We had everything from a large bunkhouse to a class C. Now we have a TAB 400. This is all the room we need. These small trailers can go almost anywhere. Great video 👍thanks
I wish more companies would bring out super basic trailers like this. A blank canvas like you said. I like making my trailers personalized to me so this is a cool trailer. Although to small for my family I like it.
I bought the Kz sportsmen classic 130 Rb,exactly same layout,I had the dealer install 2 fantastic fans for kitchen and bath, I also use damp rid container with tablets thru the fall and winter months while in storage and it's amazing how the little container collect moisture,ALOT of moisture.when I use shower I always completely dry the bath, should last!!!
I really like this layout with the tub and is open it need more overhead cabinets and a taller refrigerator with a separate freezer. A little pullout on the couch just for a bigger adult. You have to have a drawer for your utensils. They almost got this right.
My ideal camper outdoor kitchen on the back, large restroom towards the front, sitting area in the middle with big screen that rotates to the outside, and the biggest pop up tent on top to sleep with a mini deck to chill.
I'd probably just upgrade the tires, add a couple battleborn batteries/solar/controller and call it a day. Would probably not pull it around off road much other than graded forest service roads. Our Arizona washboard would shake that thing to pieces pretty quick. A one time trip to a remote property looks like an intriguing idea, instant cabin in the woods if you have a chunk of dirt somewhere remote. Just load up the truck/jeep/SUV with camping shizzy (screen room, grill, kitchen stuff, fire pit, extra propane, generator etc.) and enjoy the outdoors. I'd probably just store all that stuff in the bed of my truck under a topper so I can bail at a moments notice. As I get older I'm realizing that I can live with and appreciate simpler things.
Definitely a more useful and economical solution for the average person to get into camping and RVing. Like you stated, upgrading a few items will make it much more appealing to the average buyer and make it more useful when dry camping/boondocking. Takes up less space at home, there by probably costing less for storing it when idle, because less of a reason for most not needing to store it at an off-site facility instead of at their residence. Easier to maneuver is another consideration. Less costly to tow. A person with rudimentary skills can transform this into something similar to what you get with an Airstream Bambi at less than a third the cost. Great looking little unit. Thanks for sharing 👍
Oh! Your modifications suggestions were really entertaining. Truly choices by a guy with a big full size big motored truck! Adding lots of weight and drag. What make a trailer like this one attractive are it’s light overall weight and and tow ability. Adding off road and bigger wheels and tires makes it a harder tow for smaller vehicles. Weight of custom accessories adds up real fast! At 2500 pounds dry, this is towable by a lot of your mid size vehicles, both cars, SUVs, vans and such. Keep your upgrades light and not heavy or drag inducing!
Would make for a nice little fishing camper. If one were to put in all of those upgrades, then you might as well buy a bigger one to begin with shouldn’t ya?
I have been watching your channel off and on for about 2 years and always enjoyed your quality content. I have been thinking about getting back to the RV lifestyle in a B+. This trailer and your suggestions about changing things to it has me reconsidering my options . Thanks very much. Cheers.
I have owned one of these since feb 20. Slightly earlier version than this one. We upgraded from a cargo trailer. We have loved it, >100 nights so far.
Tire pressure monitor and I would go with Cooper Discoverer tires for value. A portable solar panel that includes the charge controller is quite sufficient....
Obviously, I haven’t done market research, but I would think there would be a market for basically a “glorified tent”! Something with walls that gets you off of the ground. I really like the Intech Flyer Explore and Discover models for this specific reason. Basically, a climate controlled tent on a very towable trailer. The Explore with a curbside tip out and an exterior kitchen could reasonably sleep 5-6 people. Crazy potential on a camper that weighs less than 2,000 lbs.
I think omitting the cabinet above the fridge and putting a bigger fridge with freezer would be nice. Also incorporate a flip down bunk instead of the shelf across the front. Also squaring off the front of the trailer would add more useful space instead of the curved profile.
@@maximvsx8226 it doesn't help nearly as much as you think. There is still substantial air flowing downward behind the tow vehicle causing a lot of turbulent flow.

Hey JD hope you're having a great day? This Viking travel trailer is awesome. I was wondering if you could put the curt beast mode suspension on this unit? Watching this my mind started spinning about the different things that could be done. The one thing I would do first is put in shower surround in it. For 17000.00 dollars for this unit there is slot that could be done to make it an awesome camper. Your number one fan an a friend Leonard from NC.
Something like this is exactly what I would buy, not only because of cost, but because I would easily be able to tow with my 1/2 ton truck, and I could easily store it at my house.
This, but 4 season insulated and roadmaster-style suspension. I Don't want to have to redo critical parts but I can do everything else. Blank template RVs are cool
I love this trailer., especially the dry bath. The only con is the long bench. Why manufacturers kept design small trailers with sleep for more than 2? That window could be smaller and replaced with cabinets.
This is the perfect size for me! I WISH they'd of put it a Murphy bed & make the shower a bit bigger, or make room for washer/dryer unit & Kitchen a bit bigger with a fridge AND freezer!
Even if you do nothing else, swapping out just those cushions for another color would dramatically change the look and feel of the interior. Heck, keep those and sew up some covers from your favorite fabrics from your local fabric or craft store and your totally changing the inside of this very functional unit!
Used to be able to tow these things behind a Ford Cortina back in the 1980s. Obviously fewer features. No toilet or bathing facilities for one. Still, comfortable enough for a young family of five. Wonder how they managed to do it back then.
The 2024 Forest River Viking 14SR (same floor plan) has a Dometic fridge/freezer combo. If you're looking for more food storage and an oven, this is not the class of trailer you're looking for. You'll need to go much larger, or go for a high-end truck camper.
I like that it's so compact but has a proper dry bath

A cargo trailer is even more of a blank canvas
Exactly. I would rather have a computer desk than a micro dining area. I think that's one concept in RVs that's behind the times.
@@newbutthunt That is the bed.

Replace the power awning with a batwing style awning that will wrap around more of the trailer. Maybe the one that you can add walls to enclose it.

The curved front reduces how much of a brick it is being dragged behind the tow vehicle, that minor curve would amaze you how much it helps.

I went from a Frontier to a Bronco and thought I could never get a small camper again... well maybe I can! lol
I feel like I could tow this behind my friggin sentra so I’m sure your bronco would do fine lool
what's your opinion on overlanding a unit like this?
Sounds like a fun,doable project.

I was actually wondering this myself
I appreciate that they gave you the option to add a microwave if you wanted.

Interesting, love the size of this thing. Compared to the expensive “off road” rvs. This thing looks good!
Are there any RV manufacturers that make a bare-bones basic trailer that you can upgrade yourself that would be a neat build for your channel.
I love this trailer., especially the dry bath. The only con is the long bench. Why manufacturers kept design small trailers with sleep for more than 2?

This one could greatly benefit by adding a bunk above the table area.
This is the perfect size for me! I WISH they'd of put it a Murphy bed & make the shower a bit bigger, or make room for washer/dryer unit & Kitchen a bit bigger with a fridge AND freezer!
They should have made another bunk mattress above the table or do one of those cabinet/bunk combos like in a truck camper.
Perfect for me as it is

I like to see these! I wanna see travel trailers under 3000 pounds. My vehicles rated for 3500 pounds towing
Hi check out Taylor Coach is a family run, homemade in Ontario Canada
Kinda like a popup interior without all the canvas.
Is there any storage under the long bench?
Wish they had something this size but with a flip down bunk. Need sleeping for 4.
Then you need a bigger trailer. Wy the hel mfg designed small trailer for more than 2 persons?
Bunk bed above the dinette would be cool

Huge Inside! But says "this should be a short video its super tiny" lol
I christen thee “The Beast”.
You have to be very careful and pay attention and not go to fast and go slower as per the weather conditions when you tow anything not just this.
No freezer? No oven? I could do the size, but I would still want to have decent food storage and cooking options. This one doesn't cut it.
Why would you need freezer or oven for this size?
@@rampar77 Made that pretty clear.

Could you tow this with a 4runner?
A Tacoma can pull it, so I'm sure a 4Runner can.
How tall is it?
I agree with all your upgrades but do you think you could take the frame off the bottom and mount it on a flatbed truck and make a nice RV.
It's a clone of the tlrv rove Lite 14
It sucks
