The funny thing is Im a Guile main and have been stuck in high Diamond for a while. Thought id learn JP just for fun as a side character.. No joke, he carried me to Master Rank in a matter of weeks.. just shows that he can still be a menace in lower rank regardless of nerfs lol
They slapped Chun on the wrist-that's why she never wins anything and Valmaster and Moke are the only Chuns with noteworthy tournament placements, right? 😭 That's why everyone's playing Chun instead of switching to Ed, Cammy, and Rashid 😭😭
Chun got more than a slap on the wrist. She’s not bad now, but the bigger damage scaling on some key combo routes and slower back-walk speed means she has to work harder to maintain dealing good damage, and she’s already a technical character.
Was playing Tekken 8 before Akuma update, then back and was confused on where is Luke and JP gone to cuz usually You would often see both. Then continue the ranked grind with Ken again, I totally thought I was doing so bad with SF6 now that I kept failing my input with Ken (later I found out they change a move's input read) after the move fixed then I can do combo normally again. Ken to me doesn't change that much, like he is still strong let's be honest here and got him to diamond 2 days ago. Now time to switch to other character, Terry seems interesting though (I hope...)
Aki's damage didn't got better, she got new routes. And the thing they say about her standing MP was already there. The only place where she got buffed is with her Drive Gauge.
@@ΚρανίΩ no dude, I´ve been playing with AKI since she came out, her damage is almost the same. She didn´t got more harmful combos she just got acces to the tools she barely used when she came out.
The ability to link to stand light kick absolutely increased her damage. There are so many scenarios where you wouldn't have been able to convert into m & h whip before.
@@evilded2 her connecting to standing light kick only helps her to connect to medium lash and the bubble. Like I said her damage is almost the same. If the opponent is not poisoned then the light kick doesn´t add a lot of a damage.
@@gerardesc7221 I have to assume your trolling or didn't play aki in season one but just in case I'll inform you. H whip is the best ender if the opponent isn't poisoned but is very unsafe so you want to be able to hit confirm it. There were many situations in season one where you would connect with crouching LP at a range where (due to pushback) a second crouch LP wouldn't reach. This meant you could not safely cancel into H whip. This was not an uncommon situation since you would like to use c LP to frame trap, after forward HK for instance, after the first jab however you would end up in the situation above. The buff to her conversion ability now means she is getting significantly more damage in this interaction where she would have got almost nothing before.
i'm curious, what matchups does honda do well in? as a former honda main who has since switched to Bison, i thought honda was trash and lost to everybody
@benross9174 you misunderstood. The guy is just saying that Honda bullies characters without projectiles. Not that every projectile character is a bad matchup (though most of them are, Honda has it rough)
Chun slapped on the wrist? Yall are fuckin' high. Movement speed nerf. 20% damage scaling to her st.hk (used to be strongest starter) Can no longer do her OD kikoken loops ALSO do 20% scaling now. Scaling done to her SA2 combos. The combos that utilize both of the above btw... so 20%*3 4/6M b.mp/f.mp no longer hit confirmable. You see less Chuns than you see Luke or JP now..
He clearly doesn't play DeeJay. DeeJay had the worst and most unnecessary Nerfs since release. Luke and JP were OP and deserved nerfs. Yet they received less severe nerfs than DeeJay. DeeJay struggled with anti airs, so they nerfed his anti airs... DeeJay could do a lot of damage on punish counter so they gave a huge nerf to his st hp with a 20% combo damage reduction if you start with it. But he can still get the same damage with cr. hp. So all they did was nerf his neutral game, st. hp being his longest normal. St hp st lk sobat kick is one of his main combos in neutral. Now the damage is pitiful.
