Sniffing Idoine Products purchase?
Thanks so much very helpful it's kind of what I do always need support thanks again
Yoga breathing exercising for exercise and zen meditation through the nose 👃 only is all she is talking about 😂
Key points from 15:00
-Learn to nose breath
- Keep your mouth shut- great advice
- Breath with you diaphragm
- slow your breathing down
Got it.
- 🫁 Oxygen clings to hemoglobin in the lungs, releasing in mitochondria.
- ⚖ Carbon dioxide balance is key for blood acidity.
- 💨 Over-breathing disrupts carbon dioxide.
- 🚶♂ Nose breathing retains carbon dioxide better.
- 🎶 Diaphragmatic breaths enhance respiratory efficiency.
- 🏃 Hyperventilation drains energy.
- 🧘 Buteyko: nose breathing, diaphragm use, slow rhythm.
- 🥇 Elite athletes use proper techniques for peak performance.
Thank you! great help.
@@user-wq6dy5gz8v Sure, maybe you can help me one day.

Ok Guys professor idiot here, now if like me you get a feeling that what Dr Sarah is saying is hugely important but you cannot quite understand everything or like me much at all then cut along to about 12.40 of the presentation and you too can benefit from the wisdom of what an amazing lady is getting at here ❤
and thank you Doc keep up the good works and please remember most of us are most of the time struggling with much difficulty keeping up with your brain 😊
The first part set the whole thing up. It is important to hear it and understand it.
Keep your mouth shut . Best advice I have ever heard from a Doctor. ❤
About 6 months ago I discovered that my body was having problems because I was never taught how to breath properly and why. The transformation in my 66 year old body is amazing. This video has taken me much further and I am very happy to finally know why my energy cycles are out of wack and how I can use this to gain more direct control of what is happening with that. Thank you very much!
Btw... A few months ago I realized there is a CO2 balance in the body/blood and that carbonated mineral water affects that. I was confused because I was assuming that more oxygen would give me more energy so how was carbonated water helping me be more energetic. Another dot connected, thanks again!
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 *💨 Breathing mechanics and oxygen delivery*
- Explains how oxygen gets from lungs to mitochondria via hemoglobin
- Carbon dioxide levels in blood determine oxygen binding to hemoglobin
- Proper carbon dioxide levels are crucial for efficient oxygen delivery
02:24 *❓ Inefficient human breathing evolution*
- Raises the question of why human breathing seems inefficient compared to fish
- The inefficiency is to maintain proper carbon dioxide levels
03:03 *😮 Overbreathing problems*
- Overbreathing driven by stress/adrenaline can disrupt carbon dioxide balance
- Leads to improper oxygen delivery despite high oxygen saturation
05:23 *👃 Mouth breathing consequences*
- Mouth breathing worsens carbon dioxide retention
- Can lead to dry mouth, tooth decay, altered jaw development
- Nose breathing is optimal for carbon dioxide retention
07:01 *🫁 Consequences of overbreathing*
- Contributes to snoring, sleep apnea, asthma
- Buteyko method helps by retraining breathing patterns
09:19 *🫁 Proper diaphragmatic breathing*
- Overbreathers use chest muscles instead of diaphragm
- Diaphragmatic breathing aids venous return and gut massage
12:44 *🧘 Buteyko breathing exercises*
- Nose breathing, using diaphragm, slowing breathing rate
- Helps increase carbon dioxide tolerance for better oxygen delivery
19:13 *🏃 Benefits for athletes*
- Example of Emil Zatopek's Olympic success with nasal breathing
- Contrast with Wim Hof's controlled hyperventilation techniques
21:30 *🌬️ Summary and recommendations*
- Breathe less by nose breathing, using diaphragm, slowing rate
- Practice regularly to retrain respiratory center's CO2 tolerance
- Check with controlled pause of 40-45 seconds before air hunger

Yes the content is fine for teachers with experience and practitioners of yoga
Glad to hear someone pronounce Iodine properly. Folks seem to pronounce the element like the tincture of iodine (as in dine at a diner) and alcohol that we used to use on wounds.
Excellent that explains science behind the Yoga pranayama breathing exercise.. in ancient Indian Yoga . Breathing is mastered and can creat a complete healing and superhuman experience…. Great doctor thank you so much…
Well structured and explained. I took several golden nuggets from this! Thank you!
That was awesome and revolutionary information for so many people who don't even think about this issue. Thank you so much! I'm a martial artist and my instructor and God-father had been telling me that for decades. He and I now also do Tai Chi Chun which is all about controlling the breath ( and the qi) while in movement. It's good to have a bit of science to confirm what I've been doing and even going a bit further than what I learned. Awesome, awesome awesome!! I hope people are paying attention to this. Great tip about the iodine. Did not know that one.
I have waited over twenty years to receive this information. Thank you so much. I have hyperventilated (a la Wim Hof/ Stan Grof and Leonard Orr - Sondra Ray) with impressive results. I have studied but not practiced Buteyko but no one has ever reconciled the two, not even James Nestor in his excellent book Breathe. Every morning I swim 500metres front crawl, tumble turn and complete 50m butterfly. There is only one way that this is possible - by complete energetically exhalation every second stroke. I am 72 years old. For this I have to thank Sean, the swimming coach at Grand Central Stockport. He is now national swimming coach for the Spanish team I believe. I am ecstatic at receiving the valuable information in this video. Dr Sarah you are my latest and most important life hero. Thank you again. xxx
For sniffing Iodine do you mean Neti Pot salt rinse of the nasal passages
Thank God for information like this from folk like you!
Thanks. B.K.S. Iyengar. LIGHT ON PRANAYAMA.
BRILLIANT TY
🙏Interesting and very helpful info, thank you! I'm practicing zone 2 running with nose breathing only recently. Feel good!
Yoga breathing techniques, especially alternate nostril breathing, have been around for 1000s of years. But it's extremely good to learn WHY they're so beneficial. Thanks Dr Sarah, great information !
Good Tips, thx!
Excellent presentation !!
Excellent insights, thanks so much
Learnt a lot. Thank you
To keep the nostrils clear, a steel Netipot is an effective device. Filling up the steel or copper netipot with salt(isotonic) solution and applying it to one nostril at a time will serve the purpose . Proper precautions should be taken while doing this . There is plenty of relevant information on the Internet about this beneficial practice 🎉
From what I have read, it is essential to use distilled water (or tap water that has been boiled at least 5 minutes) in the neti pot. Most manufacturers of the neti pot include this info in their instructions, but many do not. The right kind of water precludes the possibility of bacteria going into the sinuses & even the brain.
How does Dr Sarah explain the profound health benefit of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy over an extended period of treatment?
High pressure hyperbaric oxygen dissolves extra oxygen in the blood fluid serum. Bypasses the haemoglobin route entirely……..
People doing hyperbaric oxgen aren't hyperventilating, so I don't see any contradiction
A good pop sci explanation of HBOT can be found in Popular Science 2020 article titled 'Inhaling pure oxygen could keep your brain younger for longer'
Great content!
I am able to understand fully everything here. It took energy to process it, but folks, just work on your comprehension. Not sure what to tell you. Screenshot the slides and review them. Look through comments for bullet points.
In stead of avoiding dairy one could supplement NAC.
Lots of good info thanks
U r awesome. Thank-you
Great information! I am wondering is it good as a routine practice to hawk mucus to the back of the throat? Why or why not, and then secondly is it better to spit it out or swallow it? I have often wondered if collecting it and spitting it out is a good practice
Wow I found that insightful. It occurred to me it could be related to why feel the addiction to smoking to bring in more carbon to the blood stream and the effects with adrenaline to calm? The Native American's used the peace pipe to calm the nerves but many ancient cultures had breathing exercises. I have been using the oils to open airways up and I've been using pieces of seaweed to absorb in the mouth but perhaps a seaweed mask could be more effective used external on the face since it absorbs through the skin ? Wet and stick lol.
Super interesting!! Do you think appropriate breathing (breathing through nose and using abdomen diaphragm) help reduce the number of glycolytic muscle fibers, which form during hypoxia? Thanks!
She needs to get on the Rhonda Patrick or Peter Attia podcast. I've never heard of this. Breathing like pre-natal lamaze class, has allowed me to get back on the ice faster and also be able to stretch further and faster 2x a day. If this is correct, the increase in efficiency is not from my atp but from my increased Co2 in my blood?
I welcome more convo
You also recommend ingesting lugols iodine is this still the case as I am still taking this product.
What are your thoughts on wearing a mask and it's effects
This is based on Buteyko research. Its not the means to an end. On my channel here I post full unedited intense workouts that few can keep up with. I contradict lots of the oxygen advanced techniques but still hold a morning 40 bolt score and as high as 44. Theres more factors as play then Buteyko claims
Bit confused by the Buteyko and Wim Hoff methods being the opposite of each other. So which is recommended?
While there is a lot of good information here and I agree with most of it, I question the statement that people with LC are 'almost certainly hyperventilating'. There's a lot of overlap between LC and ME/CFS and hyperventilation has been studied in the latter. Natelson et al. [ (2022) 'Physiological assessment of orthostatic intolerance in chronic fatigue syndrome'] utilized capnography to measure end tidal CO2 in 32 ME/CFS patients and found the majority to be hypocapnic. Tachypnea (rapid breathing) was not present and the authors concluded that hypercapnia was the result of hypocapnea (deep breathing), but the volume of breath was not measured. I can tell you from observing a loved one with ME and chronic hypocapnia that hyperpnea is pretty unlikely. Science is about testing hypotheses, not making assumptions. People are suffering and it's time to get up and do some science instead of resting on assumptions. For the love all that is good - someone please actually study this problem. We might be able to help a lot of suffering people and learn something fundamental about human physiology along the way.
Wim Hof did not actually climb Mount Everest wearing only shorts and sandals.
While she offers some good breathing advice, keeping the mouth closed can also help with unwise speech. Just sayin.
How do you inhale iodine through the nose ?
We don't 'breath'. We 'breathe'. Breath is a noun.
Breathe is a verb.
Is Wimm Hoff then a bad breathing?
Bad. Because he's hyperventilating
All breath exercises have slightly different purposes. I heard the Wim Hoff breathing exercise is good for people who deal with depression while Butekyo’s method is great for people who deal primarily with anxiety. Also, I see Butekyo breathing as an overall lifestyle breath method which can be done 24/7 while Wim Hoff’s is only done for a few minutes.
@@LeanneAmiot I will check it out. Thanks.
Yogic breathing has innumerable benifits, which western medicine is now finding.
Oh you mean to do more pranayam but remember there are many different types of Pranayam
WHAT IS A SALT PIPE?. DOES A DIFFUSER WITH EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL AND H20 WORK AS WELL AS A SALT PIPE WITH IODINE????????????????????????????????
I’m curious what Wim Hof would say.
Smooth brain here. What does this mean for the benifits of Wim Hof breathing?
hofeyko
With 4 sites on each hemoglobin, you need to learn about how each of these sites are affected by not only oxygen and carbon dioxide, but all the other forms created by meds and atmosphere like carbon monoxide! Why it is almost impossible to fully oxygenate all body hemoglobin!
can we breathe out from mouth and breath in through nose or breath out should also be through nose please suggest
OXYTAP!! 1st in the world oxygen supplement is now available in the market. Prife International Distributor.
What color is hemoglobin before hemoglobin is oxygenigenated?
Green!
Go watch how the hemoglobin changes shape!
What about inhaling through your NOSE and exhaling through your MOUTH? Would that maintain proper O2 -CO2 levels in the blood?
What if you have COPD can you breathe as low as 2-3 breaths per minute??
What about oxygen chambers then? If I understand this video correctly, flooding the lungs/body with oxygen would be bad?
16:55 different types of acidity matter??
can someone compare this knowledge with Wim's Hof technics of 30 fast and deep inhale&exhale, pause 30 sec, then all repeated but with pause for 60 sec, then repeated but with pause 90 sec.
sorry, just found it at 20:00
Kinda right and kinda wrong.
Oxygen intake should be bound to the levels of electron acceptors available and heme capacity, which degreases with age, integrated stress, and advanced glycation.
NO2 and H2S ratios play a role, too.
Vasiyoga
I have air hunger . This could be why.
But when u exercise or play sport, u breathe a lot, then is this bad?
Is bad
Melatonin
Without or low carbon dioxide you hyperventilate.
Oxygen advantage
If Co2 not exist the O2 is not work ,is that true? If the answer yes how increase Co2?
Soma breath!!
You can't get to 100% on room air!
Don’t you want blood to be more alkaline because cancer prefers an acidic environment?
Why not state that these are her opinions or hypotheses? All this is presented as fact. No evidence offered. Is this evidence based medicine? No evidence that this is evidence based.
Anyone can excercise hard in cold and pose in shorts and sandals, but I want evidence that this guy “climber mount Everest in his shorts”
I want
Doesn't add up. I can't but feel being lied to. Either that or I'm not told something on purpose.
Nothing new info . Known long before butyesko .. found in Chinese tcm , martlial arts , taiji , Daoist breathing , in Indian yoga . Nice to hear the western science of why it’s beneficial. Here’s something extra , yes you’ll laugh 😂. Learn to raise , not clench raise your anus , when you breath in . After you learn that , read up on . Reverse 🔄 abdominal breathing
Hydergine - aka ergoloid , dihydroergotoxine. Massive increase of blood supply (therefore oxygen) to the brain. Too many other benefits to list, do your homework.
Crowded teeth in my jaw because I breath through my mouth ...... really ? 🤔
Yes. It changes the shape of the face quite dramatically, mouth-breathers have a characteristic look, they have receded chins for instance
I don't think that's the ONLY reason people have crowded teeth, nutrition is another, but it almost certainly is ONE of the reasons
And not enough vitamin D perhaps.
“Platelets literally glow red with oxygen.” Nope. Do doctors speak like scientists? Nope. Do doctors know why we do not breath in a loop as birds do? Nope. Are doctors intelligent? Nope. So many assertions, so little proof.
WAY to wordy, confusing, dragging, not getting to the point.
... for YOU
Too
I thought it was perfectly clear
Disagree
You spoke science for a good 3 minutes then went on to nonsense by relating a drop in insulin to the increase of adrenaline, relating this to "over breathing". I stopped here, the premise is faulty, everything else that follows can't lead to anything concrete. This video is for neurotics that breathe incorrectly but if this is you then you would have much more great and central issues in function than energy production at the level of mitochondria and this video would be pointless then too. There we have it, an embarrassing video from a doctor
Adrenaline causes hyperventilation.... That's why she talks about it.
This seems like a lot of ok advice wrapped in nonsense.
Getting Oxygen From Chamber is that Benefial ? If so, few times Monthly or NOT at All?
Why not state that these are her opinions or hypotheses? All this is presented as fact. No evidence offered. Is this evidence based medicine? No evidence that this is evidence based.
