When I was a kid I used to cry to this song because of the elephants drying, still do sometimes. But now I cry cause this song is so powerful and is a very strong reflection about how everyone chooses to ignore the struggling going around them, or they are the perpetrators or the crimes being committed. I didn’t fully realize that as a kid. Whether it’s about climate change, war, famine, genocide, etc, people turn their backs to it, actively deny it, continue to cause these problems or indirectly support them. But we need to fight, but how? How when nobody cares, when nobody *wants* to care, to help. Especially with what’s going on in Palestine. There’s an active genocide going on and people ignore it. Which is why, for me, this video is particularly special. As a kid in the 90s I used to cry because of all the pain and suffering of the animals. When I was a kid I used to cry to this song because of the elephants drying, still do sometimes. But now I cry cause this song is so powerful and is a very strong reflection about how everyone chooses to ignore the struggling going around them, or they are the perpetrators or the crimes being committed. I didn’t fully realize that as a kid. Whether it’s about climate change, war, famine, genocide, etc, people turn their backs to it, actively deny it, continue to cause these problems or indirectly support them.
