This was one of the better reviews on the subject on RUclips. But have I not fully understood? I am looking for a way to get driving directions just like on Google Maps from my maps and Routes. I am trying to map the old Lincoln Highway and wish to have hands free directions.
I haven't found a way to get turn by turn directions yet :(

Thank you, it sucks that you can't get turn by turn navigation, but it will have to do.
You can do it just by adding a bunch of stops along the route you want to take. Too bad Google maps hasn't implemented an easier solution.

after exporting the map as kml and opening same with maps me, the route i created did not display on my phone
In maps.me on the bottom bar there is a symbol of a star. Press that and it will show all routes loaded am check ☑ the one your want to be shown

Seems like I can import tracks (KML) into google maps itself now and now on screen. What is the difference?
I'm really looking for a way to have google (or any app) give me voice turn by turn for mountain bike trail KMLs that I import to some app. If anyone knows how. Please let me know. Basically it would just tell me if I get off course or something.
I haven't found a software that can give you turn by turn for KML routes yet. But why don't you try mounting the phone to the handle bars with something like a Quadlock phone mount.
@@RideWithAlex Yeah. I did that 7 years ago. But it shouldn't be hard to find some txt to speech code and just read aloud user defined waypoint txt in the KML whenever your position gets close to the waypoint. So it would be totally different that AI turn by turn like Gnavigation. It would be more like a guided walking tour where waypoints give you details about the location.
Good explaination, but there is something i cant get to work. after loading the KML route into Maps.Me, it shows route and all, but how do i get the start button on screen to start the navigation? Like if i make a route on the fly in Maps.Me, i immediately gets the start button to push

@@Jason-ju7df I guess it may be similar problem as i GM which somtimes need to go to startpoint and push my location. But here i find no way to do it. its quite annoying and never explained anywhere. Either im stupid and its a obvious thing or something else going on :)
@@Jason-ju7df Well, i think its not possible. Its just for viewing the route...
Unfortunately maps.me can't recognize it as a route, it just puts the line over the map but it can't give you turn by turn directions. You are basically drawing a line on a map so you can look at the phone and follow that line.
Once you have your map loaded and a starting and end point then tap on the starting point for example and some more stuff pops up on the screen. Look toward the lower part of the screen and you should see something that says route to and route from. So tap your starting point and you will see the choices below. Choose route from. Then tap your ending point and pick route to. Then you should have another pop up that says start, tap that and then the screen should change and it should start routing you.

I think you can put them in Google maps but I've never worked with it that way.

I deleted the Maps.Me app on my iPhone 7 (and 6S) and downloaded it again.
I can no longer transfer KML/KMZ files to Maps.Me. In addition, I can no longer open bookmarks (ge0.me files) sent to me by a smartphone with Maps.Me.
During the attempts, Maps.Me remains active and sometimes a pop up screen advises me to change the location to "always".
My location is (and always was) set to "when using the Maps.Me app"
Unfortunately I haven't tried it on iPhone :(
