Look at the chills erika had. I get goosebumps everytime I see that scene. She was amazing. Her story is very similar to roger howarth who of course played the iconic todd manning. He also did not want to do soaps as a classically trained actor. He was blown out when he was waiting tables or doing theatre that he made 4× the money playing a day player on oltl. So he took the small part of frat boy #1 & the rest is history. The ny soaps really had the best talent bc they were all theatre trained. The work they do many famous guest stars said they never could do on a daily basis. All those lines of dialogue & they pack a tv shows week of rehearsals into a mini movie everyday day after day . I'm glad judith realized she was so wrong to look her nose down at soaps. It won her 2 Emmy's she met her husband their is still best freinds with her onscreen sister to thos day & it propelled her into playing angela on who's the boss. Plus some great tv movies like the ryan white story & my favorite judge on law & order svu. I still think her finest work was on the stand as karen.
Judith Light memorized me back then. holy cow! 1979. I loved this storyline.... And Erika Slezak.. she was just as terrific. I just loved One Life to Live.
God that opening clip gave me (and Erika Slezak) goosebumps. Man, Judith Light can act. If you haven't seen it, she is one of the stars of the movie "Save Me" with Chad Allen and Robert Gant - and she kills it.
What a class act -- a brilliant, kind, humble actor and human being! (Ms. Shepherd, she left OLTL in 1983, and Who's the Boss? ran eight seasons, not five :)
Just love Judith Light. She is such a beautiful human being and an amazing actress! ❤️
Judith Light was THE BEST daytime actress EVER. Not before or after has there been anyone better. EVER!!!

Yeah, but she refused to appear on the final episodes of One Life to Live. Kinda crummy if you ask me.
right.and she joined OLTL in 1977
And she joined One Life To Live in 1977 not 1979
Agreed
I have never seen a soap opera, but can we all agree that clip was not soap opera acting. That was on a whole other level.
There's no such thing as 'soap opera acting'. There is plenty of brilliant acting to be found on a soap opera.
judith light is a great actress.
I love how they had her come out to the iconic Peabo Bryson intro of the 80s.
Love judith light, she is the most beautiful hum a m being and i love her in who's the boss and her tv shows
Agreed
I loved One Life to Live! ❤️
We're Dr. Larry Wolek/Michael Storm???
Coincidentally, 1/13/12 was the last day I watched ABC
she had taken the role over from a couple of other actresses

Too bad she wouldn't make an appearance on OLTL in its final months.
IF U CANT TELL NE TRUTH STAY AWAY FROM ME. GINA REALI.
PRIOR COMMENTS FROM REGINA ANN REALI, JURIS DOCTORATE SINCE JUNE 1983.
You wanna talk chemistry? Viki and Karen! Wow
She left in 1983 not 1982
Technically she left in 1982, but her final shows aired in January 1983.
@@abe_froman8360 really? I didn't know that I was going by what the books say
