    All this is just foreplay, give it 2-3 years when the Chinese masters EV and battery production (they are already so far ahead of everyone except tesla), you will see those cars at 25k usd with continued improved feature and performance compared to most legacy brand EVs. That will be the kill shot. The US will defend its brands by simply banning Chinese EVs to be sold or make the tax so expensive it’s unrealistic. The German luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW will be ok as they compete mostly in a different price category than the Chinese. It’s the VWs, Toyota, Honda, and Nissans that will get killed

    I don't understand how they can get 380kw of power from a Blade battery pack unless it is HUGE. BYD claims the C rate for maximum discharge is only 2C if you go to Alibaba to buy Blade cells, which would mean 190kwh pack (almost Hummer pack size) to get 380kw in this Han sedan. If it was really 190kwh, then the range should be well over 1200km instead of 715km. The obvious answer is that they are understating the C rate for Blade batteries on Alibaba, so a smaller pack like 100kwh can actually be pushed to almost 4C discharge. Why would a battery seller understate the spec like that ? The other answer might be that there is a small high-discharge pack in addition to the Blade pack for acceleration to get 380kw for brief periods. I'd like to know which.

    • @kirkellis4329
      @kirkellis4329 Год назад

      @@deepseer Most batteries are advertised as "Continuous Discharge Rate" separately from "Max or Pulse Discharge Rate". Different mfrs consider "Pulse" to be 10s, 30s, or sometimes only 5s. "Continuous" for the Blade is usually shown as 0.5C and "Max" as 2C. Other mfrs claim as high as 5C for their LifePO4, so it isn't a chemistry limitation, but BYD seems cautious with its claims. Which wouldn't matter except some cells have circuitry built into the cell to limit charge and discharge rates for safety, and if BYD is artificially limiting the output of cells it sells to other people to limit its liability, that might explain it. I just wouldn't want to use their cells in an EV conversion project.

    You DON'T KNOW, why people would care for a heated steering wheel? Come on now. Get your act together please! It is an essential part of creating a comfortable experience for the driver in the winter. Heated seats and a heated steering wheel drastically reduce the need to heat up the whole internal volume of the car, plus, a heated steering wheel will let you grip the wheel comfortably almost instantly after you turn on the car while heating up the interior and the entire IP takes lots of time and energy. It is a no-brainer really, and while I understand you have not had a similar experience in Australia to us Europeans, it is pretty basic knowledge. I am truly disappointed with that comment, it is ignorant. BYD reserving that for its top trim is also a very bad idea from them, especially in the EU. If you want, you can delete this comment as well, just like you did with the one where I mentioned that you have the price all wrong. 32K USD it is not. Over 70K EUR, is more like it. Not competitive at the moment.
