MTU (Maybach) Music! D1015 (unassisted) climbs up & stops on the Lickey Incline - 21st July 2024

Turn up your speakers to listen to D1015/52015 'WESTERN CHAMPION' hauling the BLS ' The Nosh and Slosh' tour through Culham and then up the Lickey Incline, mostly unassisted until after it had passed me (explained below). It stopped just short of the summit due to an alleged missed AWS (but I have no proof or confirmation of this), and I feel the following information might have contributed to this brief pause to proceedings - but this is only my personal speculation
Apparently, a 'transmission overheat' occurred which triggered the rear engine to revert back to idle - this can be seen in this video here: • D1015 Lickey 1Z53 Swin... by 'John Goodale' who was just further north than where I was, and you can see both engines are powering before the speed starts to drop significantly and then hear the 57 powering towards the end - obviously the train Western then comes to a stop off camera
