12:48 I think this is a general misunderstanding by KarQ. It is not necessarily about timing, but rather about trying to force an opportunity through too hard of a commitment. It is very often in mid-lower ranks that both teams are actively engaging, like in a choke or somewhat straightlined space, and a dps goes on an off angle and draws a lot of attention on them. You see the tank and a dps, maybe even a support literally turning around from the main battle, walking their ass halfway across the map, fight that solo person, and during all that the solo person's team does not move an inch even though the resistance fell dramatically for a significant period of time. Even if there's perhaps just one enemy dps and support left where there used to be 4 enemy players, your team will not realize that 2 of the enemy players walked away, and not realize that they actually CAN afford to easily push in. It's the lack of realization that there is a significant drop in enemy pressure, that is causing the "mistiming". The solution to this, for the person who tries to take the flank and open up space, is to simply don't marry yourself to the play. Don't hard commit. Poke and probe, see the enemy reaction, when they react, see what your team does. If your team does not react to the sudden freed up space, then don't hard commit. Just take it slow, let the enemy push you and rotate accordingly, then when they eventually go back to the main fight, you go back to your angle and shoot again. Rinse and repeat. It may take you 2, 3, 4 attempts before your team realizes they can walk up and start a push. Your goal is not to force them to push immediately the first time you make space for them. Just keep making space while staying safe yourself. Eventually the opening and the timing from you and your team will merge, and that timing is one you have to be patient for. Don't rush it. Don't think you only have one chance. If you truly only have one chance, then you've hard committed way too early.

Regarding the aiming difficulty, I watched another video on this a while ago. Apparently, Overwatch is fairly unique in that changing direction - specifically strafing - doesn't dampen your momentum at all. Most other games do have a slight momentum reset, not to even mention Overwatch's movement abilities on top of that.
For people who play on console and have trouble with their aim, you gonna have to adjust your controller sensitivity because the default settings are really bad. The aim assist drags your aim way to much, it starts way to early and don't let me start with their aim technique setting, definitely change it from dual zone to linear
Dual zone is default and linear is the fastest your sens can get, dual zone has a slower inner dead zone what's horrendous. Try linear with 40+ aim ease in, between 90/97 aim smoothing and you need ofcourse 80+ horizontal and vertical. And linear is supposed to by a linear speed but it isn't
Re: Cheaters & Life. The only thing you can control is yourself. Stop worrying about what everybody else is doing, and be the best you at doing the right thing. You will feel a lot better about everything.
Aim in OW is 80% predicting enemy movement, 20% actual hard mechanical reactionary aim technique. People who struggle consistently with aim (for their rank), are players who are not good enough at predicting what movement they can expect from the enemy hero they're interacting with. That simple. In BF, COD, etc even TF2 to a large degree, every enemy player moves roughly the same way with very few significant outliers. So you get experience very quick and your data to build your predictive skills is consistent across the board. Play vs 100 enemies in Battlefield, and you'll have 100 cases of the same general aim experience. Play vs 100 enemies in Overwatch, and most likely you'll have maybe 10-20 somewhat similar aim experiences, while the other 80-90 are either fairly different or totally different from each other, each requiring their own subset of predictive measures to apply "good aim" successfully.
@@nexor7809 for multiple reasons. First, there is instant acceleration in Overwatch. That means every input translates to an immediate action. This is highly unusual for an fps game, where there's usually movement acceleration when you gradually go from standstill to max velocity in any given direction. This means things like crouch spamming, a-d strafing, etc can be far more unpredictable and thus hard to reactively track. And this only touches on basic movement that normally would be mostly equal among all characters - but then you add individual abilities to the mix. Genji can double jump. Tracer can blink. Soldier can sprint. Hanzo can wall climb. Doom can break the space-time continuum. Suddenly there's a JQ shout or Lucio speed boost that adds a speed amplifier to all existing movements. Then there are overlapping amplifiers like Lucio + JQ or Juno ring. Then there's hitboxes, which are all fully individual. Some are tall, some are short, some have easy-to-hit head hitboxes, others are borderline impossible. Some have a lot of character sway when they strafe, some have none. Essentially meaning any time you encounter an enemy interaction that requires aim -be it flick or track or a combination of both, it's very hard to directly translate it to the next 10 interactions you will come across. Therefore it's hard to build a quantifiable dataset quickly, because most data pulls in different directions constantly due to all the variables stated above. It's why Overwatch is regarded as one of- if not the most mechanically intensive and complex fps game in the world.
For the sombra post, calling it "same but worse" is def a perspective. To me it looks like keeping the idea but balanced from being egregious to fair The early stealth break refund to translocator from a previous vid is an interesting idea to buff it tho.
I watch these video because I enjoy listening to you, KarQ, but I got off Reddit about 5 years ago and I’m never looking bad, that platform is something else.
1:22 This reminded me of when on the same map (Volskaya), Kephrii had a match where he and the enemy team thought his widow was cheating, but it was just Aimbottz and he was just cracked.
For the last question I obviously agree with everything KarQ said. Also Brigitte is terrific against Tracer, just go right at her, you can shield bash, flail and whip shot combo and she'll die. If you get jumped by Reaper he'll also most always use at least on cool down to get behind you teleport typically. You can ship shot him pretty easily then shield bash away from him to create excellent distance. From there I'm usually yelling at my team that there's a Reaper behind them and they can help fight him off. Brigitte is also excellent at keeping your fellow Ana alive . Last thing, learn what it means to "proc inspire" (RUclips it). It's how you get real value from Brigitte.
KarQ. Always love the vids, the vibe and all in general you do. My SO and I have watched you for tips for QUITE some time now, I think YEARS! That being said. You use the "relax, it will be fine in time" reasoning WAY too much. I teach drums as a profession and I find, since student motivation is DIRECTLY correlated with my paycheck, that I really have to avoid just shipping things under that as much as possible. I find that when you tell someone this, while PRESCRIPTIVELY its correct, it doesnt help someone that hasnt proved that out in their own practice and experience yet. Even if they truly trust you, its not the same as knowing for themselves that it WILL be ok in time. This is ESPECIALLY TRUE of students that are younger. I believe we have a lot of relevance and overlap here in our respective areas. You can still say "Hey it will be better in time" but maybe provide a bit more of a timeline of what to expect on that journey so they have things to look for to be able to tell if they are ACTUALLY making progress. This INCREDIBLY effective at maintaining motivation vs. just telling that it will be ok in time. And I get it! Its unsatisfying to hear that! You just might be falling in the trap that MANY if not ALL teachers fall into at times, the trap of being too far away from the beginner experience to REALLY and TRULY be able to empathize with them
I have had a few games with cheaters that our team agreed to sit in spawn to not let the cheater win. To me I dont mind losing SR to punish a cheater ... but I also am not high ranked and dont spend that much time in comp so idk
They combined the wrong 2 skills for sombra, hack should have been added to virus and act as an interrupt. Which would also make hack a skill shot and less dependable. It would keep it's damage and dot and damage boost, but hack would only stop a skill and not lock it out for any amount of time. This would let emp feel more special with the skill lockout. Then stealth and translocator would have space in her kit to be on separate buttons. You can then keep the invis timer and translocator cd as ways to balance her, 7 seconds isn't so bad when they are on different cooldowns.
The 6v6 reason doesn't make sense to me. A single tank that is one tricking and not synergizing with your team would be just as bad if not worse than 2 tanks
Exactly, man I feel like I can't get anyone to hear this -- solo hog when your team has no synergy with him and the enemy team is running full competent dive is usually just as bad and frequently much worse than the same concept expanded to 2 tanks.
I hope they don't "quickplay hacked" the 6v6. Just make it another gamemode like open queue, which is what they should've done since the launch of OW2.
I'm sorry, but the lows of 5v5 are so much fucking worse than 6v6. Gigabuffed tanks that still get shredded instantly. Let's gigabuff them again, surely this will fix things! 6v6s issue is that THEY STOPPED WORKING ON THEIR GAME FOR 3+ YEARS
Hog was playable with Dva and Zarya. Meat grinder grav and you can block nade and sleep and have good shield break. I played that comp plenty of times with my friend and it worked.
that was near the end of ow1 after hog got buffed into oblivion. zar/hog was a meta for ranked ladder that only one team played in OWL, dva/hog was an answer to zar/hog if u can believe it, the idea being exactly this: eat abilities to protect hog, but it was flimsier than zar/hog cuz if the zar gets momentum then the dva cant operate where she needs to. during this meta the ACTUAL pro meta was sig/hog and zombie comp (dive on crack), but sig/hog felt weak to zar cuz of beam dmg, and zombie comp was more practiced in the pro scene. most teams went into the champs that year playing zombie comp cuz they thought no one would commit to hog comps. Lo and behold, washington justice have decay (the best zarya on the planet) and they played it all the way to semis. fun meta, i loved it. there was a short time where not only hog was buffed but genji was also super buffed into SSJ3 genji at the same time, about a month and a half straight of zar/hog/genji/ashe/ana/mercy. we called it GigaHog and Super Saiyan Genji meta. shit was nuts, they should bring it back
I am really hyped to see the new tank combs 🔥🔥 Like imagine Ram mauga 💀 Edit : After reading your replies. Everybody expects Mauga in every comb . And I am scared of it 😭🙏🏻
I'm imagining Junker Queen and Mauga. Shout + Cardiac is a double health buff. Or new Orisa and new Doomfist. Spear throw and punch is a double stun back to back 😭
suggestion: disable roadhog for the 6v6 tests XD fr tho hog needs some kind of rework also the 2-2-2 test needs to go first not the max 3 min 1 test otherwise people might get a bad first impression of 6v6
I think get rid of it and nerf heals between 5 - 15%. The passive isn't really felt other than when it isn't there (AKA I'm swinging as rein on a zen who's being mercy pocketed and unironically can't kill her) I'd rather the dps heroes be buffed more individually if you're going to try to take the route of bringing their power level up to tanks along side nerfing the tank heroes a bit.
as an actual boomer *cough*38*cough*, when I'm missing my shots, I just take a moment, take a breath, then tell myself "Just click on their heads" and then I start clicking heads.
if you have a cheater on your team honestly just report them and take the free win, nothing you can do about it. in the long run we all play with and against cheaters so it evens out. Why do the 5 players on your team deserve to lose more than the 6 on the enemy team? expecting the team with the cheater to throw and lose all the time is just an unnecessary complication. just take the win man. if im in a rank up game and i come against a cheater id be pissed af. if im in the same position but im with a cheater, leading my teammate to throw the game i would also be pissed af.
@13:02 nah that's such a room temperature IQ take, the OP said his team is too timid and won't help push.. so WHEN the fuck are you supposed to? That makes absolutely no sense at all... How long are you supposed to wait for a team that never attempts to make a play or create space? Blaming a player for trying to make a play while his team cowars is actually backwards af
Did you even read the first one? Mf said other team called it out and it looked obvious. You always never believe anyone says in these videos and throw in what you think they're thinking. Clearly the rest of the team just wants a free win or is even partied up
Then again, how can you be 100% sure they’re cheating, unless they are spinbotting? You can’t spectate from their pov mid-game! As KarQ said, you might end up throwing wrongfully, and that should earn you a ban! Play through, check replay, and then eventually report.
Just want to comment that i am you 666th like on this video. Also that weird still shot of you puckering at the end of the video makes you look way too Asian - you are making us ALL look bad that way (hope this makes you laugh)
I don't think Sombra is that bad right now, if course people wanna complain to complain because there's people who don't want things to change in certain ways but I think they are going to build on Sombra from where she is not what she was. Players are to entitled so when there's a character that needs to be changed nobody knows how or what to change and when the change is done it's whining from players
Cant wait for everyone to relive just how dog dookie it is to play into double shield every damn match and to experience hog n ball torture Edit: here are some more painful things thats gonna happen: when you go rein and Ur tank buddy doesn't go zarya When your buddy zarya doesn't save bubbles for you to get to swing When you try to go dive tank but your tank buddy doesn't and so your team lets you dive in solo and die When your team screams for a shield tank all the time, eventually it becomes white noise and you become the one thing you swore to destroy, a hog only tank player Finding zero opportunity to use shatter because enemy team runs double shield and your team doesn't all commit to shield break You hit a fat shatter but their dva just bombs/hog ults and zones your whole team and you get nothing done
If I was working on balance patches I would introduce a passive to exert pressure on double shield comps. Like if a team goes double shield there’s would be a passive that gives either tanks or damage heroes an extra percentage of damage to shield.
the dps output for shield melting in ow2 is way better than it was in ow1, if youre still whining about double shield before 6v6 is even out i think you should move on from ow and find another game. im not saying this to be disrespectful im saying this due to "2 shield bad" being a constant topic being brought up. give it a chance lmao ram just got pierce back and we have bastion mobile turret and mauga as well as junkrat. just give a chance before you bring it up (edited to fix ow2 to ow1)
Orisa sigma was the only bad double shield. Rein can't fight with his shield up Rammatras shield lasts 4 seconds Orisa no longer has a shield Sigmas shield has way less hp Winston bubble usually isn't used to defend the team
the issue with this is that overwatch does ban waves, and it takes a lot of reports to get an account banned purely from reports. taking a loss (or draw where possible) when you have a cheater on your team is good to keep them from gaining sr and climbing
Yeah but it can feel bad to basically win off of an unfair game. I usually just afk if i have a cheater or smurf bc its a waste of effort to play it out. Or i just use it to explore the map.
@josewolf9884 the nerf fortify is actually pretty big, it removes al lot of her offensive power and the spear dmg nerf will make insta kills off walls rarer if not impossible. If Flats was having a happy day because of the change, I can see the nerfs being good enough
@@user-rg9co7dk2r I wouldn't take Flats opinion too highly to be fair, I've seen him for way too long and if anything is clear is that his ego never lets him see the whole picture, just look at the video exposing him and his winrate that another dude made about his claims. Play vs 100 enemies in Overwatch, and most likely you'll have maybe 10-20 somewhat similar aim experiences, while the other 80-90 are either fairly different or totally different from each other, each requiring their own subset of predictive measures to apply "good aim" successfully.
why
Good point, variety of situations coupled with more drastic vertical aim/ movement in ow. Kind of the same thing you said lol
To me it looks like keeping the idea but balanced from being egregious to fair
The early stealth break refund to translocator from a previous vid is an interesting idea to buff it tho.
I watch these video because I enjoy listening to you, KarQ, but I got off Reddit about 5 years ago and I’m never looking bad, that platform is something else.
I find good healers vs flankers in medal ranks are ones like moira, lucio, maybe bap if you're a good enough one, brig can work
1:22 This reminded me of when on the same map (Volskaya), Kephrii had a match where he and the enemy team thought his widow was cheating, but it was just Aimbottz and he was just cracked.
That puppy got you an extra like
I hope they don't "quickplay hacked" the 6v6.
6v6s issue is that THEY STOPPED WORKING ON THEIR GAME FOR 3+ YEARS
Spicy take
Hog was playable with Dva and Zarya.
Lo and behold, washington justice have decay (the best zarya on the planet) and they played it all the way to semis. fun meta, i loved it. there was a short time where not only hog was buffed but genji was also super buffed into SSJ3 genji at the same time, about a month and a half straight of zar/hog/genji/ashe/ana/mercy. we called it GigaHog and Super Saiyan Genji meta. shit was nuts, they should bring it back
@@ILovetheYOUTUBYS Yeah it was a fun shake up for tank players. It also proves new meta are not always predictable
In 6v6 i predict tanks relient on health/shield now is going to have a hard time when they adjust the health/armor between two tanks
9:24 that’s already how overwatch 2 works every game is a chaotic death match with one tank
Rodhog+Orisa sounds like a nightmare
Give orissa her shield and pull back I miss those abilities so much, take away the spin move 😫
How is max 2, min 1 going to work for tank? Will they be nerfed overall when the patch hits?
Probably
Happy Halloween everyone 🎃👻🎃
I am really hyped to see the new tank combs 🔥🔥
Like imagine Ram mauga 💀
Edit :
After reading your replies. Everybody expects Mauga in every comb . And I am scared of it 😭🙏🏻
Double domain expansion on the enemy team would go nuts !
I love to Zarya for Maugas in Open q, even better with Rams punch reverted.
People already combo tanks in open queue tho?
Mauga & Ball. Might as well just drop a nuke on the team 🤣
I'm imagining Junker Queen and Mauga. Shout + Cardiac is a double health buff.
Or new Orisa and new Doomfist. Spear throw and punch is a double stun back to back 😭
the dbd mention is too real, i loop people all the time as juno in overwatch
suggestion: disable roadhog for the 6v6 tests XD fr tho hog needs some kind of rework
also the 2-2-2 test needs to go first not the max 3 min 1 test otherwise people might get a bad first impression of 6v6
The last question was just the guy blaming everyone else
does anyone have the vod of the ow1 match karq talked about with the accused pro player of cheating on widow?
Do you guys think they will get rid of the DPS passive or adjust it, because in a 6 v 6 we gonna have to do alot of heals
I think get rid of it and nerf heals between 5 - 15%.
The passive isn't really felt other than when it isn't there (AKA I'm swinging as rein on a zen who's being mercy pocketed and unironically can't kill her)
I'd rather the dps heroes be buffed more individually if you're going to try to take the route of bringing their power level up to tanks along side nerfing the tank heroes a bit.
Zayra Kiri Ana jq tracer bout to be lit!
I remember the highs of the highs because i had friends aka a tank duo XD
Happy Halloween!
as an actual boomer *cough*38*cough*, when I'm missing my shots, I just take a moment, take a breath, then tell myself "Just click on their heads" and then I start clicking heads.
People still don't know how to play with one tank.....
And still no LFGs.
roadhog DOES synergize with ball and sigma, just not in an easy to understand traditional sense like rein zarya where its obvious.
At some point during OW1 Roadhog and Wrecking Ball had a meta called "Ball and Hog torture"
6v6 is goated even with its flaws the biggest problem was double shield
That wasn't even a problem. We got multiple shield busters with OW2.
The problem was they stopped working on their game for 3+ years.
if you have a cheater on your team honestly just report them and take the free win, nothing you can do about it.
in the long run we all play with and against cheaters so it evens out.
Funny question because I thought it was far more enjoyable to play tank on 6v6
@13:02 nah that's such a room temperature IQ take, the OP said his team is too timid and won't help push.. so WHEN the fuck are you supposed to? That makes absolutely no sense at all... How long are you supposed to wait for a team that never attempts to make a play or create space? Blaming a player for trying to make a play while his team cowars is actually backwards af
Radical
Did you even read the first one? Mf said other team called it out and it looked obvious. You always never believe anyone says in these videos and throw in what you think they're thinking. Clearly the rest of the team just wants a free win or is even partied up
No one is gonna get banned for throwing a game XD
9:18 the same can be said with the support and dps roles.
dead by daylight mentioned lol
Like is Dead by Daylight? I would agree but OW2 dosen't have pallets, lmao.
didn't include "good morning" after ""good evening, afternoon and night", completely broke my immersion, do better karq.
If you throw a game for *no reason* then yeah that's a form of griefing. But throwing because a cheater is on your team is morally correct idc
Then again, how can you be 100% sure they’re cheating, unless they are spinbotting? You can’t spectate from their pov mid-game! As KarQ said, you might end up throwing wrongfully, and that should earn you a ban!
Play through, check replay, and then eventually report.
@masteryeom sure, I'll ammend my comment to include 'in instances where there is high confidence of cheating'
@@masteryeom If you think that's the only way to detect a cheater... Lol.
@@LampDoesVideogame Most importantly - YOU didn’t provide any other way to detect a cheater with 100% security!
So all the laughs are on you!
No way I'm throwing my game because of a cheater that has nothing to do with me
Just want to comment that i am you 666th like on this video.
Questron quite literally quit playing Sombra.
Cant wait for everyone to relive just how dog dookie it is to play into double shield every damn match and to experience hog n ball torture
Edit: here are some more painful things thats gonna happen:
when you go rein and Ur tank buddy doesn't go zarya
When your buddy zarya doesn't save bubbles for you to get to swing
When you try to go dive tank but your tank buddy doesn't and so your team lets you dive in solo and die
When your team screams for a shield tank all the time, eventually it becomes white noise and you become the one thing you swore to destroy, a hog only tank player
Finding zero opportunity to use shatter because enemy team runs double shield and your team doesn't all commit to shield break
You hit a fat shatter but their dva just bombs/hog ults and zones your whole team and you get nothing done
That’s why there’s such a thing as Dive comps and balance patches.
Rein can't fight with his shield up
Rammatras shield lasts 4 seconds
Orisa no longer has a shield
Sigmas shield has way less hp
Winston bubble usually isn't used to defend the team
wth is that first question, just take the win and report the cheater after
If people are consistently screwing over the cheater, it can discourage them from playing with cheats
the issue with this is that overwatch does ban waves, and it takes a lot of reports to get an account banned purely from reports. taking a loss (or draw where possible) when you have a cheater on your team is good to keep them from gaining sr and climbing
Yeah but it can feel bad to basically win off of an unfair game. I usually just afk if i have a cheater or smurf bc its a waste of effort to play it out. Or i just use it to explore the map.
morality
@@RacingSnails64or maybe just getting banned will discourage them...
I hope Mauga Orisa become the predominant pick just to mess with 6v6'ers
Orisa just got nerfed and with another tank's worth of block, Mauga ain't breaking through.
What's the vendetta against 6v6 for?
@user-rg9co7dk2r that nerf little armor swap isn't going to make her less annoying to deal with, i promise you.
@josewolf9884 the nerf fortify is actually pretty big, it removes al lot of her offensive power and the spear dmg nerf will make insta kills off walls rarer if not impossible.
If Flats was having a happy day because of the change, I can see the nerfs being good enough
@@josewolf9884 also currently Orisa has no defensive synergy with her barrier removed, she'll be akin to a poke version of road hog
@@user-rg9co7dk2r I wouldn't take Flats opinion too highly to be fair, I've seen him for way too long and if anything is clear is that his ego never lets him see the whole picture, just look at the video exposing him and his winrate that another dude made about his claims. About the Orisa/Mauga synergies remember that cardiac overdrive gives Orisa overhealth by doing damage and her spin can bail anyone out by pushing them away and eating bullets. Also both Cage Fight and Terra Surge synergize fantastic.
I just want to be able to hack enemies while invisible again. Why take that away when we're invisible for five seconds? 🦾😿
