Thanks! It’s been a long time since I hung up my glider. Literally. It’s hanging in my garage. Lol. I flew lookout mountain long long time ago. You just took me on a great flight. It brought back the exact feeling of how it is to fly a ridge. It was like I was flying instead of you. Thanks for the memories. P.S. great music!

I remember tagging the point from LO in 1981 in my single surface Sensor 210 E ..It was a memorable flight reaching the point an hour or so before sunset and then buzzing the ridge to land at the beginning of dusk..It was November NW day not exceedingly strong but a steady 10-15

This was well made and helped me imagine what it takes to get to the Point of Lookout Mountain (i'm and H2 just hitting 27 mountain launches all at LM Flight Park). Thanks for the tour and training guide

Lookout mountain is on my list. Being from AZ, it's a long way away.

Me too. After I get better. Just re-learning right now (haven't flown since the 70s). But first I'd like to fly Mingus. That looks really beautiful. Then I've got a long list. Kagel, Crestline, Point of the Mountain, LMFP and después, el ultimo para mi sería volar en Valle de Bravo. ¡Vuelo Libre!

I've got about 30 flights logged from that ramp back in the late 90s when I was still in my 20s. All but one were a sled run to the LZ but they were all amazing. The one "non sled" run, I went straight to the LZ as I always did and then realized that the LZ looked a lot smaller than usual. I made a 180 and realized I was a couple thousand feet above the mountain. Flew effortlessly for about 45 minutes. It's good to make life memories like that!

I still remember my first and only soaring flight on my old red rogallo back in the mid 70s. It was at Torrey Pines and had to end it after barely an hour ...'cause I had to pee! What do those hot shot X-C guys do these days? Carry a bottle???

You were plenty high to go to the point once you thermaled up again. It is nerve racking not having anymore fields to land in. That was an awesome flight.

Thanks, I know I was, and the lift was very consistent but I didn't know the airflow pattern towards the point and I seemed to be the only pilot flying that day. If others were doing it I would have been more inclined to push but was having such a great time saw no need to explore an area I knew absolutely zero about. Safety first :)

A brilliant video like that and only 17 subs! I just don't understand why hang gliding isn't massively popular. I guess only 2 vids on a channel means that a sub is a waste of time

Nice landing! The ridge is turning on these next few days. Come back to LMFP with a radio and we'll tackle the point together. With enough altitude and familiarity with the bailouts, it can be done safely.
