I'll second that, we have 4 of Jimmy's engines,3 clones and a small block!! Great horsepower and bullet proof.. Jimmy's always available for technical support!!
Clones originally started just like the flathead did and as the predators are now .. as a box stock engine . They were originally a copy of the Honda 200gx engine and were a harbor freight engine called greyhound then they came out with the bsp engines ( box stock project) then they started coming out with the cams and carbs and headers etc and switched from 5 bolt head and I believe 6 bolt side cover to 4 bolt sidecover and head ... they are now made by dupar ducar Tillotson mainly... predators down south are already going the route of the clones and are a ideal rwyb and stock appearing engine base easy and cheap to make 18hp with them... they are still box stock up here because they haven't been around as long give it time that'll change lol
@kart6t3_ben I think they will stick around as long as the tracks keep the rules as a true box stock engine going forward... flatrun is the one track I can say for sure is not gonna let it change the only thing they do differently then all the other tracks is allow you to run a disc or drum clutch and you can remove the governor from it...
ah man no love for the LO206 ? lol... Here in New England the 206 is pretty popular. Also , predominantly here in the 207 we run rocker karts. Which is just a flat kart with a floating cage. My step son runs a rocker with a LO206 on the dirt and Champ with a built animal on the pavement. Our home track is a LO206 track across 7 classes. From Jr boxstock to wing champ all on the 206
I run pro clone and weight is 420, I have to run against 360. Everyone says weight doesn't matter, but when I ask to set 1 race at #400 to see who the real champ at the track. They always reject me when I ask. It's ok, but weight really does matter.
There’s actually two different version of the predator. There’s a Hemi and non Hemi. They are both allowed in the Predator class. Some people will say the Hemi is faster others say no the non Hemi is faster. I ran a non Hemi and I was running with the Hemis just fine. The Ghost is pretty much the Hemi with a little hotter cam and a 6100 rpm rev limiter. The Ghost is supposed to be a direct competitor to the Briggs 206.
@@kart6t3_ben I’m working on getting a super stock style class started at Avon and want to include the Predators, Clones and Tillotson 225s. There’s no step between the 206 class to KT 100 speed wise. I think this would be a good step up from 206 for that person who wants to go faster, but not learn a whole new engine.
Interesting, I had the inverse experience. Had a non hemi and could keep up with the hemis til I switch. I’ve never seen anyone do well on a stock non hemi.
@@cartertalley3035 I think with being a mass produced engine you’re gonna find those ones that are super strong and others that are just massive turds. I used to race snowmobiles and we built two sleds with 500s built as close to identical as you can build two engines. If I put the set up my dad ran on his my sled fall flat on it’s face, but if I ran a little bit richer and couple other tweaks mine would out run his. So he tried my set up and his sled fell on its face. We have found a similar situation with the Animals we have built for where we race karts.
Opens are sometimes faster than flatheads
I always like it when Jason shows up, we never have any mosquitoes for miles away.
Love ya Jason
Yes!!!
Jangdong were some of the first.
Glad to see the shout out to jrpw engines. I have two of them both very fast and Jimmy Rivers is a great guy to deal with.
I’ve always known those to be very stout engines. I’ve never had one but a household name and very recognizable even from open guys like me.

Race clone and predator. Lot of fun
I have it experience it sometime.

Yup. Before long it’ll be clones. Unless the extreme budget classes hold true.

Pa wings are called outlaw here in nc, atleast at my local track
Thank You very much
Limited are fun too
I’d have a 30min video trying to describe all the available local classes I’m sure. 🤣

Just don’t see them around here. Knew I’d get some engines thrown my way I didn’t cover. Lol.

Absolutely weight matters. 365/375 your splitting hairs but 360 to 400 there is no way it can’t.

QRC outlaw karts
Sometimes people refer to outlaws as uas. Confusing. Lol.
I thought it was Rotax it might be different for the us but in Europe it’s Rotax?
I’ve seen rotax as a open engine in the US. There was a water cooled sudam too. So many different options.
Clones you also have NKA Rules and AKRA rules.
I’m not that familiar with the differences. Kt100 has their own too.
Outlaw karts.
👍
Here super heavy, driver must weigh 200lbs, kart and driver 400.
Yeah! At least I’m 205 just need to weigh the kart down. Lol.
Claim a motor? How the hell can someone "claim" your $500 motor for $200? Get eff'ed. That's theft.
That’s the deterrent not to cheat. If you don’t surrender it your DQd and possibly asked not to return at some places.
