You may not have chosen the role, but the role chose you. Keep on with it, you're as educated an opinion as can be got and there are youngsters will see and hear you who may never need emergency knife crime health care because of you.
I get that it's odd feeling, but look at it the other way around, from bizarre to sensible thinking, is bound to feel odd, probably mostly because people seeing you as genuine is not something you been 'used to' for most of yer life.
