Reminds me of a horror movie where the main character ends up in a hopeless situation involving inevitable death or eternal misery, then the credits roll. No light at the end of this tunnel. Your life & everything you are, or have been, every happy experience you've had, every color you've seen, every person you've known is now a worthless, non-existent fragment of your past. I've seen them twice at house of blues Chicago and really enjoyed both shows and will continue to see them play live every chance I get. Great musician and vocals are on point and videos are amazingly done.

I was alone in an alien land, but, this album, specifically this song, was a refuge for me, a safe place to recuperate in and to survive in. I'm externally thankful to this band.

I'm getting older myself and have seen some of the brightest burning people get married and turned into a mere shadow of there former selves.

Skrymrson Zyur I don't think there's a "correct" meaning. You could take it literally, metaphorically ect. It can be interpreted in really any form regarding control and imprisonment. I see it as the antagonist luring their victim in with promises of comfort and safety, but then they trap and control them. Over time, the victim realizes the antagonist's true intentions but has no hope of escaping.
I think it's about the people not letting him be himself, and getting isolated because of it. Either way one of my favorites next to Lullaby and Vultures Fly
