I had a similar issue on my Cruze 1.8. Replaced the PCV for three times and it would never last. Then I replaced the original valvecover for the aluminum one. It's been almost a year and still doing fine.
My valve cover started leaking oil. I thought maybe the bolts needed tightened. I ended up breaking one of the bolts 😖 I have my new aluminum valve cover coming tomorrow. I have yet to take the old valve cover off so I have no idea if the broken bolts is recessed or sticking out where I can grab it with pliers 🤞
If not you going to have to drill it out maybe you can get away with rtv on that corner and no bolt since the aluminum valve cover clamps good. Torque the bolts with your hand on the head of the ratchet not the handle
@@delatuned I got some left handed drill bits. Started out very good. And then it went to complete hell. I got to the 3rd smallest drill bit and right when I put the drill bit into the hole the very tip of the drill bit broke inside the hole. The bolt is slightly sticking out but it’s rounded so I can’t grab it with vice grips. I think the only way I’ll be able to try and drill it out now is to grind it down flush in hopes to get that tip of the drill bit out so I can drill again. In the meantime I just used RTV and got the new valve clover on and so far no leaks 🤞
Ya I bought one too. Haven’t installed it yet, been busy and our Summer hasn’t hit yet ( needs to be close to 70 degrees out for the JB Weld to cure quicker ( still 15-24 hours to completely cure ). I’d like to have an extra 20-25 hp without running high octane fuel. I’ve seen videos where guys use a dremel to modify the intake ports ( there’s a plastic “ baffle “ that blocks off about 20% of the ports ). They say the engine will perform better and even get better fuel mileage. I can’t see how getting more air without getting more fuel would work on am otherwise stock engine.
@user-lw3mc4lo3o if the pcv valve is bad? There is mixed information I've never replaced them I always get the fix from the valve cover only. But like I stated on the video usually the pcv goes bad is cause there is a leak on the pressurized intake side causing the vaccum to me excessive where that pxv hose is connected causing the vacuum to be extreme inside the valve cover
hi have a chevy trax 1.4t tuned with bnr 93 pump gas, kn intake, bnr wastegate actuator, msd coilpack making 180whp what other engine mods should i do?? im adding a bov soon.
You gotta wait till you do everything to then tune btw all the stuff you've done dont give you barely any power. Do a cat delete. Buy a ported intake I think bnr sells them and you could buy the bigger wheel turbo from zzp or send your turbo to a company that can fit a larger compressor
That’s not the PCV valve. It’s part of the PCV system but it’s just a pressure erase diaphragm. The PCV valve is in the intake manifold and there’s another one where that plastic hose attaches to the turbo inlet. What make is the valve cover?

@GadGetHackss the gasket is bigger and instead of having 1 sealer line, it has 3 of them for better seal. Is holding great! Also aluminum has better clamping force for better seal!
I would cleaned the surface of the head and used grey RTV where the timing cover meets just to be safe. It’s holding great after driving 2000 miles straight on a road trip. Also use the Felpro seal and the OEM torquing sequence, torqued to 10 ft lbs.
@delatuned That's good. I didn't say you didn't know what you were doing, I'm just saying that's what I did. The amazon review I saw stated the gasket it comes with wasn't the beat. I know ZZPs Aluminum cover cones with a better gasket though
@SonicSouz is been 6 months the gasket hasn't leak at all the clamp force of the aluminum valve cover is much greater. Zzp doesn't make their valve covers they buy them from a seller just like ebay. The only complain that I have is the cap o ring was leaking but I put thr oem cap on and it fixed the problem. Zzp doesn't make parts they sell parts from distributors probably the same as this one.
@delatuned I'm aware that ZZP resells parts. They've been found soing so either their aluminum water outlet, the catch can in their PCV kit, and even their big brake kit calipers are Cadillac ATS.
@SonicSouz sorry I just hate when people mention me that company. I don't put money on people's pockets that don't help the platform. Everything they sell the pcv the big break kit wish I have on my car was other people's ideas and things other people did now they making money off that they are not making aftermarket turbo manifolds or nothing line that to expand the platform all they doing is literally selling ported oem parts. Idknow man I don't buy nothing from them. Mind that now I had 2 1.4 vehicles and 1 1.8

what about the intake manifold valve?? doesn't that need to be replace?

How do you replace the pcv diaphragm in the aluminum valve cover.

Don't you need to put some silicone on the left edges where the timing cover meets the block?
No. Especially with the gaskets this valve cover brings.
