Man Doey's character hit me in the feels, poor guy was an amalgamation of 3 diferent consciences, the only thing keeping him sane is that all 3 of them had a common goal, to protect their family in safe haven so when the prototype killed the all, he snapped and even as you kill him all he does is apologize. He was a good guy, hoped we could've saved him.
@ravyn2968 Three different ones, Jack the kid at the beginning he was the innocent side of Doey, then Kevin who was the aggressive and angry part he was the one who killed Jakies parents and last was Matthew he was the protective one. When Safe haven blew up all three personalities snapped and Kevin was the one who took control.
those three kids had the best compatibility with each other and balanced each other out well enough, so they we're fused together 😔 (if I recall correctly)

I think Sean is the reason why I like the type of some games I like and stuff (also also why I swear in English, I'm not English). It all started with Happy Wheels, I came across it somehow (maybe because a lot of people was talking about it at the time) and I searched Happy Wheels stuff on RUclips and came across this channel. He's been a huge part of my life and has made my life far happier, he's also why I know of Markiplier and Markiplier is why I know of Bob and Wade (and others). I am very grateful. I must've been around 12-13 when I learnt of this channel, I turn 23 in March. Maybe there's something appealing about Happy Wheels to autistic people? Maybe it's just a coincidence however. I was diagnosed in like Novemember 2023, Sean asked us why we didn't tell him that he was autistic but I didn't even know I was autistic. Anyone else who is autistic and likes Happy Wheels?

Huggy Wuggy is classified as Experiment 1170 who is the faciliy's security guard, CatNap is Experiment 1188, who works Playcare in the last chapter, and Mommy Long Legs is Experiment 1222, being a guide for the children that go through the Game Station in Chapter 2.
To clear up a little confusion Doey is an interesting metaphor of Multiple personality disorder because he is a mixture of three kids in one person, the boy from the start, Mathew the 15 year old who we talk to the most because he’s a leader and the problem child because he’s the one that is doey but violent because he’s slight outbursts and irrational, in the one tape with the parents it’s both Jackie and the problem kid mixing and eventually it’s the child that kills the parents of Jackie and when he realizes he breaks down. The times when doey is rational and critical is when he is Mathew because of the “big brother status” genuinely my favorite character in mascot horror great work on Michele Kovach for bring him to life Hope this cleared up any questions or thoughts
I agree with all of this, but just for future reference, multiple personality disorder has been renamed to dissociative identity disorder, or DID. Not meant as a jab or anything, just a bit of genuine knowledge for future reference.

Looking back at the song used in Doey's commercial, the lyrics stated "Triple kind of friend and Triple type of Fun!". it sounded normal at first, but when you hear it again after knowing what he's been through, it's kinda sad now.
Same with the intro commercial! There's one shot where claymated Doey bounces around the room and hits a picture frame, which then changes it to show three Doey's in the picture; One that's taller than the others and has a big smile, One that's giving the first one an angry side eye, and the last one that also has a big grin. Not only does it foreshadow Doey being made up of multiple kids but also what they were like before getting bigger bodied together!
doey's death really hit me hard this chapter, he's one that I sympathize with, which I didn't expect from this game. I can't wait to see what Chapter 5 has in store.

@@cookiemunster77honestly at that point I think he was just too far gone, I think the death of All the toys in Sanctuary just broke the little sanity he had left. I mean throughout the game we can clearly see that while he’s not insane yet he’s pretty unstable. This was just the straw that broke the camels back.
Here’s a quick recap of the story so far: Playtime Co. is a company created by Elliot Ludwig. This company was known for taking in orphans and giving them a home where they had access to all things necessary for their development. The public didn’t know that in actuality Elliot and Playtime Co. were experimenting on the orphans and turning them into toys (that’s why there are no bodies, but a lot of bloody toy parts all across Playtime Co.). The point of this was for Elliot to try and live forever. The Prototype is believed to be Elliot (theory not proven). And he is collecting all of the dead toys and adding them to himself to become a “god”. The toys worship him because they see him as such. Specifically, when Catnap was a child he was severely sick, The Prototype saved him from his sickness by turning him into a toy, so Catnap was always loyal to The Prototype. We play as an old employee returning to right our wrongs (that’s why most of the characters already know us). There was an event called the “Hour of Joy” where all of the toys retaliated and slaughtered almost all of the employees. Also, sorry it’s so long. 😭 This is the shortest I can make it with explaining the general story. Please lemme know if I missed something, hope this helps! :)

It’s interesting how they give Doey multiple personalities in this game. It gives him a lot of flexibility and his voice actor does such a good job fulfilling all three roles. Little details are super thought out as well. Like the scene after Doey gets hit with the liquid Nitrogen. You can see that Kevin is the one that gets irritated at the trap first, then it’s Jack that begins to cry, and then Matthew is the one who begins to comfort Jack. Doey isn’t referring to himself in that scene, it’s parts of his origin communicating with each other. Same thing when he turns on us after the Safe Haven is destroyed. At first it’s Jack lamenting over his killed friends, before then being taken over by Kevin and becoming aggressive with the player. Matthew tries to intervene and reason with his other two counterparts, but between Jacks mourning and Kevin’s anger, Matthew has no power over them as he once did.

I actually like the direction they took in turning people into mascots contrary to what jack says here.. They made it more horrifying, like the chimera in fullmetal alchemist.
I get how he feels because it feels like a trend. Fnaf the souls are from the kids that were stuffed into suits. Bendy at first they were people fed into the machine, now they aren't, but sorta still are. Each indie copycat souls or people, basically the human consciousness transferred into something else. And for what reason?
to be fair poppy playtime is hands out the best implementation of this kind of idea, it doesn't rely on surrealism and supernatural events but on science that one day could become reality
At this rate im convinced developers only put flashlights in their game so that people watching playthroughs can actually see the game, now all they need to do is make it so that the flashlight turns on and off automatically at certain points in the game. So that we don't have to squint every time creators play a dark game and never use the damn flashlight, like Sean has done countless times before and countless times to come.

1:51:28 “Project: Doey” is to create Doey using three seperate consciousess, I can’t say for certain, but i’m pretty sure Jack (the kid at the very start in the cartoon thing) fell into the dough at the start, which started the whole project, thus him being “Subject A”. To combat his Crybaby-like Personality (“i’m sorry, mommy, i’m sorry”, ectect) they needed to add others to counteract him (Subject B/C) (The “Natural Leader”/The Problem Child). The “Not Good Enough, Not Strong Enough” lines are from whatchamacallit (the Leader one, i forgot his name xD) and the “GENTLE VOICES LIE, THEY LIE, *angry* is from Kevin, the “Problem Child” it’s super deep and dark when you think about it, they did Doey super good though! 🎉
Spoilers, don't read before watching. I'm honestly so glad that Poppy was legitimately a good character the entire time though. I'm happy she wasn't the twist villain everyone expected her to be. (As it seems so far. The next chapter could still add some twist but I honestly hope it doesn't) I'm also kind of glad that Ollie _was_ actually the twist villain and was actually the prototype. It wasn't really surprising though since we never got to see Ollie 'in person' but it works very well! The last chapter should wrap it up perfectly.
I had a feeling that was the case when we first met him since he knew everything that was going on but didn't always say how. Like if he used cameras when some places had no cameras. So happy my gut was right about him. Especially since he knew the factory so well

I'm glad it's more "you and poppy (ft. kissy) vs protoype" rather than "you vs all of playcare." But i think many people only already labeled her as a twist villain when she messed up the train in Chapter 2.

I love how they lit Kissy in blue light in a previous chapter, to make her look like Huggy until she gets close. Then, they did the same thing at the end of this chapter, lighting Huggy in red! Pair that with how the first chapter starts with a tape from Pierre, and this chapter ends with a tape from him? Chefs kiss! I love where this game is going, so excited for chapter 5!

I have a theory of who Riley is. I think Riley is Kissy Missy. She describes that she can't move her fingers, hence the hands of the Kissy Missy doll. She says hair on her shoulders, she says she can't feel it anymore, so maybe the hands don't respond anymore to senses and she sees that she has fur, but can't feel it.
Riley was the purple toy that had the skull and ribcage inside of it, they tried to hide the key where no one would find it, that place being in their stomach. They probably passed due to starvation
Only five minutes in and the graphics look even better. Poppy's face looks more defined than the other chapters (I am in no way an expert in graphic design of videogames, I only have eyes 🤷♀️). Looking forward to the rest of this video!

I can't be the only one who loves hearing Sean's theories in the games, right? sometimes his theories are better than the actual plot of the game. 48:24, Catalepsy is a neurological disease that makes the body move and stay in positions without control. one of the most common positions that happens when Catalepsy is triggered is the "En Guarde" or fencing position, where one arm points straight out, the other arm moves overhead, and the head tilts towards the arm that is extended straight out. The person with Catalepsy wont be able to stop the movements, but has full feeling and control of the parts of the body that are not effected. in most cases, its not painful.
Didn't expect this chapter to hit me in the feels! I can't imagine that they'd stretch the story out for more than one more chapter, and I'm excited to see the conclusion to the story. I have a feeling that Ludwig had absolutely no idea any of this would happen to his beloved toy factory.

Played this last night as it came out. It was fucking wild. The series has slowly become more grim and dark with each chapter. The first chapter was just a silly jumpscare Fnaf style game. Second chapter opened up the doors to the rest of the world and introduced more and more of the story. Third one took a dark turn around the corner and started to remove some of the restrictions of how this series is no longer a children’s game. It tells us why the factory is how it is and why it is. This chapter fully dives down the dark rabbit hole on who is behind it and why it’s doing what it’s doing. I absolutely loved this chapter, even though I spent a really unhealthy amount of time on a certain section because I kept getting mauled
I tried playing the game myself but there were so many fucking bugs throughout the entirety I couldnt be immersed. Including when I was running from doey. That giant cavern you have to glide down the rope from I was stuck on, because I thought I had to jump the fence and go down, and then I kept falling infinitely into a void. Took me watchins someone elses playthrough to real;ise there was a bar I needed to grab, and falling off the map was not intended at all
I like the idea of Markus being a standalone Ch 2 thing. Ima be honest…there’s a lot of names in Poppy Playtime, which isn’t surprising given the complete scope, but it’s already so complicated for a single story across multiple chapters. The ARGs and spinoff stuff along with all the people we have been introduced to in the game itself, it can be hard to keep track, so it’s nice to know there’s a bit part that added to lore in a way where you didn’t need to know the characters name in order to get the vibe and gist of the story. Sometimes it’s nice to just have a character be that. A character. And I really hope Markus wasn’t working on the day of the hour of joy and escaped the nightmare with some weird pub stories and a creepy feeling when he thinks about his previous employment…far better than any alternative.
Micheal Kovach is honestly such a gift to voice acting. From the Hazbin pilot, Amazing Digital Circus, to this. his range is so impressive. also Kissy having such visible fear while constantly having to have that smile printed on is such a testament to the animators. even if she looks joyful, her body language always portrays her fear and shyness.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in October and is still fighting it through chemo and blood transfusions (she had one today), I lost my 16 year old dog on Christmas Eve, and one of my closest friends from high school passed away last week. It's been bad. I really needed something positive in my life, so thank you for existing and playing fun games that help keep some of the dread at bay for a little while. I think what makes poppy playtime one of the better mascot horror games is the graphics, gameplay, designs, and story. Compared to many others like garden of banban who don't try as hard poppy you can tell everyone working on it care about the game and take their time with each chapter to make it better then the last and to expand it's story in good and logical ways. Can't wait for the next, and most likely last, chapter and I can't wait for jack to cover it when that chapter comes out.

Like seriously what is the story of garden of banban and how many levels are there to that place. At least with poppy playtime it makes a bit more sense why this place is so big considering what they are doing, it might be over the top but at least they try to give a reason.

As an animal lover AND a knitter/yarn lover, the entry from the "doctor" at 53:15 broke my heart and filled me with fury. This game started out so silly, almost like a FNAF x Garten of BanBan mishmash, but now it's making me FEEL things and empathize with fictional characters who were abused and mistreated their entire fictional lives for the AMUSEMENT of a fictional monster. I'm sad, angry, and honestly impressed.
dude this was a chapter to be sure noticed some two pretty significant flaws, being the game's optimization (bugged around quite a bit and played rather poorly at times), and i feel like there was just way too much talking in this one. even then, i freaking loved doey and was so sad to see him go. yarnaby was pretty unsettling, and the suspense at the end of this chapter was great. also glad to see our favorite blue boy make a return. amazing production and voice acting as a whole as well. can't wait for what is hopefully the conclusion next chapter hah, thanks for having us on the ride, sean.
Honestly i think part of the reason it was so full of talking was they had to cram so many characters together, they had to introduce and flesh out 2 different new characters knowing they would only get 1 chapter

I think Sean is the reason why I like the type of some games I like and stuff (also also why I swear in English, I'm not English). It all started with Happy Wheels, I came across it somehow (maybe because a lot of people was talking about it at the time) and I searched Happy Wheels stuff on RUclips and came across this channel. He's been a huge part of my life and has made my life far happier, he's also why I know of Markiplier and Markiplier is why I know of Bob and Wade (and others). I am very grateful. I must've been around 12-13 when I learnt of this channel, I turn 23 in March.
Maybe there's something appealing about Happy Wheels to autistic people? Maybe it's just a coincidence however. To clear up a little confusion Doey is an interesting metaphor of Multiple personality disorder because he is a mixture of three kids in one person, the boy from the start, Mathew the 15 year old who we talk to the most because he’s a leader and the problem child because he’s the one that is doey but violent because he’s slight outbursts and irrational, in the one tape with the parents it’s both Jackie and the problem kid mixing and eventually it’s the child that kills the parents of Jackie and when he realizes he breaks down. The times when doey is rational and critical is when he is Mathew because of the “big brother status” genuinely my favorite character in mascot horror great work on Michele Kovach for bring him to life

That’s a really cool way of foreshadowing
Looking back at the song used in Doey's commercial, the lyrics stated "Triple kind of friend and Triple type of Fun!". it sounded normal at first, but when you hear it again after knowing what he's been through, it's kinda sad now.
Same with the intro commercial! There's one shot where claymated Doey bounces around the room and hits a picture frame, which then changes it to show three Doey's in the picture; One that's taller than the others and has a big smile, One that's giving the first one an angry side eye, and the last one that also has a big grin. Not only does it foreshadow Doey being made up of multiple kids but also what they were like before getting bigger bodied together!

doey's death really hit me hard this chapter, he's one that I sympathize with, which I didn't expect from this game. I can't wait to see what Chapter 5 has in store.

@@cookiemunster77honestly at that point I think he was just too far gone, I think the death of All the toys in Sanctuary just broke the little sanity he had left. I mean throughout the game we can clearly see that while he’s not insane yet he’s pretty unstable. This was just the straw that broke the camels back.
Here’s a quick recap of the story so far:
Playtime Co. is a company created by Elliot Ludwig. This company was known for taking in orphans and giving them a home where they had access to all things necessary for their development. The public didn’t know that in actuality Elliot and Playtime Co. were experimenting on the orphans and turning them into toys (that’s why there are no bodies, but a lot of bloody toy parts all across Playtime Co.). The point of this was for Elliot to try and live forever. The Prototype is believed to be Elliot (theory not proven). And he is collecting all of the dead toys and adding them to himself to become a “god”. The toys worship him because they see him as such. Specifically, when Catnap was a child he was severely sick, The Prototype saved him from his sickness by turning him into a toy, so Catnap was always loyal to The Prototype. We play as an old employee returning to right our wrongs (that’s why most of the characters already know us). There was an event called the “Hour of Joy” where all of the toys retaliated and slaughtered almost all of the employees. Also, sorry it’s so long. 😭 This is the shortest I can make it with explaining the general story. Please lemme know if I missed something, hope this helps! :)

It’s interesting how they give Doey multiple personalities in this game. It gives him a lot of flexibility and his voice actor does such a good job fulfilling all three roles.
Little details are super thought out as well. Like the scene after Doey gets hit with the liquid Nitrogen. You can see that Kevin is the one that gets irritated at the trap first, then it’s Jack that begins to cry, and then Matthew is the one who begins to comfort Jack.
Doey isn’t referring to himself in that scene, it’s parts of his origin communicating with each other. Same thing when he turns on us after the Safe Haven is destroyed.
At first it’s Jack lamenting over his killed friends, before then being taken over by Kevin and becoming aggressive with the player. Matthew tries to intervene and reason with his other two counterparts, but between Jacks mourning and Kevin’s anger, Matthew has no power over them as he once did.

I actually like the direction they took in turning people into mascots contrary to what jack says here.. They made it more horrifying, like the chimera in fullmetal alchemist.
I get how he feels because it feels like a trend. Fnaf the souls are from the kids that were stuffed into suits. Bendy at first they were people fed into the machine, now they aren't, but sorta still are. Each indie copycat souls or people, basically the human consciousness transferred into something else. And for what reason?

I like how they expanded on the idea. They didn't just say this is what's happening. They walked us through each piece of how they did it.
At this rate im convinced developers only put flashlights in their game so that people watching playthroughs can actually see the game, now all they need to do is make it so that the flashlight turns on and off automatically at certain points in the game. So that we don't have to squint every time creators play a dark game and never use the damn flashlight, like Sean has done countless times before and countless times to come.

“Project: Doey” is to create Doey using three seperate consciousess, I can’t say for certain, but i’m pretty sure Jack (the kid at the very start in the cartoon thing) fell into the dough at the start, which started the whole project, thus him being “Subject A”. To combat his Crybaby-like Personality (“i’m sorry, mommy, i’m sorry”, ectect) they needed to add others to counteract him (Subject B/C) (The “Natural Leader”/The Problem Child). The “Not Good Enough, Not Strong Enough” lines are from whatchamacallit (the Leader one, i forgot his name xD) and the “GENTLE VOICES LIE, THEY LIE, *angry* is from Kevin, the “Problem Child” it’s super deep and dark when you think about it, they did Doey super good though! 🎉

I'm honestly so glad that Poppy was legitimately a good character the entire time though. I'm happy she wasn't the twist villain everyone expected her to be. (As it seems so far. The next chapter could still add some twist but I honestly hope it doesn't)
I'm also kind of glad that Ollie _was_ actually the twist villain and was actually the prototype. It wasn't really surprising though since we never got to see Ollie 'in person' but it works very well!
The last chapter should wrap it up perfectly.
I had a feeling that was the case when we first met him since he knew everything that was going on but didn't always say how. Like if he used cameras when some places had no cameras. So happy my gut was right about him. Especially since he knew the factory so well

I have a theory of who Riley is. I think Riley is Kissy Missy. She describes that she can't move her fingers, hence the hands of the Kissy Missy doll. She says hair on her shoulders, she says she can't feel it anymore, so maybe the hands don't respond anymore to senses and she sees that she has fur, but can't feel it.
Riley was the dead purple thing that had the key in its ribcage. The one in the box jack had to jump up into above the train.
Riley was the purple toy that had the skull and ribcage inside of it, they tried to hide the key where no one would find it, that place being in their stomach. They probably passed due to starvation
I also think Riley was the random photo of a girl in Safe Haven. Shoulder length hair and all that.
Only five minutes in and the graphics look even better. Poppy's face looks more defined than the other chapters (I am in no way an expert in graphic design of videogames, I only have eyes 🤷♀️). Looking forward to the rest of this video!

I can't be the only one who loves hearing Sean's theories in the games, right? sometimes his theories are better than the actual plot of the game.
48:24, Catalepsy is a neurological disease that makes the body move and stay in positions without control. one of the most common positions that happens when Catalepsy is triggered is the "En Guarde" or fencing position, where one arm points straight out, the other arm moves overhead, and the head tilts towards the arm that is extended straight out. The person with Catalepsy wont be able to stop the movements, but has full feeling and control of the parts of the body that are not effected. in most cases, its not painful.
IIRC catalepsy is a rare symptom of extreme narcolepsy, where the patient would sometimes fall asleep standing up as the legs lock into place
Didn't expect this chapter to hit me in the feels! I can't imagine that they'd stretch the story out for more than one more chapter, and I'm excited to see the conclusion to the story. I have a feeling that Ludwig had absolutely no idea any of this would happen to his beloved toy factory.

Played this last night as it came out. It was fucking wild. The series has slowly become more grim and dark with each chapter. The first chapter was just a silly jumpscare Fnaf style game. Second chapter opened up the doors to the rest of the world and introduced more and more of the story. Third one took a dark turn around the corner and started to remove some of the restrictions of how this series is no longer a children’s game. It tells us why the factory is how it is and why it is. This chapter fully dives down the dark rabbit hole on who is behind it and why it’s doing what it’s doing. I absolutely loved this chapter, even though I spent a really unhealthy amount of time on a certain section because I kept getting mauled
I tried playing the game myself but there were so many fucking bugs throughout the entirety I couldnt be immersed. Including when I was running from doey. That giant cavern you have to glide down the rope from I was stuck on, because I thought I had to jump the fence and go down, and then I kept falling infinitely into a void. Took me watchins someone elses playthrough to real;ise there was a bar I needed to grab, and falling off the map was not intended at all

I like the idea of Markus being a standalone Ch 2 thing. Ima be honest…there’s a lot of names in Poppy Playtime, which isn’t surprising given the complete scope, but it’s already so complicated for a single story across multiple chapters. The ARGs and spinoff stuff along with all the people we have been introduced to in the game itself, it can be hard to keep track, so it’s nice to know there’s a bit part that added to lore in a way where you didn’t need to know the characters name in order to get the vibe and gist of the story.
Sometimes it’s nice to just have a character be that. A character. And I really hope Markus wasn’t working on the day of the hour of joy and escaped the nightmare with some weird pub stories and a creepy feeling when he thinks about his previous employment…far better than any alternative.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in October and is still fighting it through chemo and blood transfusions (she had one today), I lost my 16 year old dog on Christmas Eve, and one of my closest friends from high school passed away last week. It's been bad. I really needed something positive in my life, so thank you for existing and playing fun games that help keep some of the dread at bay for a little while. 7:45 bro just got a prompt in a horror game to press shift to run and didn’t care in the slightest.
I think what makes poppy playtime one of the better mascot horror games is the graphics, gameplay, designs, and story. Compared to many others like garden of banban who don't try as hard poppy you can tell everyone working on it care about the game and take their time with each chapter to make it better then the last and to expand it's story in good and logical ways. Can't wait for the next, and most likely last, chapter and I can't wait for jack to cover it when that chapter comes out.

And in my opinion other games should try to become more like it with gore and stuff
@Araf.hassan agreed. Like I said games like garden of banban don't try as much with making the story or the graphics. Like seriously what is the story of garden of banban and how many levels are there to that place. At least with poppy playtime it makes a bit more sense why this place is so big considering what they are doing, it might be over the top but at least they try to give a reason.

As an animal lover AND a knitter/yarn lover, the entry from the "doctor" at 53:15 broke my heart and filled me with fury. This game started out so silly, almost like a FNAF x Garten of BanBan mishmash, but now it's making me FEEL things and empathize with fictional characters who were abused and mistreated their entire fictional lives for the AMUSEMENT of a fictional monster. I'm sad, angry, and honestly impressed.
At this point I consume most games through just watching let’s plays, especially watching the Irish boy play
They can’t just introduce such a G character like Doey and then kill him in the same chapter
dude this was a chapter to be sure
noticed some two pretty significant flaws, being the game's optimization (bugged around quite a bit and played rather poorly at times), and i feel like there was just way too much talking in this one.
even then, i freaking loved doey and was so sad to see him go. yarnaby was pretty unsettling, and the suspense at the end of this chapter was great. also glad to see our favorite blue boy make a return. amazing production and voice acting as a whole as well. can't wait for what is hopefully the conclusion next chapter hah, thanks for having us on the ride, sean.
Honestly i think part of the reason it was so full of talking was they had to cram so many characters together, they had to introduce and flesh out 2 different new characters knowing they would only get 1 chapter
4:23 Sean I am so sorry lol. Didn’t help that sometimes people would get softlocked into playing the same puzzle multiple times. Also as other people said, your color blindness may inhibit you in some areas.
Ive just casually decided on my own to rewatch his older lets plays of the previous chapters, with no knowledge that chapter 4 was coming out. This was a wonderous treat to come home to.

I think Doey had the voices of the other kids screaming at him like at 3:301:30 he kept saying "EVERYTHINGS TOO LOUD!" You kinda have to remember that most of the experiments were just kids that were tormented in all the wrong ways.
