YES!! It was his first single and a #1 hit. There’s an absolutely perfect live performance if it on DON KERSHNER’S ROCK SHOW. (Better audio and backing vocals than Midnight Soecial.)
They were one talented family. Each one had great voices, but together their harmony couldn't be beat. In 1978 they had 8 number 1 songs. They are the only group to ever have 5 songs in the top 10 at the same time. They still toured until the one of the twins, Maurice died in 2003 from complications from surgery. They not only wrote their own songs but wrote for many other famous artists. Sadly Andy died young, at the age of 30 from myocarditis, heart disease. They are the third top selling artist of all times. I grew up with their music and still love listening to them.
Just to let you know, for history's sake, The Beatles had all of the top 5 records on the Billboard Hot 100 the week of April 4 in 1964. They were: 1. Can't Buy Me Love 2. Twist and Shout 3. She Loves You 4. I Want to Hold Your Hand 5. Please Please Me They also had 5 songs still in the top 10 the next week, but the slots were 1, 2, 4, 7, 9.
Andy bought a yacht in Miami and name it Shadow Dancer. Had a pet lion cub on it before donating it to the zoo. He was Instantly the hottest of all teen idols ever. He was all over tv - every variety show, Christmas special, etc. as a guest, and also hosted Solid Gold for a time, so every week he was doing LIVE performances and duets with top artists. One of my favorites is COMING IN AND OUT OF YOUR LIFE. Thanks for reacting!!
Unfortunately for Andy, his star fell almost as quickly as it rose. Although he had a few more hits over the next three years, by 1982 his career had stalled, due in large part to his addiction to cocaine and a sort of negative-coattails effect with the Bee Gees, whose own stature had fallen with the passing of the disco era. He eventually got treatment for his drug addiction at the Betty Ford Clinic, but by then the damage to his career, his finances and his health were already done. In 1988 Andy Gibb died from myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by a viral infection, and aggravated by his years of substance abuse. Could you please react to I just want to be your everything by Andy Gibb please. 🙂
You can tell Barry and the boys helped him write his songs- it has the signature BeeGees sound which we love! And like you noticed they sing back up for him. He and Barry are like twins- similar hair, look and sound!
They all sang together in the early years 🙌🏽 Yes Andy was really talented! Gone too soon RIP The only brother stool with us is Barry the lead singer of The Bee Gees💜💜💜💜
My cousin (3 yrs older) introduced me to Andy Gibb when i was 10 yrs old. She was always listening to & buying new music, mostly R&B/Soul/Dance but lots of pop & soft rock too. I still remember the day she called me over because she had just bought a new record & wanted me to hear it. It wasn't this song, but one that was from his previous album. The song was called "I just want to be your everything". It was the first single release from his debut album (Flowing Rivers 1977). oh and it was #1 on the music charts for several weeks. Anyway, getting back to my tale - My cousin played that song, over & over until I had memorized all the lyrics. I'm 54 now & still know the words to that one & this song, because my cousin did the same thing when his 2nd album (Shadow Dancing) came out a year later. :-) Even though she was a bit of a tyrant back then (not a bully, just bossy older cousin), I have always given her credit for introducing me to great music at a young age.
Listen to Jennifer and react to those songs. The BeeGees had a lot of music from the 60s and early 70s that you should react to. I Started a Joke, Words are two good examples of their early songs. Glad to see you enjoy these talented brothers! Peace
Some people saif Andy rode on his brothers' coattails--NOT true, the man had his own unique talents as did each of the Gibb Brothers. Andy was probably the best showman if the 4--he hosted Solid Gold, appeared on countless tv shows, singing with everybody under the sun & could sing with anyone. Check out the many clips & videos of him, some of my faves: Hapoy Man duet w/Marie Osmond, duet w/Crystal Gayle, & duet of I Cant Help It w/Olivia Newton-John, a #12 hit. Midnight Special did shows featuring Andy, live, no lip sync. Even though he could be very shy & sensitive, he was a charismatic, talented performer, beloved by many--his brothers did a tribute to him during some if their tours set to Dont Throw It All Away w/Barry, Robin, & Maurice starting the song & then Andy finishing it in video clips as the bros sing the backup...very special❤
Whoever said that dont know wtf they are talking about. Bee gees were bee gees and andy gibb was andy gibb.clearly different and independent even though bee gees did help write his songs
Oh Andy had his own swagger believe me . I seen the BeeGees Live and then got to see Andy Live . Not sure but it was a variety show I’m wanting to say it was recorded from Solid Gold that was on back then .
I'm not even gone lie when I saw this in the notification I was like, "I ain't listening to this", but I'm glad I did. I didn't know he was one of the Bee gees until I heard the chorus. I heard this song before. That's crazy.
OMGosh!! That's so cool!! I'm so glad you played Rico & Crystal's reaction!! It's always so fun when you don't know the name or singer but the second you hear it your brain yells "I KNOW THIS SONG"! Then it's like, wait, THAT'S Barry, Maurice, & Robin's little brother! Reminds me of the Jackson's in that how can one family have 4 boys with similar voices & that much talent. Andy was actually set to join the Bee Gees with his brothers but sadly past away before that happened. Imagine the songs they would have written. At least we have his solo work. I'm glad you commented, Lorenzo!!
I grew up with this song, he and I are the same age, I had his poster on my wall, I was also a BeeGees fan, all their hits, but loved Andy Gibb. He dated Victoria Principal from the show "Dallas" they fell in love but his drug addiction got so bad that they broke up, which is very sad, LA in the 70's was crazy for a lot of young artists, including the group AWB, the drummer in that group went to a party in LA and got ahold of some bad drugs, had an overdose and he died, it was crazy back then.
Andy was my favorite of the brother's Gibb. He was very talented in his own right he was a solo artist no one can take anything from him period. Sadly he passed away at 30 yrs young. He was oh so hotttt and smooth he could melt butter. Andy had some issues but who in the hell doesn't if you are honest about it. We all fall short at times. Awesome reaction. March 10, 1988 he passed away from myocarditis. When Andy died Barry was not on good terms with Andy but that is a burden he must carry for the rest of his life his words not mine.
Andy Gibb had a very successful career in music until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection. While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad! Andy and Barry were very close. I heard Barry say in an interview that losing Andy nearly broke him. RIP Andy
The Plan was for Andy to go Solo for awhile. The Bee gees Wrote his songs and sang backup on the Studio versions. Andy said that he would sit down to write songs with Barry and he would tell Barry his idea. He said then usually Barry would come out with most of the music and lyrics written. Then Andy knew Barry had nailed it and he would be credited with helping write the song. Andy was considered to be BarrysTwin even though so much difference in ages. Andy would sing part time with the bee Gees while doing his Solo career. Shortly before Andy died it was announced that he would join the Bee Gees full time. He never got got to. Andy looked up to all his brothers but sang the closest to Barry!
I'm 56.. Back in the day.. I had Andy's posters all over my walls! I was in LOVE! In those days you had to wait for Tiger Beat Magazine to come out with articles on your heart throbs! You get what you get and you don't throw a fit! LMAO
This was written by older brother Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees for Andy, one of three songs Barry wrote in a single afternoon that all three went to number 1.
I still own my Andy Gibb trash can and my concert shirt my mom bought me . I’m in my late fifties! Saw him in concert before he died and met his brother Barry when I lived in Miami Florida! Nice guys !! Great singer’s!
Thanks for your reaction. Great as always. This is a lip sync performance with Barry Gibb doing the background harmonies, layered. He's even lip syncing the "Aha" adlib in between which is actually Barry's voice from the recording. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on ruclips.net/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/видео.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here's a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg
The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were ALL brothers and of the few, if only, who embraced funk, soul and R&B and we're successful for it. So, they prove no matter a person's skin color, it comes from within one's soul. You've got to appreciate their mark on the World their music left. No matter the skin color of listeners of their music, their music goes past color. Exhibit A.
Charisma - if you had to use only one word to describe Andy Gibb... It was so tragic when he died at age 30 from complications from drug use.. He had a bright future in tv presenting and hosting, along with his singing career. Everyone loved him. On talk shows and tv varity shows he lite up on camera. He had IT.
You guys are such a sweet young couple. I’m 56 and love watching your channel-also the political stuff. I love it when you both break out into smiles together. It does my heart good to watch you do your thing.
My daddy was a band leader for over 50 years & I have 2 brothers & 2 sisters & we all played instruments & sang🥰Great memories. We had bands in our front yard like you saw with Ram Jam😂
Barry said about his lil brother, "he's my twin in mind"! On a concert for diabetes-help, they sang together a song, called 'What'd I Say". To find on YT. Worth to check out.
Disco or not this is one funky sexy song. It was written mainly by...you guessed it...older brother Berry (guy was a hit writing machine. Makes me so jealous lol)... The other brothers contributed too writing also the chorus. That part Rico likes ha. The entire song was written in about 10-20 minutes. Thats when you know your in the zone as a singing group. Boom! Heres you another hit😎
In the seventies "variety " shows were super popular. Everyone from Sony and Cher, Johnny Cash , The Jacksons and Flip Wilson. Just off the top of my head. So many.
I think this was from Solid Gold TV show, which Andy ended up hosting for a while. Even their oldest sister Lesley could sing, and filled in for Robin for a short time back 8n the 60’s in London. She wasn’t into being in the spotlight, so she got married and become a dog breeder in Australia.
This was a syndicated TV show back in the day, I think it was a regular weekend Saturday show and he was a guest on the show. Andy had a terrible drug addiction, and it took him at a very young age barely in his 20s.
Might wanna take the time to listen and watch Andy Gibb perform on a ABC Special with Abba and Olivia Newton John. Not bad at all. ...Check it out man. Check it out.
Omg so true. The vibes. I recently hear andy gibbs in Gilmore girls. Then i dig and listen to some of his songs. And realized he is the baby brother for bee gees. And wish you were here, the songs sooooo sad. 😢😢😢
Fun fact, this is the ONLY song that ALL FOUR brothers wrote. He was EVERY inch the performer. My absolute favorite Gibb 💓 And yes, it was a tv show, he did a lot of those . At one time , he was on TV every week, and DID go into acting for a short time too!
A fact about Andy Gibb that most people dont know is his first 7 hits that he put out all went to number 1. He had everything going for him. He had the name, the voice and the looks but he got caught up in the party scene and got hooked on drugs and it eventually killed him.
Many people comment saying he looks like the younger version of Barry (the tallest). Hope you react to lots more of the best group band ever. React to Wishing you were here (tribute to Andy) or One (when they were older).
If you wanna hear Andy Gibb at his smoothest... listen to I Just Want to be your Everything... dude is smooth as silk in that song
YES!! It was his first single and a #1 hit. There’s an absolutely perfect live performance if it on DON KERSHNER’S ROCK SHOW. (Better audio and backing vocals than Midnight Soecial.)
Andy was the Brother, that was most like. Barry !
My favorite.
@@suesally2103 Barry said he and Andy had identical birthmarks.
Andy was youngest and Barry was pushing and assisting Andy to make it in music. That's why they were in most of Andy's songs
They were one talented family. Each one had great voices, but together their harmony couldn't be beat. In 1978 they had 8 number 1 songs. Andy Gibb
🌟I Just Wanna Be Your Everything
🌟Don't Throw It All Away
Don't Throw it All Away, live version... love it.
Andy was o stage for a TV show. His brothers were singing backup. Older brother Barry wrote and produced his records.
I've long suspected that Andy's inability to write hit records the way Barry could tormented him. He could sing and perform. Just couldn't write.
*Andy Gibb - "I Just Want To Be Your Everything"*
When I was a young teenager he was a major heartthrob!! Man we loved Andy Gibb.
Love this record, crazy enough my lil brother put me onto Andy. He listens to nothing but good old school music.
His big brothers wrote this song for him and did the back up singing for him. He looked so much like big brother Barry.
Andy Gibb!
The brothers wrote the song with Andy’s help. At the time of his death he was suppose to join the BeeGees
Andy bought a yacht in Miami and name it Shadow Dancer. Had a pet lion cub on it before donating it to the zoo. He was Instantly the hottest of all teen idols ever. Also a literal broken heart. His GF Victoria Principal had just broken up with him.
He was a lot like his big bro Barry, voice and all. RIP Andy Gibb

I think barry wrote all the songs but his singing is beautiful. I believe this was a tv show, just dont know which one.not ed sullivan.
They all sang together in the early years 🙌🏽
Yes Andy was really talented! Gone too soon RIP
The only brother stool with us is Barry the lead singer of The Bee Gees💜💜💜💜
There are performances where you see the Bee-Gees and Andy together performing.....cool the see all the Gibb brothers
I Just Want To Be Your Everything..is a good song by Andy.
That was Andy Gibbs's Weekly TV Show called "Solid Gold." I am recording "Shadow Dancin" tonight
@BeeGees

All this music was popular when I was an elementary school kid; I still love it SO MUCH..
Try I Just Want to Be Your Everything and (Love Is) Thicker Than Water by Andy Gibb
R.I.P. young precious soul. You are missed but never forgotten. 🙏🏽😔❣

LOOOOOOVE those backing vocals.
His brothers helped him write songs and they sung backup on his songs.
Incredible this Man has all. Beauty, wealt..., And that was not enough. Human is a complex animal.

This is why subscribed to you both you found Andy another great bee gee
This was written by older brother Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees for Andy, one of three songs Barry wrote in a single afternoon that all three went to number 1.
He has his own TV show called. SOLID GOLD. Looks and sounds like Barry.
Todos os irmãos Gibbs, eram muito talentosos! Amo essa família! ❤❤❤❤🤩🤩👋👋👋🇧🇷
He performed on solid gold . It was a music television series through most of the 80’s
I still own my Andy Gibb trash can and my concert shirt my mom bought me . I’m in my late fifties! Saw him in concert before he died and met his brother Barry when I lived in Miami Florida! Nice guys !! Great singer’s!

I've loved Andy Gibb and the Bee Gees since I was a little girl in the 70's. Thank you for appreciating their music.
He was on SOLID Gold a music show that was on in around 1980.
My Mom's generation had heartthrob Elvis...my generation had Andy Gibb!🤗💞
Dudes groove. And ladies cheese. Every reaction video of Andy. Andy was a stone cold lady Killa.
Yes, his brothers, the BeeGees, helped him out. Barry Gibb especially helped him out…brotherly love
Sad, heartbreaking life. As many have done, he gave his life, because the pain of losing someone he loved was too much to bare. RIP Andy Gibb
The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were ALL brothers and of the few, if only, who embraced funk, soul and R&B and we're successful for it.

I love andy gibb rip
Andy was my favorite heart throb🥺❤️Had his poster on our wall lol Rest Peaceful 🙏🏻

You should check out the collab between Andy, ABBA, and Olivia Newton-John for a great reaction! It's a long one (20mins) but soooo good!
You guys are such a sweet young couple. I’m 56 and love watching your channel-also the political stuff. I love it when you both break out into smiles together. It does my heart good to watch you do your thing.
I just love that you can really appreciate Andy & The BeeGees 💖
Y’all should also Hear
Islands In the Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Y’all would love it bro.
Yes it was a tv show. BeeGees wrote his songs and did backup vocals
This performance was on a tv show. There were a lot of shows that focused on music or variety shows that had live studio audiences.
Back in the 70’s we had a lot of evening variety shows with comedians & guest singers or bands.
yes this was a a family TV show & yes its his older brothers singing in the back round
its soul..but in a different way!..enjoy!..God bless!
My daddy was a band leader for over 50 years & I have 2 brothers & 2 sisters & we all played instruments & sang🥰Great memories. We had bands in our front yard like you saw with Ram Jam😂

Barry once said Andy was the light behind all the UFOs!!! Soar with the angels !!! Andy, Mo. and Robin!!!
All of their children have recorded together. Andy's daughter included.
Michael Jackson and Barry Gibb All In Your Name
This song if a funky grove and I dig the funkiness.
You should listen to Andy Gibb "Words"
Check out the Charlie Daniels Band Live in Saratoga “The Devil Went Down to Georgia!”
I remember this at the skating rinks. Good times
Had the biggest crush on him when I was a kid. Another talented Gibb brother. So sad he died so young. 😰🤩
Love this song. Can't go wrong with the Gibb brothers. (Bee Gees)
#1 pop song of the year 1978.
Andy gibb is one of the bee gees
Even the Trumpet players have the funk. hat's off to the sound mixer. ear candy right there.
This song was also on the movie Saturday Night Fever. If you want to see some really great dancing from the disco era you gotta see it.
A fact about Andy Gibb that most people dont know is his first 7 hits that he put out all went to number 1. He had everything going for him. He had the name, the voice and the looks but he got caught up in the party scene and got hooked on drugs and it eventually killed him.
This was solid gold t v show
This song Was written with his brothers and they sang backup. Barry produced his 1st records.
Barry's mini me. He was loved by teens. I saw him at 16, York fair. I took a whole roll of Andy's backside as he shook his groove thing.
When I was a young teen all the girls had posters of Andy.
Many people comment saying he looks like the younger version of Barry (the tallest). Hope you react to lots more of the best group band ever. React to Wishing you were here (tribute to Andy) or One (when they were older).
