketing for decades. They were doing much of the same things that people came to hate WotC for doing, but way before WotC did it.

I personally loved the Fallout series. I dont much about the lore and onky played FO4 but I do understand and respect all three of your opinions from a different prospective. I gave it a 9/10.
Fallout is mediocre at best, just like Andor it shines because everything else is a disgrace for it's franchise.
The negativity from the Fallout Part 2 review seems exaggerated. I thought it was a solid 8/10 show and I agreed with almost everything that was discussed. The only reason I would rate this show higher than 7/10 is because I enjoyed the show more than some of the storylines in the most recent Fallout games.
The blend of character from the isometrics and the Bethesda 3d style was handled really well. the 3d games.

Gotta agree completely. Really liked FO; probably an 8/10 for me too. I'm not quite sure how anyone can call it a 10/10, so what are people getting mad about? A 7/10 instead of an 8/10 or 9/10? Come on people.
I really liked the series. Even my wife watched it to the end and enjoyed it.
As good as it is, I will have to concede that because there isn't a lot of good stuff being made. The 8 out of 10 seems well justified in comparison to the rest of the crap out there.
The show is definitely 8/10 and a 7/10 rating is justified. But if you listen to the review most of it is them criticizing it. Some of the criticism is just factually inaccurate. Like Joe complaining the tracker is poorly explained. When there is a whole scene for it. Joe complaining the lore of the bomb is change, when it's not. Saying the second half of the show is worse than the first. That an opinion, hard to argue with just an opinion, but the vast majority of people just disagree. I think the show had a consistent tone and became more interesting. Most viewers seemed to have that opinion.

I understand and welcome it if you someday decide to change a score of a movie that you rewatched and realized you kinda liked it more on rewatch or something like that. Your game reviews are bangers but your movie and tv show reviews are often bombs. I legitimately think you guys don't pay enough attention and that this is a trend across several reviews while also being way harsher on specifically TV series. This is not meant to be an insult but rather an observation that I believe you guys have a shorter than average attention span.

I do think some (not all!) of the blowback is people not understanding that your guys's scale has 5 as average(as it should be). Alot of the other critics would have 7 as average so to them 5 is shit, it probably has to do with how in school anything below 60 is failing.

I think splitting the review was the issue. I think if they had one review at 7/10 people would accept it better. They didnt like seeing the last 4 being a 6/10 triggered people.
I think people just need to grow some balls and chill out a little. They didnt enjoy the 2nd half as much as the first, theyre allowed to not have the same opinions as everyone else, thats why we subscribe to see what THEY think,even if we may disagree.
