Are you getting the latest iPhone? Is it worth going into debt just to have the latest iPhone model? Have you ever made a significant financial sacrifice to keep up with consumer trend? Do you believe companies like Apple are exploiting consumerism, or is it up to individuals to make smarter financial choices?
I'm not getting the new iPhone. I'm not in debt, but if I were, I'd skip the new iPhone. My worries are too many. Thankfully, I haven't sacrificed much to stay up with consumer trends, but this is mainly because my parents were poor and encouraged me to develop financial literacy early on. I believe Apple exploits consumerism, but we should make wiser financial decisions. We may not have learned to make wiser financial decisions in school, but we have to accept responsibility instead of making excuses at some point.
Even if you're not broke, if your phone works just fine, you really have no reason to buy a new ANYTHING as soon as it comes out. Like, you're really not missing much
I still have an iPhone 8 and it’s doing pretty good for now 😅 but I do have a category in my budget to set aside to purchase a new phone in the future once this one starts acting up
@@candy2325 I just upgraded my iPhone 8 I’ve had for 4 years (it was a little slow but did what it needed to) to a 2020 iPhone SE refurbished for $89! It works so great and nice on the bank.
The crazy thing is the “school doesn’t teach financial education” but in grade school we learned how to count money and if you didn’t have enough to buy something you couldn’t get it… soo…
Went to buy a new mattress and the salesman says, "People come in to buy the cheapest mattress to spend $2,000 on a phone." Priorities 💁♀️ At 38, a cozy and comfortable good night of sleep is worth more than the newest iPhone 😴
Ive seen them wanting the latest iphone for the price of burger king so they can go approach the ladies and make it sound like they got all this money where I even been asked "do you know someone with a ps5 for $100?" must be whatever cocktail they had talking. lol The same ones that will answer a criagslist AD as if they were blind to the price where they will say anything to get a $1500 item down to less than $50., want labor to be $20 as "that looked easy" for you not for them only for them to drive in a Cadillac escalade asking you if you got woman in your phone which is rude.
Reminds me of someone who is a Nvidia fanboy called everyone brokies, for anyone who were rightfully calling out Nvidia for the price of the RTX 4090 when it was first revealed (1600 dollars as the launch price). Plus, don't get me started with PlayStation fanboys (them defending the PS5 Pro) and Nintendo fanboys.
People who say “do what makes you happy” don’t realize that “happiness” is temporary when you’re not financially and mentally healthy. Everyone need to start being honest with themselves
I heard that from my mom and she never sounds happy, in fact she would sound like a banshee when she couldn't use your money towards these things and still wishing that she could travel when she can't and doesnt want to take the city bus as I guess it's more convenient having to pay a cab $100 or more for "minute stops"
I think also the opposite is true in that statement in that doing what makes you happy includes if having older outdated gadets that others shame you for not being rich makes you happy to continue it.
@TravellerZasha there are rich people with outdated things. I think it has more to do with telling others to spend wisely and not because the money is there to spend. That's what my grandpa was saying where the one who refused to listen that brought things to show off seems to be the main one asking for handouts so they can feed their addiction and like blackberries back then apple was mostly used as a status symbol. My brought an iPhone 6 but it's not usable due to the fact it's a sprint phone and due to owing sprint over $1400 and it's due to buying phones not for us I might add. She brought them for dead beats. And the pawn shops refuse to take anything that comes from sprint, etc as sprint tends to modify them to accept esims from their network. She even has a blackberry where she just uses it as a pocket watch due to it being sprint only and she got it when that was also a status symbol. They even told her that it ran 3d games where I was like since when?
When I was broke, I just bought a $30 prepaid phone from Walmart and inserted my SIM card. But I’m also a nerd, so I would also buy broken iPhones online for mad cheap and fix em for myself or to sell to others.
yeah a lot of the people complaining about economy also have like super nice cars they aint driving no 2010 toyota camry, they sporting the audi or bmw or mercedes like bro you aint broke you just bad at making decisions, then they retort with "well i just need something nice for me" then go get a pedicure not a 70k dollar car you gonna sit in for max 2 hours a day.
I mean inflation is beating most of everyone's ass rn, my mom and I aren't really broke and decently doing well (she's making 6 figures) but it is crazy how groceries, necessities, etc keep going up with no increase in wages. Not to mention since the rate of wages is significantly outpaced by inflation and companies take advantage of this, it will take a while before the market finds an equilibrium. Edit: I'm also considering getting a new phone with my service provider since my current one has a really damaged screen and it shows up different colors sometimes and it's gone into soft lock downs from opening an app,
Exactly! I see the drive throughs of coffee shops and ff restaurants backed up all day every day and the nice sit-down restaurants are packed out EVERY night with the parking lots full of brand new cars and trucks, then they’re on fb complaining about being broke and how prices are through the roof 😂
I still have my iPhone 12 and it still works great. I had a coworker make fun of me for still using my iPhone 12 but she has the audacity to ask me for money to buy her dog pet food because she is short on money. 🤦🏽♀️
lol Baby you spoke nothing but FACTS! I know someone right now, that lost their job. So her and the two kids had to move back home with her parents. She did get a new job eventually. But instead of prioritizing to a new place to live. She goes out and buys a brand new Land Rover 🤦🏻♀️Like hello put a roof over your children’s head 1st. And no she didn’t need a new car, because she previously had a perfectly fine 2020 jaguar. I think some people have show boat mentality and will go broke to show off.
i have an iphone se 3rd gen and i’ve had it since february 2023! i still love it and i will be using it for the next couple of years until i can’t use it anymore :)
I had an IPhone 6 and I changed it to IPhone 12 pro max the first time it came out because my old phone had really low bad battery life.I never changed my phone since then and I don’t need to, it works perfectly fine and I DON’T get the hype around buying every new drop. If it’s not broken then leave it.
I’m also still using my 12Pro! Its been working great and if I do get a new one its going to be refurbished. Its a reduced price for essentially a brand new phone.
One of the richest men I know is an old rancher who uses an old flip phone. Most of the wealthy people that I know don't give a shit about what phone they have.
I know rich people with the latest stuff. BUT they can literally afford to buy whatever they want. They also just trade in their devices and try to get a deal, even waiting for discounts or holidays for a better price. They have nothing to prove haha🤷🏽🤷🏽
He’s probably like 65 tho.. most older people ..the ones with the good money.. don’t care about electronics .. but they all have their money wasting vice…
I feel so called out right now. I just came to RUclips to watch reviews before I buy the iPhone 16. Now I've been slapped to reality. Thank you for this 😭
A better recommendation would be to no buy iPhones at all. There are so many other brands and makes of phones that are so much cheaper and better, all the same features and better ones too
that’s what i’m doing! i have the 11. splurged on the 16 pro. tbh i wouldn’t mind keeping my 11, but the camera has been seriously lagging, otherwise it’s not too bad. i plan on keeping this phone for at least another 4-5 years!
@@mrjonsey but the color of the phone shouldn’t even matter when you can get a cool case in whatever color and design you want. The color means jack sh*t tbh.
@@vixii6230eh, I got a seafoam green Pixel 6a because I wanted a pretty color and I threw a clear case on it, which looks sexy as hell. So it depends on what you do with it.
The shaming of people for the phones they have is crazy! I’m too grown for this, anyone who does not pay my bills cannot shame me for nothing I have! My iPhone 11 Pro Max still works perfectly fine. As 32 year old I couldn’t care less that a 20 year old doesn’t think I’m cool because of my phone. 😂
Yes for the iPhone pros in 2024. I bought mine new when the old one was past life support. The faceID doesn’t work. I can barely hear it when it rings but I’ve paid a lot for it to be fixed after soo many accidents and it still works and I can type this message. That TikTok of the guys shaming people about iPhone 12 in 2024 was sooo comical cause I can at least say my TV is mounted and not on the floor. Phone is paid off and I’m not stressed about some younging phone checking me
I have an 11 Pro too. I was going to get rid of it because the microphone didn’t work well and i couldn’t hear anyone when they called. I went to the phone repair shop to get it professionally cleaned, good as new. Still rocking a 2019.
I’ve never upgraded to look cool, it’s 100% always been for the camera. Since my very first phone age 8, I was obsessed with photo/video. Turned professional in high school and decided against it a few years ago. Now I do my photo and video casually for myself, but the passion will never leave. Upgrading for free through phone carrier is worth it for me personally It’s all about the use. If you’re making calls, texts, checking emails and Facebook of course u don’t need to upgrade. It’s always gonna be situational. I also don’t think anybody buys them to be “cool”, I think they buy them for the dopamine hit of having a new product with cool features. People enjoy tech, it’s why so many tech channels exist and are watched by so many. Financially dumb sure, but idk understandably human I think
I got an iPhone 8 in 2018 and I used it until last year, and only stopped because it wasn’t working as well anymore. I still think it was way too little time for such a pricey investment.
I agree. Tbh in a way I think phone shaming literally stopped because the new ones have looked THE SAME for the past 5 years. Literally can’t even tell anymore being so serious. I legit just keep having issues. My 11 bricked and my 13 Pro I have no constantly glitches at random. These phones honestly work like garbage but I use them so who am I to complain.. They just want us to buy the new one. And trust literally most people don’t even notice or care at my age (22).. Legit a grade school thing if even that anymore
I realized how ridiculous the iPhone situation is and switched to a Note 20 Ultra. Crazy thing is, this phone is 4 years older than the newest iPhone and $1k cheaper and it can do way more 💀
When I was a senior in high school, I took what was called "Consumer Math." The idea was it was a math class for those who, well, sucked at math, and would have been absolutely dead meat in Trig/Calc/Pre Calc. Instead of dealing with x and y, we learned things like how to do taxes, how to balance your checkbook(This was 2003, I'm old. I get it LOL), and how to keep an eye on the stock market. While it was humiliating at the time to not be in "normal" senior math, it was probably one of the best things that could have happened in school.
I graduated in 1999. I took this class as a quick pass class my junior year to complete my math credits requirement. It was an actually informative and helpful class!!
I've actually taking both of those classes cause I liked math and I don't get the humiliation cause there really was no difference. The math part in those finances classes actually is the simpler version of some of what you learn in precalc. Keeping an eye on the stock market because of the probably in it is actually similar to the probability in finding x and y. Also maybe its cause I have an abstract view of math.
Same. All the apps I need I have. Deleted four I didn't need when I bought it. Started with turfing the Amazon app... 😎. That's one I definitely didn't need.
Same, still got the same random android from the t mobile store I got in high school. Tbf, I'll probably get around to replacing it in a year or 2 bc the battery is starting to struggle to hold a charge, and it's old enough that replacing the battery will cost like 50 bucks less than buying another, new, random android
I had my last Samsung for almost a decade. I only had to replace it with my new Samsung because the battery wasn't charging well anymore. It was heating up real bad. Still miss that phone ngl 😅
Also since smartphones come out with new versions every year it's a guarantee that the older model will drop in price significantly, saving you a ton of money in case your phone does actually break or something.
@@SocialSymone yeah I am actually thinking of getting a new phone because of this. But it’s not an immediate need so I just keep going. I’ll probably upgrade to a refurbished iPhone 11/12. I will not pay more than a couple hundred bucks for a phone. Spending $1000 is crazy.
Buying a new phone because its new is whack af. My old phone had battery life in the terms of charge in the morning, and in the afternoon it was at 30% by laying on the desk and occasionally scrolling some app on the toilet. I thought, if im getting a new phone anyways, i may waste my money on the iPhone 16. gonna last me a few years i hope.
That's what TSA agents at our airport said when they got the new xbox. It was the same console just with changes in the hardware with features removed that they miss using.
I have a friend who buys every new IPhone and then complains that he doesn't have enough savings and such. And it's hopeless to tell him to stop buying stuff he really doesn't need 😅 He would rather buy phones, cars and expensive stuff ( not going to talk about his pc) than save up to buy himself a home. I'm 23 and bought a condo this year with my husband and have our car paid off.
@@tttempertantrumsss he has said that he would like to buy a home but still isn't cutting down on his spending. He thinks that the newer things he has the better he looks to people.
I think it’s more fun to wait longer on a new phone anyway because then you actually feel like you upgraded imo. There’s not a enough of a difference in the models year to year but 5 years from now going from that 13 to the 21 is gonna be NICEEEEEE!!!
I still have my iphone 12 and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. Too many people confuse their wants with their needs. You don't NEED an iphone 16, you WANT an iphone 16 because you want to keep up with the current trends. Some people try to justify it by saying that it helps their mental health, but I'm sorry, if your mental health is reliant on getting material goods, you need to delete social media and seek help from a therapist and do some deep self-reflection (I'm not joking).
I say buy what you like as long as you work for it and you're not asking people for money to pay your bills now if someone is neglecting their own bills just to show off. Then that's a problem.
I respect your opinion and can see where you're coming from. But I think a lot of people forget about the future when they consider if they can afford something I think they just think do they have the money right now for the item and then later end up needing that same money for something else.
People are grown, no argument there. But I wasted many years just surviving. I want to thrive. Everyone needs an emergency fund. Companies are laying people off left and right.
Me sat here with my perfectly functional iPhone 13 Pro having owned it outright for 2 years now & it is still worth £480!! I have a red phone right now, because I bought a red silicone cover to go over my BLUE iPhone pro colour. I really wanted the Sunshine ☀️yellow 15 last year but it was only on the basic phone & its operating system wasn’t different enough to warrant it. Now I use my phone for work & personal - I run a virtual line in the same handset. I use it FOR WORK TOO! I have compared the 16 basic to my 13 Pro & yes, there are a number of differences that means it is an “upgrade”, but right now a cute pink phone is simply not justifiable. Now if an android company found a widget to make their handsets function like an iphone & have access to my iCloud then I would consider switching, but as long as you have apple vs android you are stuck until you bite the bullet & lose the functionality either way.
The thing is, you can't even tell people you should wait to buy something because people thing your hating. Sometimes, you have to let people make mistakes and hopefully they learn and grow from the mistake by acting responsible.
I had an iPhone 7 Plus up until 2022 when it finally took a crap on me. I now have the 13 and plan on doing the same thing with it. As long as it calls, text, and takes good pictures, I don’t need the newest model.
Me Too 7 Plus Up Until 2021 Just Because i Left it By Mistake On The Bus Seat Trying Not To Miss My Stop To Take My Yorkie To The Vet. But it Was Working Fine No Cracks Dents Glitches Nothing i Always Take Care Of All My Phones Because They Are Not Cheap. Then i Got A 13 in 2021 Till Now Samething i Try Not To Drop it. Wet it. No Cracks. No Dents. People made fun of me at work for holding on to my Galaxy S7 for so long that the screen was literally dying. I went from a Galaxy S7 to Galaxy S22. It worked just fine for the 5 years I had it.
I had a preowned Galaxy S7 for so long and honestly I loved it! I "upgraded" to the S21 and realized I liked my S7 way better and it still worked just fine, a bit slow, but was still great! I ended up switching to the Flip 4 because the S21 I got had just so many issues that it had to get rid of it...and it was new :( . Now I have my flip 4 and it feels like having the S7 all over again, but with something I always wanted, being a flip phone. I am keeping it till it starts smoking because I love this phone and it is still going strong 3 years in.
Same. When it kept flashing and shutting down, I went from the Galaxy S7 to the S20, which I'm still planning on using for a long time. I miss my S7 though. It was the perfect size and weight.
My old phone I had for 5 years and still even use it sometimes. I upgraded early this year to my first iPhone ever after wanting one for years and I can definitely say that I will only be upgrading in a couple of years. No need to upgrade because of a new button or colour that will be covered by a case.
Friend of mine broke as a joke, massive student loan debt and CC debt and loans up to to her eyeballs just bought her and a family member the newest iPhone. Not too mention her constant trips, shopping sprees, etc. SMH
@@SouthmeriKan She's broke, its a vicious cycle with her credit cards. No savings whatsoever, just pay on cards then spend, pay some more and then spend that too. Was just talking about a month ago about declaring bankruptcy AGAIN, smh.
I use my phones until they fall apart and get bricked. I usually also keep the older malfunctioning phone as an emergency backup. I used to buy my brother's old phones from him at a huge discount. It's plain crazy to keep upgrading phones and then go into debt for it!
Same. And when i get a new phone the old one gets upgraded to a work phone, and i try to use the new one as little as possible so it last me longer. Cant imagine dropping a few grand on a new phone just because 😭🙄
I got an iPhone 15 last year, upgrading after years of using a Moto G Power. It’s still a beautiful new phone, absolutely no desire to get the 16. Just bought a wrap sticker to make it purple.
I am so tired of toxic positivity. I work in a field where they encourage only positive things. Concerns are called negative. The truth is labeled as being mean. I’m not saying you should just go around insulting people, but telling people the truth about things in order for them to change an aspect of themselves that might bring them harm later on or prepare them for some harsh realities is not bullying. So glad to see society is slowly coming back to some accountability and honesty. Keep speaking the truth. We need to hear it.
I think in the end that is the choice of the people itself what they end up doing. As long as they are adults nobody has the right to just tell them what they should do. That is on them. If it end up hurting them, then so be it. They will learn from that and if not then they dont 😂 its called self responsibility
I got told I was being negative when I heard a nurse tell me that she was going to quit working just to get tax payers money only because I disagreed with it and the other time I was called negative is when this lady was trying to drive around on a shredded tire because I told her an air pump was not going to fix this and that she required an air wrench to get the thing off simply due to her not wanting to be charged by a mechanic where she even went around asking for electric drills after the tire iron broke on the thing.
I feel like some people buy the newest iPhones for external gratification but really no one cares that you got the newest apple product. $1200 for a phone you didn’t need, you should put that money in a high yield savings account n watch it grow. Instead you maintain loyalty to a corporation that doesn’t care about you and your finances.
finallly someone with my mindset! andddd not to mention they tweak little features hear and there and say its the latest and best outthere..... they say the new phone is the best evry year, but only tweak a smidge enough to make it "better". but yall still be paying for basically the same previous phone
I don't buy iPhone's in general, but I will hold onto my phone until it's last dying breath before I get a new one. This flippancy with technology (despite the HUGE prices) is crazy to me.
I have a PAID for iPhone 13 and a 2017 PAID for Mitsubishi Mirage that I will keep until I absolutely need to get a new one. Use it until it dies is my motto😊.
I'll never understand the need to keep up, it's exhausting! Since I started working and making my own money, I've only bought new phones thrice and only everytime when the last one broke down
Exactly!! I buy a new phone every 10+ years when the current one stops working. This year I bought a Samsung A54 because my Samsung S6 stopped working....in case you don't know...Samsung is on the S23 right now 😂. Every laughed at me when I would pull out my S6 at the time, but I didn't care.
I only change phones when the battery starts dying and can’t get me through one day of normal use. But, I’m an Android girl and I always go for the cheapest options - although I have to say, upgrading to a phone that has a chip inside for transport cards etc. (in my country we mostly commute and we need a specific brand) was game changing and I don’t think I can go back to cheaper phones without it😂
i'm nigerian, i still use my iphone 6s plus, in a silicone phone case...still new...64gb...i will be buying the 12pro max next month cuz my beloved iphone 6 is no longer capable of being supported by alot of apps...
Good. I still have my 12 Pro Max (gets stuck sometimes, etc.). Someone can still have debt and pay in full for their phone (can’t pay cash online though)..
I just recently bought a refurbished iPhone 13. My husband and I have a paid off house, a paid off car, and fully funded retirement in our thirties. That isn’t a coincidence, there is a direct correlation between those things.
I actually did buy the newest IPhone and am upgrading from an XR. My XR does work perfectly fine, but i decided that I finally wanted something newer. I take really good care of my phones so I expect to keep this newest phone for the next 6 years as well. Even so.. I myself still feel bad about getting the newest phone, just because of people who buy it every year, and me.. not wanting to be associated with them.
Literally same. iPhone XR is on its last legs I'm sure the battery won't last much longer after this last update. 😢 I'm only upgrading because I have too atp
@@chakrakhan8624 My phone is still on iOS 16 bc I don't have storage, but yes only getting a new one bc I have to 😭 (I won't be buying another iPhone though)
Even if you are not broke, the difference between an iPhone and a cheaper phone is 2×-3× more expensive. Also if you are using a payment plan, you have debt.
The funny thing is that people might tell you that you can use an iPhone longer because of support with updates. And then buy one each year because the resell value is higher 😂
I mean the payment plan is really only debt if you don’t pay it off, if anything I consider it more of a subscription and the included trade in value is a nice offer because really don’t need my old phone when I upgrade but the rest is true. Money isn’t even the factor it’s just that iPhones aren’t even worth it anymore. It’s the same old garbage every year.
@@two_another I mean I can see how you could conflate the two. However if you look at it from an accounting pov, you are taking cash from T-mobile to buy an asset and thus would be a loan (recorded on t-mobiles books as a receivable and ours as a payable). A subscription is like saying hey I have a bunch of boats I am not using... for a certain money you can use my boats for a time period. So thus the subscription actually is a main part of the business entity and operations, it isn't selling anything besides a service to use their assets. So by being able to keep your phone it is a loan.
@@two_another hahaha you mean it is debt until you pay it off, and then you own a phone. Thus, not a subscription. The end of a subscription does not lead to the owning of an asset. That being said debt in most cases is better than subscriptions. Like it is better to have a mortgage then to rent... in most cases.
I destroyed my 11 pro max on accident last year. I bought an 14 pro max for 650$ because the 15 pro max was a bad financial decision which I couldn’t justify for myself. You buy the phone and 1 year later it has 50% of its original price. 650$ to have the newest iPhone for 1 year? Nah I’m out 💀
I could buy the 16 but my 13 still works perfectly fine. I save money by waiting and when I finally do upgrade it’s a ton of new features instead of 1-3. Win win haha
Me too! I keep my iPhones for 6-7 years on average. And I save for it so I buy it cash. I bought my 13 7 months after release. I guess my next is iPhone 19 or 20 😂
This is the video that changed my whole perspective. It definitely got home and hit me for a loop. I literally have a bunch of phones on my bill and since seeing this 2 weeks ago I've managed to begin saving for an emergency, I had a pre order for the new iPhone but canceled it for real, paid one of the things off that'll save me 100 a month. I have watched this a few times to reinforce the message.
I was an Android user for years. Always bouncing between latest models from Samsung, HTC, Google, etc. I finally just got an iPhone 11. It works fine and I haven't seen anything else from Apple that would considerably improve my user experience. Each release actually takes away features, so why people paying for that?
Thank you, I stopped with the IPhone 13. And it still works perfectly fine, I really don’t understand why people feel the need to upgrade every year. Nobody cares what you have in your pocket.

I ran my iPhone 5 for about ten years and a battery swap later until it could no longer run modern apps. It was the last 32-bit iPhone so the OS and nearly all apps can no longer update. You can't even log into google on it anymore. The nail in the coffin was being told by verizon that at end of that year I couldn't receive calls anymore since 3G was being disabled permanently. Got the 2nd gen SE as a replacement. Very satisfied
i have the XR and it’s slowly dying on me so i am planning on getting the 16 (pro max lol) because i always keep my phones for years. and i’m working extra shifts to buy it outright

i had a 6s, and then in 2020 upgraded to the 11, and then this year upgraded to the 15 plus. I needed them for creating content, and my 11 was busted as hell. You dont need to upgrade every year! I wasn't big on iPhones but I did use to get a new phone every year but the phones were 200 or I could sign a new contract and get it for free. Today these phones are too expensive. Plus for most the newest features doesn't really apply to them. I told my daughter just buy a Bluetooth headphones. Apple ear buds are crazy expensive and she has had to replaced them twice
As someone who worked in the QA side of that company, watching people buying a brand new iPhone every year just makes me laugh. It's dumb. You can keep a phone for 2-5 years. The updates will still work for the most part generally. The most important thing are those software updates, etc. The hardware can wait a bit. This same thing can be applied on Samsung phones, etc. No need to get a new Galaxy S every single year.
To the woman who talked about the available colours of the iPhone: Isn't that the perfect excuse to skip this iteration? And until Apple offers the colour you'd like, get a case for the current phone in that colour? 💡
This is one of my close friends. Always complaining she can't buy or rent property, yet she always has the most expensive phone and takes holidays 4 times a year 🤣.
It happens every year. I owned a iPhone 6S for almost 8 years and I only changed to an iPhone SE 3 last year. I pretty much ran the iPhone 6S to the ground. I treat phones like every other purchase I make. I use it until it's broken or it's an interim alternative until I can get something better. I believe in practicality, not the flair
I live in Brazil and I am one of a kind that don't own an Iphone. It blows my mind because I see people who get a minimum wage walking around with Iphones and I make a lot more than this and I don't think I should buy an Iphone cause it it so expensive here because of dollar. It is bizarre how much people are willing to pay compared to what they earn.
I love how you slowly got louder throughout the video 🤣🤣 a real one for making this video I get lucky with carrier upgrades and don't pay for phones but I like going on Amazon wayyy too much and definitely needed to hear this 🤦🏽♂️😭

same. 13 mini is perfect. edit: battery isn't bad as people say! it gets you through the day. & replacing the battery when the battery health gets relatively lower is gonna do the job.
My Samsung is close to 4 years old I got the battery changed last year from official Samsung service center Formatted the phone and it works like charm
I know so many people who get new phones on contract, complain about having no money, and when it’s suggested that they return the phone as part of early-exiting the contract and using any of the *three fully functional phones they already have* from previous contracts - no, that is completely off the table.
It’s crazy to me that the iPhone 13 is “old.” I have an iPhone 12 mini I bought with a big bonus three years ago. THREE. I have dropped this thing probably a hundred times and there is nothing wrong with it. No cracks, no slowdown, chugging along just fine. And yeah, I still haven’t figured out all the features 🤣🤣🤣
Same I also use the 12 mini but I still use my first gen SE for work. tbh, aside from the better camera (night mode), everything that my newer phone can also be done on the SE. The 5G speeds are even not jaw dropping compared to 4G. Also I agree with you and the woman who made this video, I didn't use a lot of the features and even turned siri off lol.
8:56 lmao at them saying having an iPhone 13 in 2024 is crazy. I literally just bought an iphone 13 mini right here in 2024 because it was a good price and perfectly fine
Thank you so much. I appreciate the love! To be totally honest my aesthetician and (a few visits with my dermatologist) that I started seeing early this year, has helped me so much with my skin. I only get the products that are prescribed to me or that are recommended to me. I used to struggle a lot with my skin. I still do have issues that I am working through, but my skin has had a night and day difference since I started seeing my aesthetician. The products she gives me, I believe, must come from an aesthetician or someone licensed from what I understand. ❤️
Bought myself the iPhone 13 in my sophomore year of high school (I’m in college now) and payed out of pocket, I’m keeping this shit till it crashes out.
I work at T-mobile, and you wont believe the amount of people that come in and cant afford iphone. The people that can really afford the iphone are the ones that buy the phone at full price with tax and activation. Not financing, not leasing.
@@lightoftheworld417Right?? Dood over here making ill-informed assumptions. just because he/she works at T-mobile. I’m not saying there aren’t a lot financially irresponsible people out there, cause for sure there are! But being a T-Mobile employee doesn’t mean you know people’s financials. Even people with money may not wanna pay full price. Dropping 1000+ bucks on a phone is a lot for most of us.
The problem is, in this day and age, a phone is a necessity. Almost everything is digital now, banking, the way we pay, the way we communicate and even the way we work. So even if someone can't afford a phone, they may need one. It's just that some people aren't very responsible and buy more expensive models when they could save money buying a cheaper/older model, or even a refurbished phone. They give into the societel pressure of "must having" the newest thing.
I still the iPhone 12 Pro and it works great. Just change the battery and good as new. If it’s not broke why waste money? Use it for something that you actually need or invest.
I'm not getting the new iPhone because I bought a phone 3 years ago and it still works fine. Don't replace it until it NEEDS replacing.

U do buy paying their subscriptions on the iphone
pep get foolish over iphone and android mf its a phone that i paid for ion care what yall buy what makes you happy
They even told her that it ran 3d games where I was like since when?

yeah a lot of the people complaining about economy also have like super nice cars they aint driving no 2010 toyota camry, they sporting the audi or bmw or mercedes like bro you aint broke you just bad at making decisions, then they retort with "well i just need something nice for me" then go get a pedicure not a 70k dollar car you gonna sit in for max 2 hours a day.

Upgrading for free through phone carrier is worth it for me personally
It’s all about the use.

I wish all schools had something like that. Especially how to do taxes.
I wish I had that 😭
You're old?😅 was in school in 2003? You're a baby

But it Was Working Fine No Cracks Dents Glitches Nothing i Always Take Care Of All My Phones Because They Are Not Cheap. Then i Got A 13 in 2021 Till Now Samething i Try Not To Drop it. Wet it. No Cracks. No Dents. Always Have A No Scratch Screen Protector On Never Upgrade it & A Not Cracked Phone Case. is All About Taking Good Care Of Things So it Will Last & That Way You Will Never Feel Broke Cus You Been Saving $ For Yrs :)

People made fun of me at work for holding on to my Galaxy S7 for so long that the screen was literally dying. I went from a Galaxy S7 to Galaxy S22. It worked just fine for the 5 years I had it.
I’m literally watching this video and typing on my S7. If it ain’t broke,I ain’t fixing it.😂
I had a preowned Galaxy S7 for so long and honestly I loved it!
It was the perfect size and weight.
lol I hate that phone so much now I used it till it died. That shit was slow af
Me on my a15, man I don't care if iphone has eye tracker 😂

Cant imagine dropping a few grand on a new phone just because 😭🙄
If you need a new phone it’s better to get one that’s 2 versions back. The difference is usually the camera is better.
@@Jimfundercover2 yep this is how to buy most technology but ESPECIALLY phones. buying tech on release is always a waste of money
I rather be rude than a fking liar

I think in the end that is the choice of the people itself what they end up doing. As long as they are adults nobody has the right to just tell them what they should do. That is on them. If it end up hurting them, then so be it. They will learn from that and if not then they dont 😂 its called self responsibility
Come to France bro, we are never positiv 😂
Or pay for a new set of skills and expand your side hustle game!
Why watch money Grown we you can watch this video in HRD 8k on that new phone
finallly someone with my mindset! andddd not to mention they tweak little features hear and there and say its the latest and best outthere..... they say the new phone is the best evry year, but only tweak a smidge enough to make it "better". but yall still be paying for basically the same previous phone
I’ve had my iPhone (a 12) for three years 🥰 works fine, in good condition
I'll never understand the need to keep up, it's exhausting! Since I started working and making my own money, I've only bought new phones thrice and only everytime when the last one broke down
Smart phones got perfected in like 2017. There's literally NO reason to get a new phone until your current one stops working.
What does Apple promote on their iPhones? The camera. New emoji’s. New case colors.
Exactly!! I buy a new phone every 10+ years when the current one stops working. This year I bought a Samsung A54 because my Samsung S6 stopped working....in case you don't know...Samsung is on the S23 right now 😂. Every laughed at me when I would pull out my S6 at the time, but I didn't care.
Only reason I've bought a new phone since the one I got 4 years ago is because it was stolen on the train 😅
I only change phones when the battery starts dying and can’t get me through one day of normal use. But, I’m an Android girl and I always go for the cheapest options - although I have to say, upgrading to a phone that has a chip inside for transport cards etc. (in my country we mostly commute and we need a specific brand) was game changing and I don’t think I can go back to cheaper phones without it😂
If anything, with the loss of audio ports and expandable memory, smartphones have declined.
i'm nigerian, i still use my iphone 6s plus, in a silicone phone case...still new...64gb...i will be buying the 12pro max next month cuz my beloved iphone 6 is no longer capable of being supported by alot of apps...
I had the same iPhone for 4 years. I had no shame in my game. When I was ready to upgrade(my phone broke) I was debt free and paid cash for it!
Wise decision!
Lol
That's hot. Congratulations
What do y'all do for money?

Way to go, Kelly!
I still have my XR too but it is time for a new phone unfortunately 😭 I hate spending money
@@jochenkraus7016your apple garbage mindset is hilarious you are poor we know
I mean the payment plan is really only debt if you don’t pay it off, if anything I consider it more of a subscription and the included trade in value is a nice offer because really don’t need my old phone when I upgrade but the rest is true.
I have an iPhone XR and I’m so ready to get the 15. It takes a while for the iPhones to feel upgrade worthy.
I had the iPhone XR too was going bad. I did upgrade to the iPhone 16 . I do used the phone for selling and buying stocks is more a tool to me

I went from the iPhone 11 to the 15 Pro Max 1T and it was around $1300. I’m not paying that every year, that’s insane.
I’m good.
But you could sell it for half off in 2 years and get the next one for half off.
Nah I’m out 💀
Same here!!!!!!!!

I’ve only had two phones: the iPhone 5 (which lasted 5 years) and the iPhone XR ( which has been working for the past 6 years)
I’ll get a new one when it’s not operating properly 😅
I ran my iPhone 5 for about ten years and a battery swap later until it could no longer run modern apps. It was the last 32-bit iPhone so the OS and nearly all apps can no longer update. You can't even log into google on it anymore. The nail in the coffin was being told by verizon that at end of that year I couldn't receive calls anymore since 3G was being disabled permanently. Got the 2nd gen SE as a replacement. Very satisfied
Next year you’ll need to get a new phone though, you won’t get security updates.

I work at T-mobile, and you wont believe the amount of people that come in and cant afford iphone. The people that can really afford the iphone are the ones that buy the phone at full price with tax and activation. Not financing, not leasing.
Is that a really fair judgement though?
