Is this Meridian Sooloos Media Player outdated or totally awesome?

- Fantastic media player/music server with a 17" touchscreen and 2TB of storage.
The heart of any Meridian HiFI system although it can be used with just about any system using the coaxial digital output. Probably the most convenient way to access a media library. Far better and easier than a PC with clunky software that needs to be rebooted periodically, or smartphone.
In perfect working condition. The screen is super bright and free from scratches or finger marks. It is super responsive and can stream and Internet Radio Stations through the ethernet network connection to the internet.
The Meridian Media Drive 600 storage unit (4TB total storage) is loaded with about 1600 of the best classic rock albums.

nice camerawork on the Jadis Eurythmies while doing the "Unplanned" walk over to get a CD.
I was the owner of one of these and LOVED IT! I had mine when Sooloos was a company before Meridian purchased them. I now have moved to Roon. This is still one of the best products I have ever owned.
Can they still be serviced? My display is not working?
@@paulwhitfield429 Hmm that is a good question. I would reach out to Meridian. If they can't repair it they might know someone who can.
this looks fantastic and i want one. none of this messing about with phones. what would be even nicer is if it had a built in digital DSP crossover and multiple channel output :D
I seen this on the website and I'm commenting before I watch the video but, this thing is so stinking cool and actually a fairly good deal I mean if you pay a dollar a piece for the albums that are loaded on there isn't that like $1,600? thanks guys I really appreciate seeing the equipment and watching all the videos! A lot of this stuff is out of my price range but it's really cool to see a man's got to have dreams and something to work for. I mean I've got some pieces that I never thought I would have. Modest Legacy audio preamp, California Audio Lab CD player, Dynaco MKllls, Klipsch CF2 and some amazing Mirage (of all companies) mrm-1speakers(seriously killer). I'm fairly young (35) and this is America anything's obtainable if you want it and work hard for it! I just might be working for this thing it's so cool! Again appreciate you guys!
I would have it in a heartbeat. There isn't to much on the market to beat it screen wise.
I remember reading reviews and drooling over these. 10k I think was a bit much for me. This could still be viable if it still supported tidal or spotify. No longer supported I'm guessing

Is it stil possible to use only the meridian mc 200 for put in cd"s with a extern cd/dvd writer or loading flac's from an imac?
I still use Sooloos- just a shame that Meridian stopped supporting it and it now no longer works with tidal
I too have one of these, in fact i have two of them, plus 6 of their top of the range speakers... Unfortunately as is said in the video, Meridian no longer supports this. I am pretty annoyed by that as I have spent over 100K on Meridian kit over the years and that is simply not acceptable. As a result I will not be buying Meridian kit again, which is a downer for both of us as i am setting up a new much bigger home right now. For high price tag items, customer support is king if they want repeat business and recommendation.
@@eeedee1298 actually for custom installs , meridian are excellent and so I wouldn’t give up . You can also turn Sooloos into a Roon core . Meridian DACs still hold up well . As does Sooloos for hard drive music provided you have a decent network Switch which cleans up the circuit and doesn’t allow ground noise from the Ethernet port to affect the downstream components
My display doesn’t light up. Does anyone know who would work on them or what the problem could be?
I bought a house with sooloos screen and extensive audio system but I can't get the screen to come on. The prior owner said there were 25,000 songs loaded. Does anyone have an idea how I would get the screen up? There is; a red light I can see that comes on but not the screen.
