- Stoke City produced an away day performance to be proud of as Steven Schumacher’s side secured their Championship status with a 1-0 victory at Southampton.
The Potters displayed endeavour and commitment to more than match their promotion-chasing hosts and created several opportunities either side of Tyrese Campbell’s sublime finish which earned all three points.
City moved to 53 points with victory at St. Mary’s as a run of one defeat from seven matches has seen Schumacher’s side climb away from the bottom three at the season’s business end.

As a soton fan watching that dross, stoke were everything that we wasnt. Better all over the pitch and cud have been more if it wasnt for our keeper.
They gave the game away makes you wonder if there was something else going on
Strange how Tyrese and Stoke hit form at the end of the season. Makes me happier that we can pull together as a team and I am now looking forward to next season.

It`s rather amusing when Campbell goes to sit on the hoarding after scoring,in true FIFA game style.That`s his second goal of the season,not 22nd.If he is still at Stoke next season I can see him grabbing at least 6 goals,he`s so prolific.On a serious note we are looking much better as a team,and not just a bunch of individuals.We defended from the front,and pressed really well throughout the game.Roll on next season,when with 3-4 new first teamers we may even be able to push for a top half finish.
