@@Puckerization Who likes reading a movie or series? I’ll pick up a book for that! This series looks great, though. And I love the Irish and their culture.
@@sam-lt8ev which is for a film about the Troubles. Forgive me but I have difficulty with "cool" dramatisation of this. Perhaps it's just the trailer, to draw in viewers. Certainly the book it is based on seems worth reading and comments suggest this is faithful to that

Top notch writing. Every other word is, of course, the WAY overused F-Word. Folks just didn’t talk this way during this time period, especially the women.
@@isthatyoursomnomnom That doesn't mean religion was the cause. You can't explain resistance to British Imperialism with a single statement in a movie trailer. And your second statement is completely false. Most conflicts are about power and land. Religion is sometimes used to justify it, but it's not always the cause.
The accent is so strong they added subtitles to the trailer!
😂
They have to cater to the Americans...the problem for them is the reading part.

This trailer looks a lot closer to the tone of the book, definitely looking forward to this series!
May I ask the name of the book?
I'm about to read the book, so I'm excited about both. I've read his Empire of Pain and it was a great book, so really looking forward to this one.
This looks like it’s got mad potential.
FX makes amazing series this day

See any of the films of Jim Sheridan's Daniel Day-Lewis trilogy if this topic interests you. Excellent films.

Its not terrorism when you're fighting a hostile occupying force.
Still dead babies whatever you call it.
Just like Palestine.

Yet, you criticize the Palestinians for resisting occupation!!
Banned in UK?
Why would it be?
@gomezthechimp1116 i just wondered.
@gomezthechimp1116 because this movie is about rebellion and attempts to ceceed Ireland from UK.
@@mememanbehindtheshadows546 if it was made in the 70s/80s it definitely would have been banned
