I had 2 Aerostars... first an '89 and then a '91. They're on actual frames rather than unibody. The '91 had the 4.0 and had a few problems but was still a good rig. My '91 had the 2nd row captains seats. Neither of mine ever looked as good as yours. Your van is beautiful!!
Dana Danarosana thank you, the only problem with this one. Is that it has a power steering leak. It is not a major leak, but I need to fix it before it gets worst. My dad has also a 1990 Aerostar extended XL trim, with about 360,000 miles. He has owned it for the past 12 years
@@Ricky714SA I had power steering issues with the '91 also. And the pumps are hard to find. As far as I see on my 1987 XL Aerostar the rear frame from the front of the drivers doors back is part of the unibody. I didn't crash but all of the brake system went to shit after
My first car was a 20 year old 1965 Ford Galaxiee 500 LTD. A friend bought it for me for $325 at a car auction. I had that car for about seven months and had been having to pump the brakes to stop, but didn’t have the money to fix them and figured, incorrectly, that they were working still, until one day on a country road, going about 55 mph, I approached a curve marked 35. I pumped the brakes to slow and nothing happened. I kept trying but nothing was happening, as I got closer to the bend I finally stomped on them to slow down and the brakes locked up and since the road was wet from a fresh rain, I didn’t make the curve and dropped into a three foot deep ditch and crashed into the side of a driveway that came out at the apex of the curve, a large chunk of dirt went flying as I came to an abrupt stop, resulting in the driver’s side wheel broke at the top ball joint and the tire lying flat on the ground. The crash only pushed the front in until the radiator touched the fan, but it would have cost $800 to fix and I was only making $5 an hour. I ended up selling it. I loved that black car with the white vinyl top and moon rims. People would compliment the car almost anywhere I went. I learned my lesson about maintaining a vehicle the hard way.

Do you still have it? It looked great! We have a 1994 Ford Aerostar XL van with the 3.0 Liter engine, which is more powerful than the 2.3 Liter engines they had in earlier Aerostars. We have owned ours since 1998. I still drive it while at our summer home. Our kids grew up traveling in it in the summers and now my granddaughter rides in it. I love that the rear seats pull out easily and I can haul various items in it. Since I have owned it, it sits for the school year and is only driven in the summers. In about 1999 we had some troubles with it stopping after stomping on the gas. After stopping at about five Ford dealerships and having different electrical components replaced, with the issue happening again, we took it to an alley mechanic at someone’s recommendation and he shortly diagnosed it at the fuel pump seizing. After the fuel pump replacement, it ran great for many years, until at someone’s recommendation I had the transmission filter and fluid replaced. Not long after, the transmission went out and we had to put about $2000 into the repair. That was about 12 years ago and the Aerostar keeps cruising. After the fuel pump issue, someone recommended putting SeaFoam in the gas tank. I regularly put a can in when I do the last fill up before parking the van for the school year. I also change the oil at that time. I disconnect the battery and nearly every summer after reconnecting the van starts right up after setting for ten months. During the COVID-19 pandemic it sat for 22 months without being operated and still started up fine. It now has over 230,000 miles. I love my little green Aerostar.

Hear those kids? Those are the souls of the children kidnapped in that van.
You have a very nice Aerostar unfortunately mine is not in good body condition due to my own mistakes and others mistakes. Mine is extended version 1993 silver on top grey on bottom 3.0 v6. P.S my rear seats dont fold backwards only forwards if the backwards folding seats only for early Aerostar's?
Aerostar93 thanks for watching, and the seats that turned into bed where optional, buyers could choose either seats like yours, seats that turn into a bed, and the captain chairs in the center part. You should post a video on here.

Shea Mileto hello, I’ll do one sometime this week, and the door dinger works, for some reason it is really low, you could berly hear it.

Aerostar club? Kool! Where are you located?

Good night Rafa Lopez! How are you? My name is Fabio. I am comparing a 1991 Ford Aerostar here in Brazil, but I am not finding parts, missing the two mirrors, bumper, flashlights and some more mechanical parts. Do you know any place that sells these pieces in your country to indicate me? Already very grateful !!
Hello Fabio, I live in the area of Orange County \ Los Angeles, and parts for these vans are becoming hard. I don’t know where they might have parts for them. I went to 2 junkyards and there was no aerostar. I have a blue aerostar from another video. Do any parts work for you? Watch the video and let me know.
@@Ricky714SA Good morning, rafa lopez! I greatly appreciate your attention. But because it is very difficult to find parts for this car I will give up the purchase. I even found a few things from eBay but it was too expensive to care. Good luck, be at peace!

Will Brown I bought it in summer of 2017 so maybe.
@@Ricky714SA Does your iPod touch look like the size of an iPhone 5 or 6? Also, was it bought from a retail store or was it used like from Ebay or Amazon when you bought it from about 2 years ago?
Will Brown it’s the size of the iPhone 5 and I bought it off the apple store in south coast plaza. “Costa Mesa Ca”
