  • Long-time TV actor-turned-student of fraud, Ben McKenzie has teamed up with journalist Jacob Silverman to unravel the mysteries, and absurdities, of the crypto industry. In this discussion, they talk about their adventures in crypto's darker corners, how much real money is actually sloshing through the system, and whether anyone will survive the latest crypto winter.

6:23 As a computer scientist, a developer, and a tech lead, I can agree with what he's trying to convey here, and it baffles me, after all these years how this alleged the greatest amalgamation of old technologies -- we call blockchain now -- it is still stuck on not being able to deliver on three original pillars they had set to build their system on.
P.S. I'm in crypto precisely for the first point that was brought up: The casino aspect of it. I'll tend to look at it as an opportunity to siphon money from others little by little as opposed to look at it as a long term investment. Of course, I could very well become a victim of my own plan, thusly, I only invest what I can afford to lose.

Sure the government staying out of your business and life sounds great but it also leaves open door for crooks, scammers, organizing crime and various neerdowells.
