    Now thinking of it, if Captain Bartlett didnt try to beach the ship, and stopped the engines immediately after the mine strike, I think the death count could have been as low as one. Since there were reports of one person being killed by the mine explosion itself. Considering that he must have known that all of the lower deck portholes must have been open as if the nurses all had opened it and the britannic was on its 6th voyage, the Bartlett must have already been used to the nurses doing that before picking up wounded.

    Honestly, when I heard Britannic's story, I almost cries. It's just sad, that this ship had never seen the glory of an ocean passenger liner. And after her third voyage, she could have been a magnificent ocean liner, and heck, she could have a good life, and even preserved, likely not but we will never know...

      One ship at the time had already been sunk by a mine that U-73 had laid out of 12. But the ship was labeled as sunk by a torpedo so minesweepers weren’t sent to sweep the kea channel. If they sent the minesweepers, Britannic might just have been saved.

    Britannic could have been the ultimate white star liner. Sometimes I imagine a perfect scenario where all of the Olympic class ships were designed like the finalized britannic was supposed to be, and none of them sank. The only downside to that is no Café Parisian! Think about it for a second, let’s say all made their maiden voyage somewhere in 1910, honestly the white star and Cunard merger would definitely be in White Star’s favor

    If I was extremely wealthy rich. I would have a modern day clone copy of RMS BRITANNIC II built in harland and wolff ship yard. RMS BRITANNIC would serve as my floating home. My ship would also have live on board guest around 260 to 575 people. And have a crew of 655. Most of the crew members will be ex navy people with the best training in the world. I would give RMS BRITANNIC II the life the original never had. BRITANNIC II would be the best looking ship in the world.

    As much as your video on the ship is accurate I should point out. It was not tensions from Great Britain and Germany that caused World War I to occur. It was tensions between Russia, Austria-Hungary, and Serbia, that started the war, in addition, tensions between France and Germany. Britain joined in because Germany invaded Belgium and Luxenberg when trying to enter France.

    The Britannic was originally gonna be called gigantic b because the company that made the archers have have the name as gigantic in books I think white Star Line changes your name because of the big German ocean liners And this was before Titanic sank Because they were bigger But the arch company still had the name gigantic in their books

    • @theshipenthusiast
      @theshipenthusiast  2 года назад +3

      The name gigantic could have been suggested by a Harland and Wolff official but was never made official. There is no mention of the name being used as the 3rd ship in the Olympic class though and I’m not sure how it became such a widely believed misconception. The only time it was used was when describing describing her characteristics so that might be where it is from.

    • @britannicman9995
      @britannicman9995 2 года назад

      I really think it was going to be named gigantic the only reason why they changed the name is because of the German superliners were bigger like I said but the company that made the Ship's anchors back in 1911 sent a document to either white Star Line or some other company they were complaining that they weren't paid good enough for the for the Anchors and for the next Anchor which was called gigantic and wanted to be paid better I have the company document It's a copy but it's from the record I think calling the ship Britannic had nothing to do with the Titanic disaster and had to do with the German liners were bigger but I still think they were in the call at gigantic if the German liner's haven't been made And what about that ship advertising poster with the name gigantic on it is it real or is it a fake I have it one of my Titanic books I think it's called Titanic and illustrated history The company that made the anchors For the Olympic Titanic and Britannic The name gigantic is in their company records The name is crossed-out Ledge books And like I said I have that letter That's why I think It was gonna be called gigantic There's too much documentation

    • @theshipenthusiast
      @theshipenthusiast  2 года назад

      @@britannicman9995 all posters of her saying gigantic are fake since it was never made official if it was suggested. The earliest listing of the 3 ships call the ship Britannic and “Tom McCluskey” who worked in Harland and Wolff managing offices said how he never saw any reference to the name. You can have your opinion on it but for me, the facts say “it wasn’t a real thing”. Plus, white star and Harland and Wolff were not so unprofessional to name their ship after it’s size. I just can’t see a company like white star coming up with that as an official name. As for the anchor thing, like I said in the video, the name “Gigantic” was used when describing the characteristics of the ship so I don’t find it too far fetched to say that that was what they were describing, as the anchor was gigantic. I can also see people referring to Britannic as gigantic since, she was huge.

    • @britannicman9995
      @britannicman9995 2 года назад

      I think the name gigantic was a strong possibility I think Harland wolf Had that named somewhere in their company records But I think after Titanic disaster they probably didn't want to have that in any other records anywhere so they probably got rid of it It would look bad on the company Hey they didn't even mention Titanic and any Building plans for the Britannic as 401 instead of having the word Titanic inquotations they had the yard number cause they didn't even want to mention the word Titanic
