Can’t believe I’m waiting 6 months for a pair of JG African Troopers ! Lol I never thought I would ever purchase anything that I’d have to wait this long for until I got into the heritage boot hobby !!
We a head of schedule for the first delivery batch🙌 if all goes to plan with shipping will be in your feet by middle of October (provided you ordered within the first 4 weeks of the launch. Appreciate the support and enjoy the boots
i know barefoot stuff doesnt get as many views - but im thankful. ive been wearing barefoot style shoes for 13 years now and it has saved me from a lot of health problems. soft star is my favorite brand but theyve been raising their prices to a point that i find unreasonable. i havent stopped loving their shoes but i can no longer afford to buy as many. currently looking for a cheaper alternative with the same high quality materials and fit.
Have you seen the crowdfunded startup company Flatstep? This guy is making a zero- drop, hard toe, no toespring, footshaped work boot that has a real rubber outsole! It would be so cool to see Rose Anvil get a first run model pair to review..
truly appreciate all the barefoot shoes youve been doing. Been exclusively barefoot shoes for 15 years at least now and always looking for good future options.
Woo! Finally some Soft Star love! I absolutely love there shoes, I've got a pair of runamocs that have been going for a good 5 years of almost daily wear now.
i have to ask, i had two runamocs, one leather sole and one thick trail sole and i wore through both of them in like two years (hole through to inside), how do you have one pair that lasted that long?
for anyone curious, SuperFabric is made by HexArmor. They specialize in PPE(Personal Protective Equipment), they manufacture a fire resistant version, a needlestick/sharps resistant version, and an antimicrobial version.
I like the look of the maximum toe-splay, looks to be very ergonomic anatomical biomechanic-Oblique toebox ,correct to a normal human healthy foot.(I spent too many years in the military.) and government issued 🫡foot coffins.‼️, bad back ruins knees, worthless ankles,(when you’re carrying an average combat load of 60 pounds) wearing boots with elevated heels and restricted toebox-no bragging right here, I wish that switchback sofstar boot was in the military when I was in there(as optional issue gear)
Looking forward to the cut in half. These look pretty nice and the price isnt unreasonable for made in america. When you cut them in half can you peel away the toe cap? im curious if the strip that goes around the side goes under the toe cap too.
The outsole is called Vibram Zegama Megagrip. Google search will bring up multiple retailers who sell the product. Any shoe repair shop could swap the sole out on Jim Green boots.
I wish we could get your opinion on the "new" style(s) of wildland firefighting boots. I believe they're considered the mountaineering style vs. traditional logger style. I've had Nick's (custom-made for my feet) & whilst they work, I'd like to try something else. BUT I'm in a pickle, i wear an 11EEE.
@@holimoli8802last i asked they do not resole and asked a couple of cobblers also no good as the leather Soft Star used (possibly now changed) back in 2018,2019 wouldn't support restitching as too thin. Just one guy's experience and very few cobblers bear me so YMMV.
Regarding the cacophony of fad-creed I beg to disagree with you. The problem isn't when big companies talk about it without applying it. The problem is when small companies and freelancers actually strive to apply it. Deceit in marketing is blameworthy but common enough that we're used to it. However using counterproductive or even destructive management decisions - that inevitably harms everyone from whomever is cleaning the workshop's toilet room, through the CEO's family, to the customer and the sea turtles.
Softstar is just too costly for me to purchase from. I cannot recall the last time I bought shoes of quality that were NOT leather. The whole “eco” thing is BS.
$250 for that? You know you could buy any shoe at that price that is well cushioned and well supported? At this price get the hoka hiking boots your feet will feel great after a day of hiking in them.

Great. Something else I didn't know existed 5 minutes ago that I really want now. Thanks.

What health problems specifically?

That sounds pretty nice. We need some more work boots like that!
Surprised barefoot content doesn't get as many views. I only watch your barefoot content tbh.
My favorite brand for the past decade. Thanks for finally showing them some love!

super happy to have so many shoe options made in Oregon
I love these boots! I bought them in an all black leather version. Super comfortable to wear all day during the cooler months.
Love the barefoot videos. I exclusively wear barefoot style shoes and boots.
Those look very nice! But I think your collaboration boots with Jim Green African troopers looks wayyy better! Can’t wait to get my pair!👌😎👍

I really liked the one pair of soft star shoes I've owned. I keep meaning to buy another pair.
Waiting for the review for the next Origin box with the new Moc toes and denim jacket

Really interested in your review of these; from the unboxing they look pretty great.
Holy hell these look awesome!
this is going to be another Sons of Sever video collab, im sure of it

FYI if u buy the african rangers, u have a 6 monthish wait, got mine day of launch and they said like december.
The COD hit marker made me chuckle
Got a pair of these and they do run small.
Are these vibram sole available for resoling your jim green collaboration barefoot boots ?

Will you be getting a pair of the new origin moc boots? I am interested in those, but I didn’t like the two boots you cut open by them.
Nobull, now owned by Tom Brady, makes Superfabric gym sneakers.
This. Great shoes too. They last forever!
Interesting boot. Are they resoleable?
You could glue a new one as long, as it’s not worn through.
it is resoleable as theyre a stitchdown construction

Your name is Weston Kay?
The material looks like what NoBull use on their trainers.
Their site says they have resoleable sandals. That's what I'm talking about.
the caveman animations, rofl!

I don't know what it is, but something seems off with you? Hope all is well.....
wtf since when and why we have 2 chanels? lol anyways, subbed

Some of us cannot wear cushioned shoes. One of my feet won't tolerate arch support either.
They just look really cheap...
If I wanted barefoot shoes with super thin soles like that tbh I'd just go out wearing socks
Flexseal some socks
These shoes were made from fresh natural American Ugly Tree materials 🤮🤮🤮
