Headcanon: this version of sunset heights is what shadow was running through before he reached phantom ruby imposter shadow. The city is so screwed up by the death egg robots that the water systems is causing rains and floods. I mean, why else would the level highlight geysers as level mechanics, and the sewer systems as prominent locations in these two levels, with one instance showing shadow falling into a hole made by the robots? On the one side, harder sunset heights, on the other, just sunset heights destroyed further by the robots.
I said it before and I'll say it again, this was hands down one of the BEST Sam Procrastinates live streams I've ever been a part of. What time to be a Sonic and Shadow fan.
One detail i don't see people commenting enough is that here on 49:35, when shadow gets the doom wings you can see him getting on his knes and raising his hand just like sonic does during his wherehog transformation(sam ended up cutting most of the scene but you can kinda see it) that's such an amazing touch, the attention and love for the series in this game is completly outstanding and it makes me so happy to be a sonic fan nowadays.
Overall even tho I do think there was some missed opportunity with the story and lore and what characters could have shown up in the open zone, and even tho I do wish it was a bit longer. This was amazing, so much love went into the level desgin and animations and bosses. The interactions with shadow and characters was really sweet and the open area was really neat and there’s plenty to collect. Plus it looks so beautiful and the soundtrack is fantastic. So happy shadow got his time to shine after all these years and like the rest of the series, they want to get back on what made people love this series. ❤️🖤
(Long comment warning) The only things I personally think would’ve made it significantly better would be. 1. Remove shadows inhibiter rings in the scenes where he powers up so it feels like he’s actually using his full power even though Gerald warns him not to take them off. 2. The song from the anime prologue shorts isn’t in the game at all which is annoying and would’ve actually been a perfect credits song. Plus there’s a few songs in general they probably could’ve added like infinites theme for example. Speaking of infinite missed opportunity for a boss fight with him considering you get 2 stages set in the future yet no boss fight with any villains from the future. 3. While I understand why the sonic fight was a cutscene and not an actual boss/rival battle. it would’ve been nice to have some kind of rival battle in the game like maybe with silver for example. Plus it would’ve been nice to see more character interactions especially from omega because he wasn’t in sonic generations and he barely does anything in shadows story other than just give you information. Atleast with Big Cubot and Orbot it makes sense why they don’t really do anything. But Rouge Gerald and Maria do things to an extent in cutscenes so why not omega.
Being apart of the stream from start to finish was such a ride. Glad I was able to experience it alongside you. Can't wait for the review! Edit: LOL 1:12:01 is still one of my favorite moments from the streams!

Did anyone noticed this in SXS Generations? The two stories are parallel to each other in gameplay. Sonic Generations has Act 1 to be 2D and Act 2 3D, Shadow Generations has 2 acts but in reverse as now the Act 1 is 3D and Act 2 is 2D. Theres alos the hub world, Sonic's hub is 2D therefore act 1 and Shadow's hub is 3D which is the gams act 2. They made it so gameplay is parallel. So cool. Anyone noticed this? if theres more stuff like this do let me know.
So now that this game got to 1 million on release day And probably a boost in sales for Christmas then we might have a great chance of having another Shadow game ! The lore that could imply with maybe Maria’s younger sister, the possibility of Shadow now visiting Chaos Island, and new villain for shadow or somehow bring back Mephiles again somehow could be great
This might just be a me thing, but something about the music during the final cut scene reminded me of Hans Zimmer's 'This Is My World' from Batman V Superman. The two soundtracks don't sound exactly the same but the way they're conveyed is pretty effective. And hey if you remind me of a Hans Zimmer soundtrack, then you've already earned a W.
I will say this, and I will continue to keep saying this: Radical Highway is Black Doom's Domain Expansion. It allows Black Doom to warp the terrain as he sees fit, and it can nullify Chaos Control.

I think the reason why sonic and his friends use the eye lids as eye brows, because the rigging of the 3D model is not capable to do it. Because there's a mod that uses sonic frontiers model in shadow cutscene and it looks unnatural when it moves it's eye brows. The part of sonic unieye doesn't have a smooth transition.
Planet aligning coincidence that the fake Emerald from Adventure 2 was yellow, and you get the yellow Emerald from Shadow in based Generations already.

Yes, it’s the best Sonic game to date, no, it didn’t take me more than 5 hours to beat it. Sonic Team seriously has an issue with making games that take more than one day to finish. The game was amazing but there wasn’t actually much game for me to play. Still worth the money, but did not give me the kind of long-term enjoyment that frontiers did. Overrall, 7.5/10 probably. The moment the credits rolled I couldn’t help but sit there and think ‘Oh… That’s it…?’
After playing it, I think it's a solid 8, but I 100% agree with you. If Sonic Team is smart, they'll invest on free updates/DLC. Maybe that can help mitigate the problem.
It's not meant to take more than one day to finish because this is not a full standalone game. This is a side game packaged alongside Sonic Generations. This is like complaining that 4 Swords or Bowser's Fury is too short.

I think the last balloon with the pages only appears when you activate the Doom Zone in the middle of the Map. You can do that after the Story.
