I've watched this mating scene 10 times and I still can't sit through it without smiling
Bro its u amazing vids and where are you guys coming from out of no where first dr plants now u
I love your videos!
Keep up the great videos mate!! Just found your account yesterday!
Perv ( ≖ ͜ʖ≖)
Ur vid is amazing
And let's not overlook the tank itself. The setup is absolutely gorgeous. Ok, back to the fish - their markings are spectacular. I wish they were a bit easier to find in these parts. Nice share, Nick. Thanks!
I love that your videos cover months and i dont have to wait for updates. I know it takes longer to put out content, but i really appreciate it!
I would of like to have seen more of this brilliant video of the growth of these tiny baby Hillstream loaches. ❤
Man, I’m the happiest person ever that the good old videos have came back BUTT with far better quality that makes it sooo cool and pleasing to watch, thank you man! I’m only 13 and have learned so much stuff from you!
What a beautiful tank setup. It looks like what it’s supposed to look like “a river”, almost like you carved it out of nature and put it in a small tank. I guess that’s why they thrive in the tank and breed. Plus I love the documentary style of the videos. I love the documentary style of your recent videos and obviously also they old style where we learn how to care for and breed fish
Awesome video Nick! We all appreciate how much work and effort you put into your videos. It just keeps getting better! 😁
Have bred hundreds of Sewellia Lineolata and also Sewellia Albisuera. My advice is to keep the water as clean as possible, do regulary fresh cold water changes and give them space to do their mating dance like a big flat stone or an open sandy space. Ofcourse be very careful with waterchanges because the young fish are very fragile. An other thing I noticed is when the fish are still in the juvenile form, they are very vulnerable for stress. That is why I always waited to move them to others untill they had the flat form. An other breeder had the same experience.
@KeepingFishSimple Keep up doing the good work! Have recommend your channel already to dozens of people.
What do you feed them? I can't even see my adult fish feeding, but they are already in my tank over 3 months and I never seen them eating
@@wagenlowyikhang7019 There is a misunderstanding about Sewellias. They are not algea eaters but they eat the bio film in your aquarium. However, you can feed them also special tablets for loaches or small sinking granules.
I almost didn't click because I thought you were doing something wild with actual freshwater stingrays!?! Glad I re-read the title!!
Another awesome video! Your just banging out hit after hit recently! Your footage of the mating dance was amazing! And you're so right, seeing the young munching away is almost cuteness overload! 🙏✌️
Same here, I am a hillstream loach enthusiast and I scrolled past this multiple times because of the title. I didnt look closely at the picture because it says “stingray” in the thumbnail and I’m not interested in those. Wasn’t until my fifth or sixth time it came up in recommended that I realized it’s actually loaches. If it would have been titled properly, I would have watched it right away.
@@frogbutsmall definitely wasn't the best title he's done. Yours was exactly my experience. I thought maybe it was another wild vid and I'm not too into actual giant stingrays so I was going to skip. Glad I didn't though as the footage is amazing!
Your documentary filmmaking skills - filming, editing, voiceover, fish keeping - all fantastic! I love what you are doing 🩵
Nick! I have always enjoyed your videos but you have gone next level! So excited for your future!
Every video is a small documentary with so much thought behind it. I really love it and look forward to the next mini doc.
That was awesome! Those babies are amazing. I really like the Hillstream loaches. Thank you for sharing such an incredible event.
This may be my favorite video so far. The music, narration and epic quality video is awesome. Mini documentary style!!!!
The videography is awesome so do is the editing! This is something I can watch all day!
Hi Nick, your awesome video inspired me to replicate your project. So I prepared a tank much like yours in the video & in September last year I ordered some HSL's from you. As they were pretty young I basically just set and forgot them, not expecting much to happen for a while. I would check in on them from time to time, just to make sure they were still there as they spend a lot of time under the rocks. Imagine my surprise the other day when I caught a very brief flash of something small dart between some rocks. I thought it may have been some of the local shrimp(NQ algae Shrimp) I have in there with them, but on patiently waiting I was able to pick out at least a dozen very small HSL's. I'm absolutely ecstatic and just wanted to share this with you, thank you.
Great video Nick! these have had a soft spot for me after keeping and breeding them many years ago, when I first saw them in a shop I was amazed with them, they are definitely a oddity in our fish community and I first thought the same thing and told my kids they are like mini stingrays, seeing you keep and breed them in the shop has been awesome and you have bred so many in such a short time, I had the same type of setup but I used a powerhead, thinking back I may of went wrong with that and the sponge filter may be the way to go, I may have sucked up eggs, now that they have exploded it may be a good time to move the large ones to another aquarium otherwise the young ones might eat the eggs as well, another great video Thanks for sharing 🙂
Those little guys are fantastic! Top notch cute.
Well I would have to say that's one of your best put together clips mate. Great footage mate nice work
Spectacular footage!! Thank you and congrats 😊
Awesome nick! I want to try breeding these! Thanks so much for showing this!🙏
Great video. Love the story telling style, close up shots, and shorter length.
Never thought there would be a 100 days challenge in this hobby
Really interesting video, the fish and the tank look fantastic, great work!
Awesome filming! I've never even considered loaches but this was such neat footage made me add them to my mental list😁
These kind of video are soooo satisfying and a huge stress relief
Please do more cuz Ik it takes a long time to make these please start more projects
Awesome video nick! Congratulations on all the little baby hillstream loaches , they are so so adorable and the way the male and female breed is very intense lol. Thanks for sharing mate 😊
These are so cool. It’s great that you have videos like this.
Love what you're doing nick!! Keep up a great work
The sound effects really made this one! Awesome video.
I refer to these guys as "scootches" and I love them.
Oh these mini's are sooooo cute.
These fish look so awesome. I recently watched a YT video of a guy in Florida, US who nets/traps canals, ponds etc for feral aquarium fish and some of their catch included this fish. This alone made me wish I could get back into keeping tanks. I beleve you will have a huge demand for such a unique fish.
Curly hair guy I think
@@yashtapase3821 It was either Bobby from Bass fishing Productions or Rob from Rob's Aquatics
Fantastic video, love the style and can’t wait to be able to get some of these from you.
I'm so excited that we seem to be getting healthy breeding colonies right here in brisbane.. I had given up on finding healthy loaches down under.
The sound design is always great
Well done video. The music wasn’t intrusive. Spot on my friend.
thats some pretty spot on nature documentary-esque editing and narrating
I love the new documentary vibe of the videos, but I absolutely loved learning along with you through your old style.
These are so fun to watch, but I feel like I’m missing information that I’d love to have.. That is with no disrespect, it is evident that you put a LOT of work into these kind of videos!
The edition in this video is amazing!
I've got a pair atm, bred last night. Such beautiful critters
So so awesome. Do you have more videos on this setup? Thanks for sharing 💗👍✌️💯
The sound effects are top notch
Such a cool little fish!
New style of videos are good but I wish you gave more details about parameters and so like you used to do in earlier times
I agree
I felt like I watched a Movie 😮 So inspiring to see how the video quality have improved over your videos 😍
this is amazing! you inspire me i bred mollies without meaning to
!!!
one of the few australians with a soothing voice
How ya goin big fella
@@KeepingFishSimple going alright, yourself?
Great job on the production quality of this video. It was like watching a BBC nature documentary
Maate! Im so jealous! These are my favourite fish, id love to have a tank with that many in it.
I love how the loaches kiss and dance so cuttteeeeeee
Awesome short video, as I too have Hillstreams and this is the first time I have seen the mating dance on RUclips.
So cool, well done.
Hello from las Vegas NV USA I always enjoy your videos a always like them first. Ty
They are adorable
I’m glad I’m not the only one who calls them mini stingrays
Very nice!! I have a few in a planted aquarium. I would like to try and breed them too!
I am still surprised about this channel only has 270K subs, he has good editing, good quality, variety of videos, and is helpful
Best documentary on Hillstream Loach I’ve ever seen!
So cool. Would love to see an update later on.
True fish keeping. This is how it should look like, aquascaping with purpose to simulate natural conditions ☝️👌
They're. so. cute!
Great vid been waiting to see how the hillstream loach breeding project went
This video had me grinning ear to ear , super freakin amazing 🎉❤.
I like your discovery channel style of editing 😁
Love watching your videos thanks
You are very inspiring for someone so young
I love your passion
Can you tell me more about your new bug food
Thanks for sharing:)
amazing video, makes me want to get some to try breeding them. when will they be up on the website?
Incredible! One of my favorite fish!! My local fish store does not have a steady supply so they're hard to get locally here in the States.
My lfs has them.... At $30 a pop
@@_Clayton.Bigsby_ £9:99 here and plentiful
Most of them are wild caught imports since so few people are breeding them captive
@@PondScummer don't make sense unless there being breed here, there not native to Europe so why are they as plentiful as say a bristlenose
@@vasili1207 They're imported en masse. No-one in my country (NZ) is breeding them but you'll see them for sale in every fish store. Same for kuhli loaches.
This looks and sounds... *okay... looks... 😅* like a BBC series... I love this channel. 😊
what type of BBc ?🙄
@@vasili1207 British Broadcasting Corporation for Fish 😏
I had them, they are gorgeous.
simple, amazing, well done. I want to do that now too! =D
This should be the golden standard video format on youtube.
Great work !!!
Love hillstream loaches 😊
I love this channel great fish
Nice video and great editing!
I was wondering what size the tank was, and what parameters your water was at? I'd appreciate if you could either respond or add it to the description. These are my boyfriend's favorite loach and I wanted to set up a tank for him. ❤
Brilliant video mate!
My favourite freshwater planted aquarium fish
Wow I've been a listener without any comments, but I must say, your filming and editing skills are something else from before.
Be careful what you wish for. I have an endler guppy that's been pregnant since last November.
She has given birth to over half my tank.
I usually have between 100 to 300 in a 20 gallon tank that has two filters. I sell the adults to a local pet store and have sold some in person. I only get the pet store dollars. Not actual cash. However I do get real cash from buyers who come in person.
Fantastic video man
Great job look awesome
very cute
They are lovely fish, we have several in 3 tanks and they are sweet little characters. No signs of breeding, but that's fine, they are extremely entertaining.
Hi there Nick. Amazing video. When will these guys be available on your website?
Danke!
Woah see those babies 😊
love it! great content. saludos desde Costa Rica :)
I love these!
Awesome video!
Awesome 🎉
these fish are comfy with strong stream in a tank and should be done for natural keeping
Really great video! What temperature do you keep the tank at?
makin me want to get into freshwater tanks
I have seen this fish species only once in the local store years ago and that's it.
I should have purchased a few.
Superb content bro, I enjoy this a lot
Awesome!!!! 😯😯
I need more videos on hillstream loach I really really love them
