0:17 That's a great way to get a sample that you don't have clearance for. "Sorry mate, your song just happened to get picked up from a radio station by my cereal box distortion/drum machine rig when we were recording."
Wrap the cereal box in foil afterward. The benefits are twofold, for one, it'll look cool, and for two, it'll stop you getting radio stations mixed in with your distortion.
hey dude, thank you for the circuit, it works great. i also get some kind of shortwave radio station, like mixed spanish french german and british. its cool and creepy at the same time. maybe its like that because its evening...
LOL )) The other guy commented that you need to wrap it over with a foil to stop getting those... I guess you need to connect that foil to GROUND contact (of any jack).
I use a bunch of cheap and nasty guitar pedals bought second hand, in some configurations, you don't even need to add distortion, as they sound bad on their own, I need another distortion pedal for another project, I'll be building this one in a non metal box as I love using shortwave radio in my sets. My only concern is that the shortwave will be drowned out by the electro magnetic interference caused by the p.a., which is why I usually have to pre-record radio to use when I perform live, which defeats the random aspect a little bit. Nice one Sam, another top vid, genius.
If you're trying to get the best shortwave reception, night time is the best, it's to do with atmospherics (I don't claim to understand why), also there is less industrial activity generating rf interference. If you intend to utilise the interference, try attaching a long length of wire, certain lengths better than others on shortwave frequencies, apparently 29foot is a good length thats still reasonably practical. My pedal board picks up the washing machine and combi boiler, which isn't that cool. I'm running a fairly cheap power supply and can't justify a decent power conditioner, which would remove this.
I think the reason you're getting radio waves is because your cereal box isn't (metal) shielded. Most guitar pedals are in metal enclosures for that reason! We've all been there building things when we accidentally pick up radio stations haha
well.. you can buy yourself conductive paint for 30 pound... or just connect the pins with ordinary copper wire for few cents and "maybe" an el cheapo soldering iron. YOU DECIDE!!
Probably the most watchable channel in my feed!
Make more diy vids, synths to the masses!

you truly are a national treasure
International treasure fr
Mate, you make creating DIY synths look so easy. Can we get a video biography on you? Maybe on your electronics background etc 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻

foil to GND also?
@@KiR_3d yup foil to GND
please do more pedal builds!! been wanting to try this for a while, you make it seem so simple.

This is so Cool!!!! You deserve a million subs!!!
"YOU'VE GOT A SONG!"
God I wasn't ready to laugh that hard.
I'm so happy a friend of mine shared your account with me.
I just built this into a guitar pedal, good little circuit haha. gonna be crunching up some drum sounds with it for sure!
you are definitely one of a very special kind :D I LIKE!!!
Dude… you are distorting normality! 😂
Great video…will build my own! 🤗
Can we do a Count Chocula stereo phaser next?
I've been all over google/yt looking for groovy circuits to try. I always land on LMNC!
i feel like I can identify strongly with that paint... i'm not sure why or what to but i feel an emotional connection. we are one
I love these videos!!!
good to hear!
You should 10000% start making modules for eurorack man! Plox

I see a transistor and i want it painted black...
this is cool
Would this work using a metal box, or would it conduct the electricity all over the place and mess everything up? Total noob here
You would need to mount the piece of cardboard inside the box so it dosent touch anything
I freaking loooove cereal.
that is what i like to call entertaining education
i'm about to try with a 100uf Electrolytic capacitor.. i'll let you know if I die
LMAO )) It's a good comedy ) I guess it's working but the show is better than the "pedal" :))

Can i use sausages instead of resistors?
@@buchstabensuppenfa7545 in all honesty you probably can if you choose the right sausage
"Ah don't hurt me!" 😂
I made mine in a tuna can. Any way to stop the hum?
😀👍
What if I use 12V instead of 9V ???
Ye good ole bazz fuss
why didn't we get to see it in action! :(
0:07 - Go cereal!
how do i make this work with a 9v dc adapter to use with a power supply
Works the same way. + to + and ground to ground.
Song at background?

more jumpcuts, I'm not dead yet
how would you hook this up to a eurorack power supply ?
Connect the + with the + and the gnd with the gnd?
Lol! You da man!!
I HAVE THAT FKN BOWL SHOUT OUT TO FREE SHIT IN THE BOTTOM OF CEREAL PACKETS
transistor isn´t in the list
it would have been cool to see it more in action :(
Who & Why does anybody thumb'down this???
11 thumbs down... hmmm... his school teachers! :D ))
it's not academic! Do you get it? )
Its seems there's always one person that you can never please.
@@KiR_3d Yeah that´s the point. It´s NOT academic ! It´s NOT boring and you even understand what is going on and on top you have fun :)
Let's hear the fucking thing !
Wait. You guys call frosted flakes frosties?...alright then continue
This video should be called how to start a house fire
It makes me feel silly
