The US Extreme Ski Championships are held annually in Crested Butte, Colorado. John Sandy Productions produced the tv show for 17 seasons. This was the event was from 1996, hosted by Budweiser. This event was actually founded by John "Sandy" Santucci, Owner and operations manager of JSP Broadcast, Inc.

Because they started the gay free skiing garbage that's just a bunch of aerial freestyle jumpers but free skiing isn't difficult skiing like this. I did US extreme twice and it was icy, crap visibility, choppy and purely skiing skill
