*Love the **Latest.Bike** it's getting warmer here in Minnesota. So I can't go to fast with it yet but once it does I will use it more often and save on gas to work.*
Trials seems like a great proving ground as the challenge requires things to be super durable while also remaining lightweight. As a kid, we had the TY80, then TY175, then TY350. Now they have the TY-E :)
Will enable better relations with neighbours.... ultimately opening up more spaces to ride !
The more youngsters that ride ... the better!

ABSOGODAMNLUTLY!!!
fukthegoog. Are you confusing trail bikes and trials bikes? Either way, electric has far to go yet, because being stranded far from an electrical outlet is ‘the end’. And please don’t tell me to get a petrol-driven generator to charge the thing!
@@leslieaustin151 i think you could find an outlet before you find a gas station
"Fukthewhatever"......I'm sorry you struggle to keep up with technology. I have three friends with Tesla cars (two S and and one X ) all can do 300 miles between charges. If you can't grasp that technology and the range of EV's are changing so fast it's your problem ....these advances will come to the bike world too.
Max Flight. Oh come on, that’s a bit aggressive.. Well, Tesla’s can, because they have a large (American!) platform to carry the batteries, but my mate’s Leaf (much more practically sized car for most users) only has a practical range of 80 miles, and that makes it tough if you have to queue for an electrical charger on the motorway (doubles your charge time as you wait), so electricity is not all the way yet. Nice vehicles, but in a motorcycle trial your only normal option would be either a petrol generator or multiple expensive batteries to swap for a refuel.
And Tesla is hastening on the day when no one has to drive, the car will do it for you (boring?), though one came close to running me off the road twice recently when (presumably) the driver was allowing the car to do the job she should have been doing. E-power is coming in lots of areas, but no one has completely cracked it in any of them yet, from vacuum cleaners to aircraft (except models). The batteries are the sticking point. Les
First hydraulic clutch for Yamaha...in a e-bike ...
Nose q abla pero aulobios
I must say that looks more fun than my E-bike!
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
they say about charging the bike every 3rd try/go etc but how many times would stop a fill up the fuel tank after a run on an ICE bike?
What is the time difference on a circuit between electrics and a " normal" gas motor ?
That was my biggest fear, having no clutch. How do you convert full rev instant power on an electrical bike with no clutch????
Yamaha are no strangers to loooove
They know the rules - and SO do IIIIIIiiiiiii
Electric motors can produce their maximum torque at one rpm, The key to electric is the programming. Get Tony Bou and Adam Raga to coach the code writers. Then we'll see some s&^t.
Hurry up and sort the battery life. I want buy now.
Top speed??????
I am never first but today....
Just one question about these electric bikes and cars ! Where are they going to dump all the batteries when they are finished ?? I think I'll stick to fossil fuel for now ! 😀
God I bet electric bikes are fun with a clutch.
They do have a clutch !!!!
definitely the way forward specially with having a clutch...
Paul Malyjurek yup, the clutch is the insurance policy for wiskey throttle!
from a none bike rider, why have a clutch and could software take the place of a clutch?
I want a clutch for those moments you get out of control, like you get bucked off the seat and you're now in mid-air, holding on just by the bars. If you land like that, you're likely to give the throttle a good pull, making an out of control situation, way worse.
When I'm losing control like that, I pull in the clutch and wait. No matter what my throttle hand accidentally does, with the clutch in, I don't go shooting ahead, all out of control. I coast. Then I can try to get control back.
A good question @QALibrary , as a life long biker with over 40 years of riding, there are certain situations that a rider users the clutch as "security aid", and after years of being a biker the clutch is intuitive, although moving from a geared car to a fully automatic car may be a simple transition when you are biking, and more so off road there are certain situations where it's instinctive to use the clutch.
I believe trial rider want the ability to pop the clutch .. go from zero state of power to back wheel to instant, high end power? Any engine, gas or electric would not give you "on switch" instant mid-range power, for example, without a clutch.
You know eventually you'll be able to go on with a laptop or app of some sort and customize the power controller for each track, or even load different previously created power profiles on the fly.
That's the thing. Electric bikes are fine but I would want a clutch regardless.
We need one of these that's street legal, an electric dual-sport with the Yamaha name. I'm in!!!!
Very nice. I would like to see a hybrid sportsbike that can capture engine braking and braking energy and release it when the rider wants more power. Similar to f1 and WEC systems. No charging batteries.
I'll take one please!!
70kg? My fucking bycicle weights more..
Wow 154 lbs...
Please get a journalist to do this kind of review who understands the difference between ‘power’ and ‘torque’.
Dr James Crabapple. Yup, anywhere with any vehicle you need both to move, but “power” is not “torque”, and torque is not power. Les
Unless the audience understands the differences its irrelevant.
If the audience does understand the difference they don't need the reviewer to,
Even though i;m a die-hard 2smoke rider I think THIS IS THE WAY TO GO, They HAVE incorporated Electronics to STOP THAT WHEEL SPINNING UP [Built in Traction Control AND a Map switch from say a 125cc/200cc/ALL the way To 300cc. The ONLY Problem we all know about is Battery LIFE, BUT WAIT until THEY start using Graphene [It stores 100% Of the energy BETTER that Li-ion] Check out Graphene Batteries.
How much & how long is the run time? A useless report with ut these details
The video and the text article that's linked says it's a prototype, so no price is listed yet. Both sources also say about 30 minute run time. But since it's a prototype that is likely to change, if it's ever brought to market.
30 minutes ?! The Oset video I watched was 6 hours +
Electric ⚡️ is the way forward 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes . Yamaha added a Clutch . I'm thinking this can actually save some battery
Electric vehicles are the future, full stop. Lithium is the new black gold..
Lithium batteries are CRAP - more efficient battery technology is very near and will soon make lithium batteries obsolete (and an environmental hazard)..
For this application (trials), enduro or road / track racing, perhaps because the distance is limited. For general riding, not so much since the range is limited and recharging takes far too long and inconvenient. The internal combustion engine remains a marvel of efficiency for transportation and doing other work (chainsaw, trimmer, etc.).
Range will always be the achilles heel of electric vehicles.
Battery driven vehicles were invented before the internal combustion engine but "range" issues killed them off it will be the same when the delusion of man made climate catastrophe dies away and people realise there really was nothing much wrong with the tried and tested gas powered infrastructure.
Interesting toys though.
What is the name of this engine and how big it is, please reply
Batteries again. What people fail to realise is where the electricity comes from for battery vehicles. Personally I know we're going all electric eventually but I know for fact that with current (dad joke!) batteries there will be little improvement on range. We need a revolution in terms of battery efficiency - don't mention graphene or nano tubes. Pointless and not an argument here.
With electric vehicles I believe the world will need to change to adapt to battery capacity and not batteries. It just can't be done.
They wanna take the fun out of every damn thing
Make a supermoto Yamaha and bring it to market. This is so close. Do it!
There's at least one electric supermoto already
Yeah, I'm aware. There's the Zero FXS and the Alta SM.
Zeros are okay, but I'm a little wary of reliability and dealer support, plus I'm not crazy about the styling.
Altas are about ~4k more than a similar battery capacity Zero (though I'm sure the components are better).
The sweet spot, for me at least, hasn't been yet hit. Also, competition is good.
Its at sale?? Past 2 years yet....
Cool bananas! Several decades back there was an electric trials machine set up at The Bike Show at Earls Court in London. It just had a small car battery and starter motor driving it and wasn't fast. It was just enough to get around the mini trials section they had made and was a bit of fun. But I queued an hour to have a go. Didn't complete the course without a dab though. :¬)
Alta should take note of the clutch!
This will be so perfect for practicing in the backyard while not ruining relationships with the neighbours! Clutch 👌🏼
Cool bike. Detestable sound.
Very interesting but despite noting that running time was one of the most important issues we still do not know how long the battery lasted or how long to recharge.
Your voice is so interesting you should be contacted by Pixar.. I really want to investigate how the voice can be the same and so interesting for such a long time..
Yes please! The right way forward! You will get more riders if it feels and can be operated like a combustion engine bike. No need for gears though with the electric motor.
weight is a crucial thing, so let's make a minimum weight for a class. dumb.
I love how in racing they always say this bike or this car won...but "it" didnt..the rider/driver did.
They need to let them run with the gas bikes. Same with motocross.
Maybe Yamaha can get Debbie Evans Leavitt to come out of retirement!
With the clutch I plan to pre order if offered in the US.
I’d be interested to know if traction is compromised as a result of the constant delivery of power. The natural pulse delivery of power as a result of the 4 stroke cycle enables greater traction than continuous power delivery (like ABS in reverse). So I wonder if Yamaha have addressed this, or whether it’s even necessary to do so in this discipline. I would assume so for this, and for motocross too.
I would think that with an electric bike the power AMPs? can be applied very, very linearly, straight line, controllable power? And wouldn't a computer be able to adjust this power exactly how you want? Maybe there could be dynamic control of how the power is applied! Cool stuff.
it's great is does have a clutch. Would buy one.
Where do you buy one?
That things as heavy as me n I'm small!!! How I get 1?
Can't beat a petrol engine, the sound the smell.
Like a Brammo Impulse R. Clutch is awesome
You will be mine.
Oh yes.
You will be mine.
good jop
Sign me up! I'm in many ty's ridden this is where its at
Is this faster than the Oset 24??
Other than range, they nailed it.
Sounds like a RC car 😆
Very informative, great video 👍
If brought to the North American market, this would allow trials riders access to MTB areas in the US,. HUGE deal!!!
Would it? Most of the bike trails I've seen say "no motorized vehicles," and this definitely has a motor. Not that it would stop some people :p.
Electric bicycles are not allowed on our trail systems in Bend Oregon.
You're the reason North American Mtb culture has so much disdain for the e-mtbs and the reckless push by the industry to cash grab a new market regardless of the outcome. Would you really want a throttle actuated high torque machine chewing up your hand built trails? How about quads/utvs taking over moto trails? Instead maybe build/advocate for more trials trails in your own backyard guy.
kapan di rilis di indonesia
How fast?
But does it still smell like a 2 stroke?
If not you can keep it.
MegaGouch Nothing smells better than Cstrol R40 Race oil
Partner up with yamaha to offer in-helmet two stroke flavored air fresheners
Very impressive
about time yamaha now get some of those music guys in to tune the sound of motor
It'll be interesting to compare the actual sounds to see whether or not it is truly more neighbor friendly. The current 2 stroke trials bikes are actually pretty quiet except at full song heading up a big hill/boulder. In my backyard I don't actually know if the electric bike is going to be less bothersome than a 2 stroke. Forget about 4 strokes, they are actually more noisy to my ear.
fprintf
How could this be louder?
Go chage your bike for a few hours while I drop some fuel in and get out riding in 5 minutes.
Electric might have a future with easily replaceable battery packs. Can you say Makita? Electric cars don't really have a problem, and usually don't need to be charged every day.But everyone who uses battery powered tools for work knows that you need extra batteries if you don't want to be left hanging waiting for a charge.
An electric bike needs no clutch. Period
How do you go from ZERO to the wheels to 75% power to the wheels, instantly?
booooo
You do for trials. period.
No, no, no. Bikes go vroom, vroom.
Terry,I agree, but when I watched a 50 yo guy do a 90 ft tabletop on an ALTA ,It was very bad ass,and also very quiet.
And I own a Zero DSR. ❤it!
I also own an Aprilia RSV4 RF
and I love it too. My electric
bike is very impressive. But this
Yamaha is wicked in its own way.
@@one-of-us9939 im jealous, electric is the future be safe have fun my friend
As long as it's fun to ride ,I don't care
The electric motorbike was patented in 1895
wonder what it SOUNDS like
At 0:53 second you can hear it.
