My favorite car ever (no joke). I have 2 of them. One 1.8 Twin Spark and a 2.5 and I'm fighting to keep both on the road. Such a fun driving experience.
@@j-mharari3374 well it's a 20 year old car with a scarce supply market. So i'm not going to lie, if something breaks, which it will, it is quite a hassle to get it fixed and find replacement parts. The twin spark has been quite reliable, but it pretty much needs a completely new suspension and is currently in storage until i find time to get it right again. The v6 has given me quite a lot of trouble recently. It was in and out of mechanic shops in the last 5-6 months, getting a new cam belt, alternator and we were chasing an electrical bug in the air bag system. It is driving now but i'm not as confident in the car as I'm in the 4 cylinder model. The consumption is a little higher than other engines of that period of similar size. The 1.8 ts sits around 6-7l/100km and the 2.5 v6 around 8.5-12l/100km.
@@j-mharari3374The consumption of the 2.5 should be around 20l per 100km in thr city. My friend has 2.0 jts and it's 14-16l per 100km in the city... If you consider buying 2.5v6, forget about fuel economy. I see one in my country, currently selling for 3000 euros with leather enterior, heated seats and sunroof. I think it's worth it.
Very nice, you are definitely right about the leather seats in the 156. Not only are they tremendously comfortable, but also a work of art with great leather quality.
@@rrrrr-s3q and then you would have a very highly strung engine operating and well about the safe limits of its 1970s design just to keep up with a Giulia Ti. Sadly this beauty has had its day in the sun....modern cars are boring

a friendly advice, try not to drive with less than a quarter of fuel. the fuel injector of the car overheats quickly so try to have at least half of the tank full.
I would say the comfort in the Alfa Romeo 156 is moderate, but as you pointed out it is difficult to assess that from the video alone - the microphone is very sensitive and picks up excessive road noise even in well-isolated cars. My car also has firmer suspension and an aftermarket exhaust, which does sacrifice some comfort as you can hear exhaust drone on the highway and so forth. With this being said, the interior is a nice place to be and the leather seats are really comfortable. The car is well put together and considered premium in my opinion. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for watching, the sound is indeed glorious. It has a SuperSprint aftermarket exhaust although I am not sure about the specifics since it was done by a previous owner.
Hola buenas Sebas !
Umm... call me stupid but didnt the front passenger have an airbag which ”plastic cover” (I dont know its english name😅) always ripped off from its corners? My 1998 156 has that so... is this 156 from 1997?
This is a good question! The front passenger airbag did not come as standard in the early 156s, you actually had to buy it as an optional extra - certainly different times. For this reason mine does not have one despite being a 1999 model. The first owner who bought this car back in the day clearly had other priorities - leather and wood trim before passenger safety haha.
@@Auto_Lore but its much better looking without it😂 and has no hastle couse you dont have to try to fix it somehow😅 and wasnt wood/leather trim just sport 2 pack (unofficially called lusso) if I remember correctly?
@@veedoofthedum Haha, you do make a good point. The dashboard does indeed look more flowing without it and you have one fewer airbag to worry about breaking - even having one feels too much sometimes on an Alfa. I think you are right, the Lusso pack included the wood steering wheel and gear knob along with the leather interior.

Great car Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 Busso!!!😄😄
Amaising! A 156 busso and a cockpit without passengerairbag and MOMO-Leather ...You drive a very rare car!
This engine in the current Giulia with a manual would be a perfect car.
It would be underpowered, for today’s standards and for the fact that the Giulia is like 3-400kg heavier
@@dragos9134even the 3.2 or 3.0 version?
@@thepalm2791sadly yes, but if they made the car lighter, the Busso would really make it shine!

Best car and engine ever built
Happy revving 2.5 😍👌future classic.
Thank you for watching, this Alfa is without a doubt a future collectible!
I have this model, but after all lifts, 2004 year... I love this car as a daily
Beautiful vid‘. No words needed. Just a perfect day in a very cool (and hugely undervalued) car.

Do you mean the fuel pump in the tank.

Ride is a bit harsher than other cars, sound proofing is also a bit worse than other cars but it's not bad at all
Probably a passat from the same era would be more comfortable, but 10x more boring
The ride is fidgety on all but the most smooth roads, but the tradeoff is worth in handling
where is the right airbag lid? is it coated and is it active? actually looks good.
Pre - facelifted 156s don't have passenger airbags.

Numbers 0100? Slow shifting
Indeed, the shifting could have been better for the 0-100 run. The official 0-100 figure is 7.3s.
