I think a lot of people know the history of it so they don’t rate it as much because Sean himself said Kendrick murdered him on it. Like he almost didn’t release the song for that reason. I give him props for swallowing his pride though and putting it out, but he was third best on his song.

This was one of those tracks that the hip hop world kind of stopped for a moment when it released, would have been crazy to see reaction channels back when this came out
The universe is aligning so heavy, I revisited the Control verse and felt that it should it be revisited by people especially with the recent news. I truly believe MOST of this verse is Directed at Drake, especially with how he say DRAKE, the tone has intention. I thought of making this request to you and you already covered it. Not enough people understand when it comes to real artists being listed on one of these disses isn’t offensive in anyway in fact I’d argue it’s a badge of honor.
It reminds me of Eminem’s diss a couple years ago when he mentioned a list of artists and on that list was Hopsin. If you haven’t seen it, look up Hopsin’s reaction to hearing Eminem mention him on a “diss” track. He freaks out screaming “EMINIEM KNOWS WHO I AM?!? Oh shit, I need to call my mum” tbh it’s a very wholesome and beautiful moment.
In some ways I want all the artists I listen to, to think they’re the best in the game. That’s the way rappers eat and the reason the greats are where they are

I will be honest, I never really dug Kendrick. I know he's massively talented, but he just never really clicked with me.
But I'll say it all day long, he's the direction I wish rap culture would be going, rather than the popularization of mumble rap.
