Thanks, good stuff! Nice hard surface model, different modeling techniques, a bit of problems resolving (my favorite part). Only thing missing is chamfer/fillets. I don't know, maybe it is normal in CAD workflows, to leave perfectly sharp edges/corners, but in SubD modeling we never do that. But as I understand that is a weak side of Rhino - filleting complex assemblies would be a nightmare from what I know now... That "edge softening" is nice, but very limited compared to what we have in 3ds Max+Vray. Vray EdgeTex gives a lot more control, and can render HUGE fillets without a problem, not sure why Rhino is starting to break at 0.04 value... But anyway, it is just a rendering trick, not even sure if anyone renders with Rhino.
for these demos I typically am running as fast as possible to get a result in the time allotted. Certainly fillets could be added later. Don't believe the hype..Rhino fillets just fine. There are rules to follow for filleting a surface model and if you don't follow them it causes issues. Could it fillet better? sure, and we are working constantly to improve where we can.
