Even in practice game the decision was not correct and he got out in 60's. Had he got 100 there, India would have played him in first test but due to bad umpiring decision there he didn't get an opportunity.
Very special player which India didn't utilize for past 18 months. Missed WC 2019 then NZ test matches then first test here. Hope India gives him a fair chance till WTC finals at Lord's..

let's discuss. does all these youngsters will have their spot in next playing XI (at least in test)? I doubt! whatever the result will be, Indian seniors were not fit, just look at them and both the team playing on same field with same ball. One has to visit his new born daughter, well it's his personal life and his choice but after this he will come back and will take a place of one of the player who saved india when he was not there. and it's applicable to all those players who thinks that they are permanent! and if this is going to continue why would this youngster show any performance when they knows that no matter how fantastic they will perform they will be replaced by unfit seniors?

200 runs for Shubman Gill in his Debut Test series at an average over 50 - By far the best opener of this series from both sides.
And it's Lyon again! Pant 97 in 3rd test & now Gill 91..
Gill would be disappointed he missed the century. People don't talk about these 91 runs as much as Pant's brilliant 89 towards the end. But Gill was the one who set up this chase. Maybe had he got those 9 extra runs , justice would be served.
But this guy really is a great asset for the Indian team. He needs to fix his fitness issues and boom! I see a glittering career till the mid 2030's.

This innings was a masterclass by Gill on day 5 pitch chasing 300+ to win... And that pull of Starc at 1:38 btwn mid on and midwicket, was something out of this world... He can be a very big thing in few years if selectors and team management handles him well... I just hope he plays WTC final despite low scores in recent series vs Eng.
