This is by far the best in the "We race to find ________" series. There were so many highlights here. -Each catching the other's legendary -John finding Rayquaza that Mikey missed all because they happened to live in different time zones -Mikey's never-ending struggle with Miltank -Slash -Mikey's slip-up with his "Godfish" nickname -John's brilliant interrogation over Whiscash's moveset -John's genius deductive reasoning to go back and find the truth behind "Godfish" This was excellent content. I only wish it was longer. Maybe next time you could assign two Pokemon and you only win when you find both.
In hindsight he should have said it was a Gyarados, Godfish would be much more fitting for that than a Wiscash lol, so it would have been a lot more believable. This totally isn’t a biased opinion cause Gyarados is my favorite Pokémon or anything
Hey John, you, MandJTV, and Purplecliff should do “First to catch all 8 gym leaders’ aces!” in different games and race. I think that would be a pretty crazy and fun video to watch!

Not to mention the priceless reactions of absolute panic when they do find the other legend. The boss music sting when it happens is also a fantastic touch. Here's a fun fact. Due to type and chart changes, Clefairy and Clefable went from being neutral to karate chop in Gen 1, to weak to it in Gen 2, to resistant to it in Gen 6.
QOTD: Rayquaza in oras, had his catch rate to be better than gen 3, cause you have to capture it in order to progress the story. So that's why in the shiny episode john caught the shiny rayquaza.
I mean, he had already gone past that route before it became night time in his game. At that point I doubt he's making a mental note to go back and check just a single encounter rather than just progressing in the game.
Fun fact: In BDSP, Dusclops has a 98% Radar encounter chance on Route 224, which makes it one of the easiest Pokemon to shiny hunt for using PokeRadar. Really like the fact that people are giving DP a chance lately instead of ONLY platinum. It makes me happy as pearl was the first Pokémon game I ever owned and needs more recognition overall.
Platinum is objectively better, whether you like Diamond and Pearl or not. Diamond and Pearl are downright unnecessary - as far BDSP actually - if you own Platinum.
Random Pokéfact: One of Gen 1's bugs is that although Omastar learns the same level up moves as Omanyte it does so at a lower level. All other evolutions learn moves at higher levels, presumably to force you to make a decision as to whether you want higher stats or better moves.
