Thanks for the reply. Wow so with each duplex I can use two 1500 watt heaters which total 4 heaters at 6000 watts. This morning I ended up renting salamanders and propane anyways but good to know for next time. I could use a generator for other stuff
@@sidneymeyer9014 I checked the valves after the 3 days. We have a 14 amp septic pump, a 8amp sump pump, a kitchen aid refer, and electric oven. I would only use one burner at a time. We ended up losing power for 12 straight days, while raining. I powered the entire house and kept it going to avoid my garage from flooding and my septic from backing up. Maybe 6000w at 1 time, no problems. Started right up the next time i used it.
I have the same generator and that I've used for two hurricane seasons so far and in those two seasons it has seen a lot of use. I did a quick review of it a couple days ago and I was requested to do a more detailed look at it for the ones that didn't know anything about generators but I think I'm just going to send them your link because you did such a great job on the review.
Looks like I purchased the right one, had so many to look at and some with cheaper prices but this one gets 5 stars and looks to be well built and I just happen to have a DeWalt repair place about 8 miles from me........just in case :) Now that I have this in my garage, I feel a little more at ease about SHTF day.
I have this model, 4 1/2 years now and is excellent. Regarding the battery, I use a Battery Tender maintenance charger connected to the battery that keeps it fully charged but will NOT damage the battery.
Nice generator. Pretty much same motor as the Predator 8750 W though. Just looks a little different on the start rope housing and the Predator doesn’t have “idol down”
how do I know when to charge the battery. I start mine regularly, but if it happens to need a charge when the power is out, then the electric start feature is useless.
How much watts can I put on one duplex outlet if I am using both outlets? Why do you mean 110 and 220, isn't it 120 and 240 volts? I am thinking of buying this to power several electric heaters at 1500 watts each and am wondering how much heaters I can plug into this at 1500 watts??
Got a problem with my generator 7000 how did running put it on the truck fell down and flipped over and now I don't want to start it sounds like something's loose inside the engine can you help me
@WorkShopAddict have you checked out the CAT 10000 generators? I have been trying to decide between the dewalt 8000 and the CAT 10000. Any suggestions between the two?
@@lukesutton7891 I have not looked at Cat Gens. If I were to get in the 10k area I would come insider a home unit that automatically turns on and runs on natty gas. If you need it mobile, then I would look at what one rolls easier. These start to get big and heavy quickly.
You just push the reset button back in and the power should be restored to the receptacle....If this isn't the case, maybe your reset button is defective....
Generac builds these, the motors are honda clones so the gx390 or gx420 carburetor fits perfectly same as a predator probably built in same factory You can get the dewalt 8000w/10000w from factorypure $789 shipped A cheap dual fuel gx390 carburetor and it runs great on natural gas with some simple adjustment
I know its not a good idea to plug a welding machine to a generator better to buy a gas powered welding machine , but does this unit can support enought current to a small welding shop?? As always great review
Mine wont put out 220v anymore was using it on an irrigation well and it just stopped putting 220v out only got about 20min of use lol still fires up and runs 110v
Actually the Runtime Meter DOES display the total unit run hours for a short duration before providing available run time given the load currently applied and remaining fuel volume....Page 7 point 21 of the manual....
I thought so too at first before using the generator....I much prefer the Runtime Meter in practice because the fuel consumption varies greatly depending on the load....I watched the runtime instantly go from 10 hours to 6 hours the moment my wife ran the microwave....As soon as the microwave shut off the hours went back up to 10....Now throw in a couple air conditioners, 2 refrigerators, TV, etc.....It's a better way to see when your going to need to refuel....Keeping it on a level surface is important to get a good reading too.....
Hi Good Morning I have a question I have a 7000 watt Generator just like in the video My problem I having its not charging back the battery I receive a 12v dc charger wat it does where i have to install it Or wat i could do to get the batter to keep charging i have to pull start it i can't pass start it the battery die Please say how or where i have to install the battery charger on the generator
Not sure of age, but generators can stop producing power and need to be "excited" by using a type of DC battery or turning an electric corded drill manually (that is plugged in the generator) Try looking at the specific user manual or search it online, but best to speak with a service center or the MFR first.
Every home should have one of these just for a back up when a disaster stricks ! Especially now days !

I bought this generator for our hurricane preparation. It’s very nice. Thanks for the review
We had to run ours 3 days straight. Re fueling carefully while running. Ran like a champ!
Running for 3 days straight? No overheating issues. How much of a load did you have it on for the 3 days? Thanks.......

Great and very explained review that even my wife knows how to run it.
Thank you very much go a little upgrade, got the 8k watts.

Cant tell you enough, how helpful this videos been. Having just bought this exact unit.
Aaron McRae Glad we could help!
Are you the Lizard king, and if so, can you do anything ?
Excellent review, great to know about the battery charger and the need to change the break in oil. is there a drain plug for the oil?
Thanks for the review. Just what I was looking for. I’m buying this one tomorrow.
Thanks for the review! Been looking at getting the 8000 watt dewalt! This helped
Can you make a video how the choke is hook. In the GD 7000 E

Think its a good deal reconditioned for $699.99 with 1yr warranty ? And 120 day satisfaction guarantee ?
Yes as long as it looks new and is not beat up!
I saw one at a pawnshop. Brand new and I layaway it and I can't wait to get it. 👍 $600

What is the best fuel stabilizer to store a generator for long periods of time?
Thanks!
Stabil 360
Thanks for the advice.

The 120 outlets, also commonly referred to as 110, will each hold half the watts, so 3500 each side.
Got a problem with my generator 7000 how did running put it on the truck fell down and flipped over and now I don't want to start it sounds like something's loose inside the engine can you help me
I like that there is no CO sensor on this one. Mine has it and it constantly shuts off when there is no breeze outside.
Nice generator. I would have like to see a paper air filter over a foam one though.
Is it better than your Ryobi 7000 with the Honda engine, in other words if you can only have one which would it be?
vaughnburrows This one took the place of the Honda/Ryobi unit because of it's recovery time.

This doesn't necessarily mean clean power, stable sure but have to scope it to see what the true wave form is
Excellent Video. Fast, to the point.....waiting on Hurricane Ian.
Does anyone know what type 0 ,1,2,3,4 means on these generators? Just curious.
Nice generator but how does the reset button work i how do you reset it i try to reset mine and is very hard could you explaim that for me please

battleminion A welder, yes. A welding shop? One would have to know how many welders and at what amps they draw.
WorkshopAddict thanks it's just one 220v welder and a chop saw
battleminion As long as it is a small welder, you are ok.
Very well made video, nice job very helpful thank you.
Great reviews, trusted, thorough and comprehensive as always. Keep it up, we value your opinion.
Great review. Going to try to buy one one now.
Mine wont put out 220v anymore was using it on an irrigation well and it just stopped putting 220v out only got about 20min of use lol still fires up and runs 110v
The voltage regulator is bad. It is a 20 dollar item.
Can you check total hr run time on dewalt 7000 generator
Joseph Barbero No..... Adding a mechanical hour meter would be easy and should have been done at the factory.
Actually the Runtime Meter DOES display the total unit run hours for a short duration before providing available run time given the load currently applied and remaining fuel volume....Page 7 point 21 of the manual....
why mine only works on one side? and side that works now keeps breaking have to reset often the safety breaker gfi.
Thanx for the review !!
Does it go to 240v ?
It has a 240V outlet, so 220~240, not sure if you mean the exact voltage of "240"
Very nice generator just sucks there's no fuel gauge..

ITS NOTHING BUT A OVERPRICED GENERAC Generac makes them for Dewalt !!
it is cheap.. and i love dewalt.. but i would never buy these old school generator... honda and yamaha is the way to go...
all my white dude tell me if it not a Honda is not worth shit
Avoid this generator. It would s a cheap piece of crap.
No, it is NOT a piece of crap! Troll elsewhere.
