We put up with so much and even when our hearts are breaking and the house is burning down we still say "I'm okay".

Preach Fumi! You are speaking the TRUTH! That being said, I wish Cynthia would remember that when people/men tell and show you who they are, BELIEVE THEM! Mike told her point blank, he's never been faithful to anyone. That was one of those huge red flags, that should have turned her completely off. He was telling her honestly who he is. We gotta stop thinking we can fix these men. We can't fix anyone but ourselves! We've all been there and made mistakes with men, but when we're 45, 50 , 55 and older, we're old enough to know better. We should be loving ourselves, avoiding drama and the men who aren't worthy of us.

Cynthia and Tia's divorce situations hit like they are my blood tbh. Your statement about self love to Cynthia, is so powerful. I personally am off the dating block until I learn to love myself in a healthy way and learn boundaries. No one taught me but I'm ready to learn, even if it means going for therapy.

It was my second and these past 15 years has been really had to learn to love myself but doing it all alone and one income, it so hard. I agree with you, you woke up my heart, God has been my protector. Thank you for telling the TRUTH. No relationship since 2016 i feel my beauty has gone but I try to stay positive and I have so much peace. You are a breath of fresh air and bless you. Here, here, I recognized and even called myself a repeat offender because I was making the same mistakes with different men and realized because I changed the man I had improved the situation, no but it was me all along. When they were dating, Cynthia was asked if she had concerns re: Mike's past infidelities, She is on record saying that she was getting Mike in his best years and felt he had changed. She blatantly ignored ALL the red flags. Not saying he cheated on her, but he surely didn't pass the character test. She def needs to embrace being single. Her picker is waaayyy off. Yes Cynthia has experienced childhood trauma due to what she witnessed her Mother going through in volutale/ abusive relationships with her husband/ partner..This was highlighted on a recent show involving both her younger Sister & Mother on 'Iyalana fix my family' discussing Cynthia's sisters martial breakdown & its roots in the example shown by their Mother in her relationships and lack of self worth. Cynthia, like so many would benefit from therapy in this area.

Wow! So many gems in here Fumi. I sometimes think I am prone to making a mistake with men and feeling the heat of embarrassment when I am treated less than what I know I deserve. As you get wiser, it's not likely I let it happen again. However, I think it's true that when a man is really into you, you can be firm about your standards, and he still adores you. I'm still taking applications for the right one for me in my mid 30s. We will see who turns out to win my mind.
