There are some _insanely_ talented, incredibly young people in Japan right now. We're watching the next generation of the FGC forming right before my eyes, and I for one could not be more excited for it
Absolutely love this content. The storylines & energy/emotions are unmatched. It's a testament to so many good moves on the Japanese side of things. 1) A bunch of their FGC players integrated super hard with the general streamers. Whether it's huge GTA roleplay servers, Minecraft or textbook streamer games like League & Valorant. 2) The earnestness by which everyone approaches any event or huge collab servers. Ppl put in honest effort & take things very seriously on both the newbies & veteran sides. This applies to both legit competitions or simply committing to a bit/character. 3) This one's not talked about enough. Japanese streamers have done so much for how women are treated online. Obviously Japanese audiences have the same incels & morons but since the general attitude is dictated by how the scene at large behaves, it's done wonders for female participation & representation. This is helped by the fact that a ton of super popular & respected Vtubers are female (there's even a dedicated Vtuber org that only recruits women who are talented at games aka VSPO). They're always invited & treated equally which is a super low bar that sadly most other scenes in the world can't clear. All this took active steps & wasn't always the case. Hope others learn the right lessons.
Honestly I wish there was more just fun FGC content out here, I really loved this Sajam Slam cause it was cool to dumb stuff like Punk playing against Sykunno.
If you're not averse to watching more Japanese FGC stuff like this, there have been a few SF6 streamer invitationals. They'll typically bring in amateur streamers (normal or vtuber) and have them spend time with FGC coaches, and then run team or solo tourneys. They're always low stakes and just for fun, but some of them still get super invested and emotional, so it's a good time. One of the most recent examples was a small invitational run by Aragami Oga, a vtuber from Holostars, where the coaches - Higuchi and Tachikawa - had to undergo actual shock torture (obviously low voltage) each time one of their participants lost. It was hilarious to watch, especially when the actual fighters were trolling the hell out of them by making last minute character switches and stuff, trying to guarantee they'd lose.
I believe you mean Utahiroba Jun. Saw him around the SF6 scene talking with some pros and vtubers since the boom but haven't seen him on events. He might go on Shishiro Cup 2 since they rejected him in the first one for having too high MR lol His twitter handle indeed described himself as Ojisan. Hence, he must be hunted down lmao.
Very WWE. The FGC could use more of this theatrical stuff, whether the old guys have to 'drop' 17 combos in a round to give up the set or not. Let's build up some young faces and then start bringing back in some heels to set them up against. We need a new Fchamp.
If she manage to win against Jun her next opponent should be 4 heavenly kings ojisan. Nuki, Tokido, Haitani and Sako. and the last boss should be ojisan god, the lord and savior himself, Daigo.
According to her twitter she's 2000+ MR... she's no joke at all, no wonder a guy who's only been training for a couple weeks couldn't beat her. Coming as close as he did is pretty impressive if he doesn't really play this game.
@@ANIMEILLUMINATI ah, if he’s been playing SF6 from day 1 then that makes more sense. getting to the level where you can be competitive with 2000MR after only a couple weeks would be insanely fast, even for kokujin.
I listened to this play by play on my drive home like an old man listening to the World Series on the radio.
real thats how i got to see (hear but oh well) most of capcom cup. its kinda funny
i did that on my 3 hour drive listening to the lcq for capcom cup. absolutely killed my data.
Like a true sports fan lol
I think the fact he trained for weeks to beat her with mago and then she actively adapted and grew in the set to beat him was such an arc
can't wait for her to beat Jiyuna oji, the legendary SEAM champ
She coming for them shorts!!!
no one else is capable of handling the power of the shorts
"Betty Chan 😢" is so hilarious
She is the Randy Orton of Street Fighters.
Betty approaching ole dude and you hear “I hear voices in my head, they council me, they understand, they talk to me…” 😂
legend killer type shit

We best be careful she doesn't start playing P4A.
I will stop her.
The future is now, old man.
Fuudo is almost twice her age, right? How many oji-san must perish until he jumps in and ends this 😂
Allum 😂
that towel is sick
That's nice. It's giving me some yakuza substory kind of vibe lmao, inspirational pocket circuit and shit

Yes, that's what I've been trying to tell people for years now. Tournaments/Sweaty gameplay is great but you need fun stuff to grow.

Thanks for the coverage. This feels super important. Hahaha.
Yeah really cool stuff happening in Japan.
Anime of the season.
I lost everything with the ones who lost to her cheering her up. XD
This is so cool, man.
I played Betty Chan in pools for Evo 2024 super cool. We went final game and she got me! Super cool she is becoming a big influence in japan FGC
you can have fun, be serious, be competitive without attacking others personally is my takeaway 😊
The sajam slam is probably our closest comparison. The western equivalent to this wholesome competition.

She is learning well.
running out of old men is such a funny thing that had to be said 😭
old abare meets the new abare 🥲
Afaik the next oji to be hunted is Oosu Akira, his training vids with Pugera are mad funny
Come one, West Oji , Low tear god, DS Phil, and Lord Aris
Almost at the coveted 100k...
Edit:
Is that Reina/Juri/Bettychan mashup art? Nice
100k dream has been long dead. Just uploading for fun now.
Holy hell that Juri fanart is dope as fuck.
ISNT DAIGO "OJII-SAN" STATUS NOW?.. GET HIS ASS IN THERE WITH BETTY! TIME TO SEE WHAT'S UP!
Final boss
Betty chan is the old man slayer

I'm jealous of this ojisan with actual hair up top 😢
I wonder who would be in the Oji san League in US. Alex Valle, Mike Ross, Sanford Kelly, LI Joe?
Dropping combos? Time to spread the gospel of modern controls again to these geezers.
If she manage to win against Jun her next opponent should be 4 heavenly kings ojisan.
Nuki, Tokido, Haitani and Sako.
and the last boss should be ojisan god, the lord and savior himself, Daigo.
I want to see her vs Fuudo, and Yuka crying after every round no matter who wins it.
Noooo. Even Kokujin. 😭 This oji hunter is the real deal man.
When she gon fight Daigo? He's OG san too
You’re next. 🥊
Damn she’s a beast 👍🏽
But can she defeat..the Wazzler
In SF6 probably. In MVC2.......
When is the modern chad king p4au seam 15 champ gonna fight Betty?
Final boss
There ain't no way Betty's back😲😯😯
She is still out there hunting.
@@ANIMEILLUMINATI hunting old men? lewd
Wasn’t she competing in evo? Iirc she was playing against a smash player
how does she do it?
Iconic!!
I'm an old, grumpy fuck, but her smile makes me smile. I'm a fan.
Noah the prodigy x Alex "Calipower" Valle
2:36 she already lost to Daigo on rank a couple months ago during each other's streams. So imagine what would happen to her during this og hunt.
? Are you implying if you lose to someone once you will never be able to improve and beat them?
yo whats the song in the background?
Guilty Gear Xrd - Django Django
So whens Betty going to EVO? Has she played in EVO Japan?
She went to both
Sooooo...when Daigo?
Yuka giving that Adrianne Balboa in the BG
let Sako try!
yippee
Sf6 is the best game. The only game where you don’t have to confirm buttons and be safe. DR made everyone gud now
Our generation crossing the rainbow bridge, one oji-san a time...
Commenting on every video before Arakune BBCF combo trials. I love the "new players dunking on old guys" scene.

I mean he trained exclusively to beat her for a couple weeks. He is an OG player and has been playing SF6 since day 1.

Just a reminder that there was a UNI2 TOP 8 at UFA
I'm watching BBCF from the Greece tournament.
With Japan's declining population they're going to need to start importing oji-sans the way she's going through them.
Give me a break lol
To be fair SF6 is a pretty imbalanced game
He had to get some icyhot after what happened at 4:07 lmao, those hands are tired.
