I have no idea why i was singing this in the store yesterday, today i started to sing it at work and had to search this video, copletely different from how i remember it 25 years ago 🤣
This is probably my favorite part of the movie. I think the Roman part stands out the most. I like the way that it's willing to combine the sound of chimes with an atmosphere of danger, almost immediately thereafter.
I can't tell if I dreamed this when I was a kid, or if it is some long lost movie that I had not seen in two decades. I just remember this scene faintly.
"I heard of tale of travelers, who feared to reach the edge... But, long before a serpent came... And ate 'em up instead," One way to end a song on an awkward note. XD
Chris was singing the song as a means of lifting the crew's spirits and raising morale. the fact that they didn't kill him then shows that it was working. besides, we only know that at the time they were THINKING of hanging him, they weren't sure yet if they'd actually do it.
zakfett92 but then the song’s ending lyrics unintentionally makes them like him less. The Viking ghost ship they encountered later convinced them to hang Chris. The Swarm Lord unintentionally saved Columbus by trying to kill the crew.
This is going to be my new Columbus Day tradition: watching a video that in no way represents the horror of the real Christopher Columbus. Happy Dom DeLuise Day!
"Oh, and don't forget about-a the slaughtering! Lots and lots of de slaughtering! Don't worry about the G rating in the next film, it's-a going to be a blood bath!"
Crew Member One: I think Columbus went nuts. Crew Member Two: Yeah, you're probably right. I mean, how can a worm talk? Crew Member Three: He probably is off his meds again. Crew Member One: Yeah, but he needs to get back on them. Or, else I am going pull that spyglass out of his crouch while his hat is eating his head.
3:05 Nice going Columbus, you just signed your own death certificate when you sang about your crew falling over the edge of the world and getting eaten by a giant snake!
Hellbound Iscariot imagine a giant sea serpent that surprisingly wanted to be friends and could talk. I've seen cases in other media where someone befriends a big monstrous creature. Like Nessie (voice of Phyllis Logan) became friends with Freddie the Frog AKA FR07 (voice of Ben Kingsley) in the movie: Freddie the Frog. Or another version of the Loch Ness Monster named Crusoe by the Scottish boy who raised it.
Ok I won't lie and I'll give this piece of shit movie SOME credit, Dom Deluise did do a pretty decent job on this song and it kind of had a good beat to it, but the film still SUCKS!!!
The real dark parts were that conflict with the Swarm Lord. Didn't really know what a swarm was back then. I was about 7 years old and already was into intense action shows with various creepy foes. Swat Kats, TMNT, et al.
Yeah. That's when I first got familiar with the term when I saw this movie. We didn't truly know the mechanics of it for centuries. It's parts of solar radiation being dispersed by the magnetic field, which is more noticeable near the poles. Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. There's also Aurora Australis or Southern Lights.
Of all the things that this movie got wrong, they did manage to portray Christopher Columbus accurately. After all, he was a complete moron that never discovered America and was controversial even back when he was alive. The only thing this movie left out was he had over 50,000 natives slaughtered on different islands over gold they rarely had outside the Taino.

This brings back soo many memories. ❤
Yoo I had this on VHS. So nostalgic.
One of my guilty pleasure songs ever.
🤣🤣🤣

This movie is the “The Room” of animated musical films.
This song and movie were so awesome. Brings back memories. Its a shame more people don't know about it.
A bad movie but a guilty pleasure. :-)
R.I.P. Dom DeLuise. He was awesome. Plus, he was super funny.
Rip Dom Deluise 🙏
This has always been my favorite song from the Magic Voyage! Thank you so much for uploading it!

It was a flick. Originally done in Germany.
Based on that actual voyage of Christopher Columbus. Added a lot of fantasy elements in it.
Oliver and company. An American tail Fievel goes west. 😊
That ending was just hilarious 😅😅.
God bless Dom Deluise!
Richard Canipe Amen. He did an awesome job doing the voices of the characters a long time ago.
this song is a guilty plesure of mine ;-)
Me avoiding adult responsibilities like 0:25
i hear you brother

3:07 That face just cracks me up every time!
The way Columbus said uh oh at 3:04 , he said it like a toddler just dookied in his pants.

@@animefan77 I doubt that was mean't to be the ending portion. He probably cut the song short, when he noticed the look on the crew's faces.
I used to watch this movie when I was a kid. I think Pico and Marilyn is a cute couple, but the Swarm Lord gave me nightmares, lol 😂
Not me. That was the only part that was really dark, I know. And Christopher Columbus just smashed it with a stone relic.
This is going to be my new Columbus Day tradition: watching a video that in no way represents the horror of the real Christopher Columbus. Happy Dom DeLuise Day!
RIP Dom DeLuise
2:56 Mood killer!
Watching this sped up at 2x speed hits different
2:16 Columbus! The house is on fire!
I swear it’s like whenever I bring this movie up to ppl it’s like they never even remotely heard of it and I’m just like how?
Happy 31st Anniversary, The Magic Voyage!!!
Sounds like a Spongebob Squarepants theme song that's why i like it.
RIP 🙏
Dom DeLuise
An interesting interpretation of the death throes of sailors who got lost on the high sea.
Classic! LOL
The crew is quiet, but Columbus never shuts up!
The Magic Voyage just turned 31 years old today.
"Oh, and don't forget about-a the slaughtering! Lots and lots of de slaughtering! Don't worry about the G rating in the next film, it's-a going to be a blood bath!"
Should’ve quit while you were ahead there, Chris.
uh oh.... eee... goodnight! time for beddie bye!
Also that grin. Just cracks me up!
At 2:27 - 2:32, I thought they were singing fast, which made this song even more fun!
Childhood Memories.
What other life could there be?
rw:catchy tune that makes me want to dance^_^

That was in 1993
Actually the vikings were in North America before you were Columbus.
True
Today is the 31st Anniversary of The Magic Voyage.

Hellbound Iscariot Yeah, he added a mood-killer and they later tried to hang him.
That's surprising for this movie...Usually everybody never shuts up.

BronyDuet I loved it as a kid, but yeah, not interested in watching the whole thing again now.
@@WilliamDearthwd when I was a kid it scared the shit out of me.

Beneath the northern lights??

How is it bad?
1:38 Yazz Flute!
I forgot how bizarre and weird the animation was in many parts.
Happy 31st!!!
@TheHandsomeRockLee
You're welcome!

Is it me or is Columbus dancing one of those monkeys that the trainer is screwing up the music boxes?
I know that Christopher Columbus discovered America, but he was right that the world is round, wasn't he?
Columbus dances badly. Gee, he probably has some insect biting at his crouch making him dance like that.

Except Columbus' crew apparently.
Nope. It's a horrible movie, but a sort of decent song.
This song isn't terrible, but that doesn't make up for the rest of this abomination of a film.
that was in 1993

Yeah. How ironic.
