He was clean of drugs, but began drinking after becoming severely depressed at Robin's due to writers block. Barry & Mo co-wrote and recorded 4 songs with Andy in Miami before he left for Robin's in the UK. He was there to finish writing & recording an album, as Island Records in London was the only label who'd sign Andy to a record deal. I'll never understand why Robin didn't help him when he wasn't able to write.....before depression & heavy drinking set in, which alcohol ultimately ended his life.

My friend Samantha Sang, her stage name, was a prodigy of Barry Gibbs, the Bee Gees produced a song for her & sang in it. It was called “Emotion” it was popular back in the late 1970s, she has such great memories of working with them ❤🙏

Yes, his big brothers are backing him up and they helped him write and produce his first album. There was also a 10 plus years difference in age between him and his bros, so that's why he wasn't in the group. He too can really sing, think about it, they were all born having similar vocal chords, so it makes sense!

The plan was for Andy Gibb to sing solo to gain experience. He sang with the Bee Gees part Time, Andy Gibb helped write Andy's song and Bariy and sometimes all the Bee Gees performed Backing Vocals in the Studio. Their is a video of Andy Gibb performing with his brothers in the Bee Gees song You should Be Dancing.
It was announced that Andy Gibb was joining the Bee Gees full time, but he passed away before that could happen.

He was getting ready to join his brothers as 4th member, but he died before that happened. They have an older sister, Leslie, who sang too but stepped away to raise her family. Barry wrote and produced a lot of Andy's song. Also sang background.
He really needs to see the documentary about the Gibbs that was on HBO a couple years ago.
