how do you get the cooldown for the leap to be 0 seconds?
First off just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to help people like me with videos like this. I'm somewhat new to Diablo 4 and I've been looking around for a Barb build and a few of my friends told me about your channel, my question is could or would this build work in pvp ? Pvp is my main focus this season
This build is almost unethical in PVP, if some one so much as looks at you funny they drop dead lol
Out of curiosity, do you think a Bash Barb build would be better then Thorns build for PvP ? 😮
@Dalkoragaming I can verify this. I am running this build and last night I went into the pvp zone. A guy(barbarian) was waiting at the city entrance just trying to gank people. He tried to pull me as I rode past him and his pull killed him from my thorns. He accused me of hacking, lmao.
One correction to his build, if you’re running two handed axe expertise, it does not stack with two handed axe on your weapon. The reason you run a two handed axe is because of the intrinsic damage to healthy stat and since it swings slower, the damage is slightly higher
You do get the vulnerable bonus twice, this is a common missconception about how the Barbarian weapon arsenal system works.

Hello, Thank you for all of the content. I am playing on console and have been enjoying playing thorns. My rumble/earthquake stack is capped at 5. What do I need to do to gain more stacks? Also, do you think thorns is more pc friendly vs console? I have 4 resplendent sparks that I can either buy a Shako with and go bash or I can buy a doombringer to continue playing thorns.
Doombringer is a big health & damage buff but Shako is very versatile in any class. I see no other usage for Doombringer as here. So choose wisely 🙂

Higher pit need higher amount of health, so your doombringer will not be wasted in many build

Do you still think 2 handed axe is the best choice for your weapon?
Would the melted heart of Selig work with this build? Seems like you could be more tanky
What aspect would you replace it with?besides this build with the Doombringer its already tanky enough
Can someone please reply with an answer when you are master working your gear for this build? What do you ideally want to hit with that +25%? Is it life on everything? Is there something that would be an automatic reset if you don’t hit it like what are you looking for?
Life is what you really want. Life directly scales your thorns dmg and adds to your survivability.

Every item for first four levels, hit life or + levels to that passive that give you percentage hp you keep it otherwise reset
Playing this build myself, for anyone wanting to do this build. It is fun, but very slow until you get a lot of cooldown for leap.
There is one massive weakness to this build however, you can not do all bosses. For example uber Andariel, you cant kill the effigies as they don't attack.
There are a lot of other bosses that attack very slow, or mainly use mechanics that don't count as a direct attack from the boss. So you end up having to quit the run, wasting a lot of time.
Really? I wonder if there’s a way to fix that somehow with some minor tweaks then 🤔
@@wdemon85 I think there are some build variants that can do some damage, but they probably sacrifice higher level pits. We need loadouts in the game
I think the bash + thorns variant will do a better job in pits maybe up to level 110/120 beyond that you will have to go to the jump variant and fish for bosses that can be killed in less than 10 minutes.
@@garethg2501 yeah looks like maybe the frenzy variant on mobalytics is the way to go for the pit or the bash version

have you tried doing duriel with this? i havent been able to do significant dmg to him after the recent patch
you need to pull the little maggot mob to you so needless aspect can proc for massive damage to Duriel. Rinse repeat. Little tricky to see them before they attack you from distance and die
I have with this build with equipment mastered to 7-8 and he is 3 hits if you get the sequence right
I have giant strides but my leap cd doesnt reset even on boss what am i doing wrong?

How can you leap in place so fast? My leap doesn‘t go off imediately if I don‘t move click somehwere else in between, even tho it is of cd
Leap cd needs Tobe less than 9 secs. Then you need to bind force move to your mouse wheel and use it. It's located in the key bindings. So you leap, then use force move to cancel leap animation and that will let you cast leap immediately again.
put leap on right click while frenzy on left. rapid right click while holding left click will do
Hi! I'm a new player, please help. I'm doing a thorn build, but even with capped resistance and armor I got too much incoming damage. How do you heal out your incoming damage? I tried lvl 99 nightmare dungeons and I was deleted, almost one shot by the first, not even big mob on the map.
what lvl are you?
@@Neededtita1 I'm ít lvl 92, when I wrote the comment I was about lvl 85. I completed my first nightmare dungeon, but it was hell, my healing was very low.

You need cooldown reduction on your helm and amulet. Then you need brawler cooldown tempers on both rings. And finally you need boots with + leap and leap cooldown reduction tempering. Try to get leap cooldown to 9 seconds then you have perma leaps on bosses
@@chocoslice92 Ick. I did not know that so many different pieces of gear had to be obtained before getting the insta-leap.
I stumbled onto a pretty helpful tip for masterworking for the thorns build. Most people find a perfect item, then masterwork it. But i noticed that if you masterwork something to 4/12 for the 25% bonus, you can reroll that blue stat(with the 25% buff) to whatever you want and it keeps the 25% bonus. For instance, your item might have STR, %DMG, and LIFE PER SECOND. Life per second is bad for the thorns build so you want to roll that stat off. But Diablo seems to love screwing us over on masterworking. So, if you leave the useless stat on there Diablo will probably try to screw you and it will boost the useless stat. Then you can reroll that stat, lol.
How much life i need for that build?
my character will not leap fast for some reason they take forever to stand up between leaps.
how to deal with bosses? its basically the chokepoint for me now, at around 110pit. It takes up to 6-7min to kill them now
Unfortunately, this is the chokepoint of the build. Better gear rolls can push you higher, but it is going to be slow going.
You have the skill Gound stomp on weapon but no ground stop on the skill tree. Correct me if I am wrong buy how does that work?
It's for the damage boost while standing in earthquake part of that aspect. This boost works with the earthquakes created from leap.
You create the earthquakes through leap, not ground stomp. You still get the passive buff regardless of the source of the Earthquake :)
@@Dalkoragaming I am level 67 and have yet to find chieftans or giant step, are they that rare?
there is no imposing presence on helm and pants is there? if you check the possibilities on tempering it doesnt show imposing presence on head and pants.
It's a defensive temper and can be on Helmet, Chest, Pants & Amulet.

@@Smashingg it's not useless, but a good 2-3 GA helm can be better though.
@@Smashingg I run the build with shako just fine (because I already had it) and it gives the roughly the same stats as the ideal legendary. I drop the basic attack DR aspect. It gives a better HP boost, adds levels to all of your shouts for bigger bonuses and steel grasp/leap for improved cooldowns.
Why doesnt my leap trigger earthquake? What am i missing? I got the earthquake "enchant"

one question....as i am watching several videos on the tube and seeing that MANY ppl say that is mandatory have at least GA on every piece on the max life to make build performant wanna ask if this is true or not......coz certain time looking for that star is a bit frustrating xD

i have a similar issue, seen also other comments mention that their builds dont do that much damage and struggle in the pits even below 100. as a solo player that doesnt have a doombringer yet, i think where max life is important is in these uber boss fights where you just have to stay alive no matter what. with imposing presence and doombriger, these max life GA bonuses scale crazy, so id say its pretty important to have them. i have been farming helltide for the last few days and still missing some GAs on my eq… also im still mowing through the pits to get all the masterworking upgrades, as they seem to really improve barb in the solo uber boss duels.
edit: oh and obviously the more HP the more thorns, which is the main dmg output
@@cuptanp.r.2229one max life health gaffix with a masterwork hitting on hit max hp gives you 7k hp 😂 so yeah

You don't need the healing. Your shout heals you.
So the only way to do high tier pit with thorns is with leap which sucks on controller?
I've been playing this build on controller it's actually not bad u just gotta use the lock on feature or get used to free aiming it although the boss fights are actually scuffed asf my tip u gotta just jump in place pop a skill or just move a little forward or else ur just stuck after the leap animation :/ but its doable

I threw this together half ass with most of everything aspects minus a few key stats on certain parts with all the targets at least one one doombringer and a max aspect razorplate and this slapped a high 90s NM in minutes.
How did you make them vulnerable?

its not working with low cdr. if you cant jump every second, this build doenst work. my cd is 5sec, it doenst work on bosses.
i use this build, i easy run to boss about 3-4min but why its so weak to boss damege in pit 90 i kill it about 10min, i play in controler so i think this is pc build because i cannot target boss with leap
How do you kill bosses? I've been finding it to be slow with this build. Unless they summon minions, but I've had boss fights where they don't summon at all
sharpshooter and bramble dont really proc thorns so its an instant leave for me
@@blastthps Okay, I wasn't sure if I was missing something. I was following a build of a guy who cleared pit 130 with a thornsbuild and I was so confused how it worked, because some of the bosses I went up against just wouldn't die
@@Fengocityhe probably leaves when he has those bosses as well some build really do that its not only the case for thorns. Some builds have hard time killing certain bosses so they leave and reset
Ok so im playing this build on console and can anyone tell me what im doing wrong because every now and then my barb would just stun himself after leaping and 100% be stunned after every single leap on a boss like hes getting fatigued or something?
Its not a stun effect either because my skilled dont get faded out like they would and have to use an unstoppable he just leans over like hes tired
I think that might be a bug I´ve seen in another video where you have to force move after leaping. Doing this should solve the problem if its that what im thinking about.
@@MuederJoe777 yes it is I figured out that I have to move my character between each jump but need to be careful because I'd end up leaping miles way from the boss, on top of that "inner calm" doesn't work that well if I'm needing to do that as I'm not getting the 30%, but regardless I'm having loads of fun with the build hitting up to over 2bil in a few cases.

Leap is not supposed to do dmg.
I’m running into the issue of needing my defensive tempers for more resist so I can cap them instead of Imposing presence
That should not be the case. You are doing something wrong imposing presence gives you hp i wouldnt change that with anything on the build
only problem is you gotta leave if you get sharpshooter or bramble (hopefully this gets fixed) but other than that very strong and fun build
Yeh the maurader sucks to do too, though this is the same for quite a few builds across all classes.
@@Dalkoragaming I agree but it can make for some difficult farming that's why I've made another barb and I am going with bash for pit farming then just use thorns for uber bosses or partially afk in helltide boss
Thorns while fortified does not reflect in tooltip. It may or may not be working. You only have the bonus with fortify shield and it does have a higher range for scaling but if you land tough as nails you can take it
I noticed it doesnt say your thorns has increased, but it seems to increase damage in-game still, should be fine
Whenever I leap it doesn’t get reset?
Giant strides resets your cooldown when you hit 5 enemies or a boss.
I have the on my necklace and it isn’t resetting it

Thorns isn’t as good for console is it as you can’t spam leap cancel??
Use basic attack or tap joystick move to spam it, just don't leap while the joystick is moved.
Love your builds! Ant chance for an alternative to Leap like maybe ground stomp? Leap is unreliable as hell on controller
It's still unclear to me how can you achieve that instant leap cooldown reset, I couldn't achieve less than 4 secs cooldown
make sure you're hitting atleast 5 enemies or a boss and have a base CD of 9 seconds or less.
@@Dalkoragaming Thanks! I figured out that having more cooldown reduction in the jewlery helped a lot. I'm gettin there.
Another question, why don't you spend 1 point in hamstring to the the crowd control dmg from bleeding?
@@simoneobe4284check out your leap from the skills on bottom its cooldown should be below 9 it can even be 8.85 it will perma reset if you hit a boss with it

It's that ring. Well the aspect of that ring. I had the same question, I still need to research to see if I have it, and if not how to get it.
Ooops - he mentions the ring somewhere around half way through the video. Pause the video and read what the aspect does CAREFULLY. I almost missed it, but after reading it 3 or 4 times I finally got how it works.
Nice video! I have now made an incredibly fun build which clears pits um to 70 so I can farm all the mats I need but can't kill the ubers lol. It's a Bash-thorns build with spawning dust devils when shouting which is really cool in dungeons and helltides.

I built a thorn Barb, it is amazing. However the boss experience is terrible, rng for killing. I reached tier 97 pit.
the one season i didnt play Barb due to Frozen orb d2 nostalgia...thorns ( my fav ) is owning ...FRAAACKKK

I think what a lot of people are missing on thorns build is the use of flay and rupture. It covers the weaknesses regarding speed and bossing

I've gotta be missing out on something crucial, or you've largely exaggerated "you've seen people do 130's with this". 94 Pits is the most difficult thing. I have ridiculous gear, majority of everything is GA gear. My Razorplate has 3 GA's on it. I have Doombringer. I have everything to the guide to the T. I have great rolls on tempers. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this kills any boss in the pit.
I'm having the same problem, just not doing damage. It could take 5 hours to finish a boss. If you find the answer please reply.

me too man ... spend so much time and gold on this whole build because it was something else for a change than all the bash builds. i have the uber, great tempers and rolls, the exact same paragon and even a pit 100 is insanely hard with this... when i see sharpshooter and that brawler i just have to bail out because the only dmg it takes is my earthquakes... him calling this build busted is just straight up lie.. he even saying hes doing it with sucky gear to top it off.. go with bleed bash if you have the grandfather
So to start with I was incredibly impressed with this You can walk through high level pits like its nothing But now that i got to around 60 the pits are easy but this build cant damage the bosses at end of pits at all Making it not really any good for pits Works good in helltide and other spots But now that the equipment is leveled up to 8 I cant get any materials to go past 8 Not sure what i would be doing wrong as I literally have every recommended equipment from the build and even got lucky with the roles in 90% of it Missing one eartquake duration and have earthquake size and missing 1 thorns when fortified and got tough asnails instead

I don't see why not, but honestly I've never played with a controller.
I play on ps5 and it works, just gotta adapt to the movements when cast

It's no needed no, Jortiz with some greater affixes can actually be stronger than shako for the particuler version of Bash.
cant kill any bosses late game with this..

I was already running thorns and i can't get my Life higher than 80k and i was getting one shot by Uber Duriel, i was gonna cry lol my gear is pretty good just not masterworked a lot.
That makes a lot difference my hp while having no buffs 198k it becomes 350k with elixirs etc and this build hit druiel for +4billions 😂 its like i only created this build for bullying druiel
@@gullyfoyle9165 Im not hitting billions tbh, i can got health up to 130k. I believe the most i hit for 19-30mil. I just got Melted Heart yesterday and put it on. I have been starting to masterwork but Materials are slow to get or im being lazy lol

having +ranks to imposing on your tempering is the difference

Last 10 years Never played alt in any game ...due to time i have for games anyway...if i get time to play more id rather play another game for the experience.
Nice build for trash mobs and low level pit. For higher pits is useless against solo bosses. Bad for uber bosses compared to other build as well.
Pls show the bossing. I gues it is one of the Build wäre you have to stand minutes and minutes at the boss to kill him … or is a Boss one Shot possible ?

The bosses takes time yes, focus on getting leap cd to 9,5sec and earthquakr duration up as high as possible. that helps the most
